RE: Is everyone on the forums housebound ?

HEY! I KNOW! Let’s do philosophy to break the late fall doldrums…I’ll get together a few of my bestest ones…but…you first…handshake

(But stop calling me a malarka…)

RE: Ghislaine Maxwell Trial

So, just how MUCH trouble is Maxwell in? Is it possible that her (likely) high-powered lawyers can get her acquitted, or at least negotiate a great deal for her? How do these things pan out? Could she walk? How likely is that?

RE: Social conditioning

Rather cynical, but for the most part, correct. In my youth, and slightly post- beat-nik/hippie era, the “mood” was moving toward a better world, a better planet, better human relationships…ie, the hit songs were “Top Of The World”, “Born Free”, “What The World Needs Now, Is Love, Sweet Love”, “The Impossible Dream”, “Climb Every Mountain”, “Imagine”, and so on. I started out in life (the workforce) very optimistically- everyone around me was friendly, helpful, cheerful, encouraging. I would see all this shatter through the years, into harsh competitiveness, petty jealousies, hostile work environments, nasty game-playing, and unfair employee-employer relationships. My natural bend was, and is, to try again, pray, be patient with people and situations. But the world has been in decay since Adam.

RE: Is everyone on the forums housebound ?

It’s healthy to face head-on Life’s events and situations, and step up to the plate. There’s really not much else to do. I’m much stronger a person than I actually thought I was— the last fifteen years have been an incredible challenge of (primarily) a medical catastrophe that caused, for a time, my hard-earned upper-middle-class lifestyle to drop all the way down to poverty, becoming a dependent on family for awhile (OH MY GOD you don’t know what bloody hell this is if you haven’t been there..) and then slowly, meaningfully convalescing and bouncing back to middle-class, which I’LL TAKE! Gladly. .

peace

I won. I’m alive.

I live at the beach.

I’m warm.

I have a cat.

He’s a dandy…..

RE: Is everyone on the forums housebound ?

It does tend to seem that way. We’re getting back in the groove, pubs, shops, but I believe many people got a little used to the idea of not going out; discovered there’s a cool world to experience either in solitude or with just a friend or two. Not exactly a bad thing…My “ real” experiences are visiting and playing folk music in Farmers Markets and other gatherings, going down to the beach, which never loses its beauty and value, tending to my two rescue pets, making cards and writing real letters and actually sending them ( people still love getting mail in the old tin mailbox)… I pick up a friend who doesn’t drive and take her on her errands and appointments, tend the porch and yard of my duplex flat….there’s plenty to do.

RE: Why cant I find a gal?

I think it’s good when partners have a common goal they do together, like backyard chickens, a garden, home improvement, decorating, etc…combined with individual personal interests such as fishing or just taking a trip alone once in awhile. That way, there is both togetherness, AND a healthy respect for each others’ solitary time. I think in most cases this works well.

RE: who is the worlds greatest person on CS

My God are my eyes moist—my father absolutely LOVED this, and other Celtic songs. And, get this, he looked a lot like the Dubliner in the light coat (front and center on album). A pretty, handsome man who was just lost in this harsh world…but he loved me and was desperate to be loved back…which he was.

..didn’t mean to go on…you mean a lot to me, chara. You are a light in the tunnel.

RE: All About KETO

oh, even the celebrity docs, Oz, for instance, waffle back and forth on foods that are good for you— one week eggs are good for you, the next, they’re not, followed by avocados, root vegetables, meats, wine, ad nauseum. I recommend good research, but in the final analysis, our bodies TELL us what we need. Tune in….we are wondrously made.

RE: Older women double standard

You’re mighty young, btw. Either have proof of age, or wait a couple of years…You probably should get a little more life experience before writing these kinds of aspirations…

RE: Older women double standard

Move to L.A. and take a course in swimming pool maintenance. Get good at it. Don’t be afraid to “dress for the job”— less is more, hint hint. Your phone will be ringing off the hook, you’ll meet gorgeous older women who’ll want their pool serviced frequently, pay you WELL, and no strings attached, for any “harder” tasks. If they’re married, no one will tell, no one will care. If the husband finds out, we’ll, there’s a good chance he’ll be OK with it. In many cases, WAY OK.

RE: The difference between Greek & English culture.

Hey you…happy belated Thanksgiving…teddybear

RE: Just wondering how many people are home alone for Thanksgiving??

Along with the efforts of another person who knows her, it would appear that the message was received. She hasn’t contacted me since, and I believe that she has, whether she likes it or not, been advised to cool her jets. I don’t think she’ll ever contact again. So, did it go well? Sure. Because I just don’t have any room left for anything but people and circumstances that are chill. Life is too darn short.

RE: Intentions here

Here’s a list to go by:

Gene Kelley. Chuck Connors. (Did they realize the tight commando jeans?? My God, I’m dying..) Hugh Jackman. Charleton Heston. Tarzan. (The cool one with the skimpy loincloth..) All of the shipboard dancers from “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”. Enough to get started? Put the kettle on and start chanting. Burn some incense. Patchouli, if you have it.

RE: Intentions here

You’re a doll. (Uh, when is he going to get here?laugh )

RE: The Mask

In some states, including Oregon, it’s still mandatory. There are businesses that do not enforce it, even some restaurants. All medical outlets, from General Hospitals, Care Centers, and clinics require a full nose and mouth mask, and will NOT accept the acrylic shield, which I prefer. All over, I see businesses with no, or few customers, wearing any, and no one says anything. It’s sort of become a non-issue, in “the boonies”, anyway. Our police etc…are operating on skeleton crews, can’t get officers…so enforcement is very low priority.

RE: Just wondering how many people are home alone for Thanksgiving??

That icon only ticks me off if someone is using it to be sarcastic and mean, and I know that’s not how you roll, so it didn’t bug me. I respect your style here— btw …handshake

RE: Just wondering how many people are home alone for Thanksgiving??

I was going to say “Scouse” but wasn’t quite sure of the connotation, and I want to keep this Greek Londoner for a friend…professor

RE: Just wondering how many people are home alone for Thanksgiving??

Full Scot, here. I absolutely LOVE the Irish, but they tick me off, too. laugh
