Well, I for one KNOW you’re beautiful all over / inside and out. You know, if I thought I had a snowball’s chance, I’d change to straight for you— (even if I had to get hypnotized or electrical- shock treatment or severe camp !
Your post reminded me of something I’ve wondered about from time-to-time— and it could be isolated, I suppose— I see many “ mixed” couples in both cosmopolitan and small-town Oregon ie black/white, Asian/ black or white, etc...and occasionally Hispanic men with white women. However, I NEVER see a Hispanic woman with a white man. Is it just me, or is this somewhat the “norm”. And PLEASE, people, it’s ONLY a question, there’s nothing behind it, I swear on my beloved grandma’s gold- capped dentures...
So NOW you’re The Lone Ranger, eh? You’re nailing me to the wall, chora...( had a crush on the “masked man”, .would’ve had one on Zorro, too, but he was just a little too butch (if THAT’S possible...) for me... I
I chose Mr. Spock....( but I’d like to be him on that episode where he gets all randy and discombobulated and has to return to Vulcan to...uh, get it all out of his system.)
...Vulcans only get to, what was it, once every 5 years or so... ...better be mighty fine...
Very interesting and timely topic. Quick comment: Doesn’t/ shouldn’t the generally universal adage ‘to each his own’ mean that everyone allow everyone else their freedom of thinking? If agnostics/ atheists want ‘Believers’ to allow them the liberty to NOT believe, then they need to allow ‘Believers’ the right TO believe. And, without either side “putting down” the other.
Well, I got a “ hit” that seemed pertinent to ‘child- acting laws in adult-themed plays and cinema’. It was a thesis written by Meredith C. Ott, from my own state, no less, The University Of Oregon Department Of Theatre Arts, June, 2009. I re-read several chapters, just to be sure I was interpreting content accurately. The analysis wound down to the depth of the content being “approved” by parents. Hmmmmm...I recall a court case during my employment ( part of my career was in pediatric psych) where a boyfriend of the mother was being investigated for inappropriate conduct ( not established as illegal) with a child. The defense was that the mother was “OK” with it. The judge interrupted (which is allowed in certain circumstances) and said, “The jury is reminded that approval does not equal sanction”. I personally believe this practice of the motion picture industry should be sternly investigated. The rest of us have to live by social protective standards, and making an exception (for financial gain) is wrong. I also believe that thesis writer Ott missed a golden, teachable opportunity. However, college writing, especially at the graduate level, is beyond daunting, and being inclusive of every angle of a topic is nearly, if not, impossible. Thank you to all for reading this and giving responses.
Thanks love..if you do get a chance, watch scenes from it, if your search program allows. In the meantime, I’m going to google this question (one has to be very precise and specific with google or you get hundreds of pages of inordinate information...) and see if that topic has been addressed before.
Not to set aside your latest kinder words to me (appreciated..) I’m at sea reading your seemingly grudging, negative commentary to OTHER members here... for myself, it’s inconsistent with the pleasant, courteous atmosphere I see CS as being developed for...you are confusing...’lil bit...
Hi there, and thanks for input. After reading your post, I thought deeply about what I wrote, and what you wrote. I projected myself to a position of being a hard- working, professional man who has done his part academically, socially, and at times, gratuitously. I finally got a beautiful country home in a cool little hamlet. Would I do everything I could to defend this little blue Heaven from being ruined by devil- may- care encroachers? In an honest word..YES. So, does that make me a bad person? In an honest word..NO.
Looking forward to reading more responses. Thanx, everybody...
I used to see this column in “Readers’ Digest”. Usually interesting, and not always an expected outcome. Here’s one, happening near here. I’d like honest opinions and views regarding this.
So, there are two very rural towns ( hamlets, actually) way out in the country, about 20 miles apart. Word’s out ( and very probable, accurate) that the established townsfolk, especially the men, keep an extremely sharp eye out for “ drifters”, and arrive with their trucks, dogs, friends, and literally run them out of town. It’s been reported to local officials, but the methods used fall short of actually being illegal, and I’m guessing the local authorities would want them to not set up camp, etc...either. The citizens collectively are adamant that their pastoral life not be encroached upon this way. Coos Bay has a glaringly bad homeless problem, but it is actually tolerated, and largely accommodated, here. I’m torn. I get not wanting it ( it’s not personal nor sanctimonious; in short, it’s the trash, waste that is so terrible. However, this IS America, and those towns don’t own the road, nor the state and national forests bordering, and it IS allowed that people live there. What say Ye, my CS friends? Is intimidation to have ones own way appropriate? Just wondering...
See my recent post. (“There ain’t no good guy, there ain’t no bad guy...” ) internet “talk” leaves lots of room for error...I have never “seen” you as anything other than friendly, a bissel whimsical, but NEVER dull I guess we have to chalk up these misunderstandings. My wonderful great auntie used to say, “ the longer you stir $&%* the worse it stinks...”
RE: Threats
what in the world are you talking about?
