Yep, seen the truck there last night...had to go find dark drapes that would block out the light so we could watch movies He rides extreme...many miles...but has been doing so for years. WE try to go out for ride 2-3 times a week, usually 12 kms or so. Have to bring the truck down though...I am not flipping ever going to bike up 2-mile hill! He can; and that's great! I will stick to conquering the smaller hills for now... I will email you my cell #, if I haven't????

I am thinking about this...how to answer you in a way that makes sense...that won't be taken the wrong way. But, I do know that above all else...you have to look after yourself first, put your own needs first as you cannot be of help to someone else when you are miserable...::going to think:: it's a tough one
That's great to hear!!! Have a wonderful time gord! We left for biking tonight from the Walmart parking lot. Was that Brian's truck there? Used to seeing it up at the Chalet...if it is his, next weekend we'll try to stop by and say hi!
I seem on my MSN news link - CBC news. Lake by Penticton... Does make you wonder though doesn't it. Whoever it may be, there will be some type of closure for those left wondering.
Scuba divers find a 1960's New Yorker at the bottom of a BC lake...with a body inside - can you flipping imagine coming across that during a sunny afternoon dive? No plates on the car...they may have a hard time finding identity. Makes me wonder...how long has family or friends been waiting for him/her to come home?
welcome home girl!!! I look at the international forums...don't post often...find it to be rather unwelcoming and there to be alot of infighting...don't have the energy! It is fun. easygoing, warm and relaxing on here!
Working a cool 21 hours this weekend...and will fit in a Saturday night with my man and a few hours for the kiddo too...and a few loads of clothes...and I haven't quite figure out the dishes yet!
I went to the beach at Marsh Lake today!!! Mind you, it is still pretty much ice-locked...but there are hundreds of Trumpeter Swans to view and listen to...Mother Nature at her best once again!
....and... Semi drivers that feel it is their God given right to drive out into traffic on the Alaska Hiway. Literally, making traffic stop. This is not assertive driving or even stupid driving...this is being an effing bully because you can, because you are bigger and we will stop. Wait your effing turn arsehole, just like the rest of us! This is an ongoing problem...at least once a day! And it peeves me off. I know that it is a small percentage, but the odds will catch up and there will be a bad accident with one of these no minds involved...
...and... Dirty dishes that do not wash themselves. They just wait there patiently for me to come along and give them a bath. Helpless flipping things.
Again...SQUARE TOED SOCKS!!! Drivers that don't use their signal lights...parents who refuse to support their children...expired items on the grocery shelves...being dead...Northwestel's "Internet" prices...the price of gas...war...evil people...lactose...injustice...bank fees........
Oh, dear God...cannot imagine; don't want to even try. Just hope that this little tot is found alive and well...and that all those searching for him are kept safe. What a horrific event.
Happy day 3 of SPRING!! Wet, heavy snow that did not end. The roads are crappy, it pisses me off cuz we were just talking about getting the bikes out...I thought I was done shoveling snow off of the truck...and snow got in my shoes! It really, really sucks the big one!!! (Did you see that one too gordy ???)
There are several Country songs that I really like, but... "The Dance" (Garth Brookes) and "Fall" (Clay Walker) "It's Your Love" (Tim McGraw); "Rockin'Years"(Dolly Parton)...
...well from what I can gather, it really isn't that bad. One positive is that it will put an end to the counterfeit problem (which by the way, seems to be a bit of an issue up here - lots of face fives flying around!) They will save money, not having to reprint new bills...
My goal, or one of many, is to save on of each bill and put it away, yep even a 100! May be a good investment for some day in the future
How true it is...but it all makes me wonder... How many kids in your school had allergies? How many children had ADD or ADHD or other behaviour and psychological challenges? Do you remember the percentage of children and families affected by autism? How many people did you know struggles with a variety and unending list of learning disabilities? What I am saying is...really, perhaps we have been safeguarded to the point of our own detriment??? Just a thought... But yep...memories...make me smile
Here's to US!!!! No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us, WE ARE AWESOME !!!! OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF !!!! To Those of Us Born 1930 - 1979 At the end of this is a quote of the month by Jay Leno.. If you don't read anything else, please read what he said.. Very well stated, Mr. Leno.
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's, 40's, 50's,60's and 70's!! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints... We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads. As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes. Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight.. WHY? Because we were always outside playing...that's why! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.. No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were OKAY. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem We did not have Play stations, Nintendo's and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's,no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones,no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms. WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! cont'd
Apparently the Canadian government is in the process of changing out currency over to "plastic money" as opposed to the paper/cotton bills that are in circulation. I read that is will be very mush like that in Australia. Also, it can be hard to "handle" as it is slippery and hard to count for those in banks and retail??? Could someone tell us here in Canada about this "plastic" fake feeling money? Curious as to what we will be dealing with in a year ...Thanks much!!!
Very informative...thanks Kim...think I will send this along to a few others, if that is okay. Soem things one just doesn't think about. Love the Wasp Spray option! Wonder if that would work for bears???
I am grateful that common sense has prevailed!!! This brought to mind today something that happened when I was in elementary school...lots of years ago. SOMEONE DECIDED TO CHANGE THE MELODY OF AWAY IN A MANGER!!! Well this messed with my 10 year old head...and still to this day...eons later...I still start to sing this old Christmas Carol in the old tune...and people look at me like I am completely from another planet....just a walk down memory lane!
As announced on all news stations and sites: Canada to switch to plastic bills next year The federal government announced earlier this week that Canada's paper-cotton banknotes would be replaced by newly designed plastic ones next year. Apparently they are slippery and somewhat difficult to work with. This will be great for all of us in the retail industry or others who handle money ...and for consumers? Hell, I remember how hard it was for alot of old timers to adjust to the the loonie and toonie...This aughta be good! For flipping sakes; maybe I am getting old...but why can't some things be left well enough alone? opinions???
