RE: Afghanistan the Graveyard of Supper Powers

Make up your mind. In the thread title you say supper and now you're saying breakfast. Which is it? grin

RE: The rich get benefits from UK tory govt.

Who mentioned anything about health care? You'd be as valid saying...'Which is all the more reason not to paint the lamp posts blue here.' confused

RE: catch 22 is a...

Catch 22 is the price of life we all pay. As soon as we appreciate that life itself is a precious gift, we realise that one day we will have to face death. As they sing in Life of Brian....Remember that the last laugh is on you. cheers

RE: Jimmy Savile

I see Freddie Star was questioned and was interviewed with his new fiance beside him... a girl who appears to be a third of his age. Mmmmm. wink

RE: what is love ?

A series of squelching noises followed by a gasp. grin

RE: YOU ARE A CROWN COURT JUDGE NOW!

Overdue library book. DEATH BY HANGING. You can judge the rest from there. grin

RE: Atheist or Non-Atheist ?

And that's exactly why you'll spend an eternity in purgatory begging for forgiveness as the demons slap your naked body with sticks of wet celery!

devil

(just kidding...........about the celery anyways)

RE: Does age matter to you in everyday life?

I have known people in their seventies with the outlook and energy of a teenager and vice versa. Some people just have a youthful spirit regardless of age. Others were born old.

So no, age is not at all important in everyday life and friendships for me anyway. conversing

RE: Hurricane SANDY

This is tragic. A potential disaster and there's no way to blame Obama! Some of the CS members must be beside themselves with grief. very mad

RE: 6 day war in Israel 1967

Have you ever come across a Jewish woman with P.M.S? uh oh Imagine a battallion of them. hole

RE: 6 day war in Israel 1967

I was thinking that too. In those days the Brits tended to side with the Arab nations due to oil interests which caused some friction with the USA who tended to side with Israel. laugh

RE: When will the EURO collapse because of the debt crisis?

That's exactly why I believe Germany will never allow the Euro to fail. They will never get all the money back that they lent out but every cent will be fought for. conversing

RE: Am I wrong to expect honesty here?

Well, I call myself Godsgift! How much more honest can I be? grin

RE: Germans spy in UK

Erm, I think as a Greek, you don't wan't to be talking about Germany and the Euro. laugh

RE: Am I wrong to expect honesty here?

I think, just like real life, you have to separate the wheat from the chaff in here too. The internet, and especially sites like this, do not lend themselves to honesty. sigh

RE: Germans spy in UK

RE: Germans spy in UK

Never, in the field of human housework, has so much been owed by so many to so few.

We shall go on to the end, we shall Dyson in France,
we shall Dyson on the seas and oceans,
we shall Dyson with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall Dyson on the beaches,
we shall Dyson on the landing grounds,
we shall Dyson in the fields and in the streets,
we shall Dyson in the hills;
we shall never surrender

uk grin

RE: Jan's Wildlife Forum - Part 3 (plus other nerdy stuff)

I'll be watching too. I remember many posts about your wee car. smitten

RE: 2 years later and nothing has changed

I think you need to stop persecuting yourself. If you have this syndrome and if you have heart problems, you should be looking at yourself with compassion and not anger. You need help to deal with the bullying in your past so I suggest you talk to your doctor about getting some counselling. Nobody is going to have a relationship with you until you have one with yourself. Your negativity is a self fulfilling prophecy. Trust me bud, I've been there. You can't sort this on your own. comfort

RE: one for the narcissists

Well, I can't even spell narsistict........ see! I'll just be an ego maniac! grin

RE: Travelling around Ireland

Waterford, Wexford, Adare, Ennis, Galway, Cork (City and county, (Don't forget to kiss the Blarney Stone), particularly West Cork.....Bantry, Clonakilty etc.) Bunratty is worth an overnight stay to visit the folk park and to have some porter in Durty Nellies in the shadow of Bunratty Castle and possibly a visit to the medievil banquet. This is ideal if you're either flying in or out through Shannon. The Cliffs of Mohar have been ruined with a visitors centre, so I suggest you check out the cliffs at the back of Kilkee leading around to Loophead and Kilbaha and Carrigaholt here in County Clare at the mouth of the River Shannon. These are unspoiled and natural.

I'm not Irish but it really is a beautiful country with very friendly people on the whole. I do hope you enjoy yourself. conversing
