I wonder if the US voters have learned from history, or is the US doomed to repeat it.

During his campaign Trump promises to eliminate the national debt, and instead almost immediately gives the rich a huge permanent tax cut, and proceeds over the next 3 years to drive up the national debt by $8.3 Trillion.

Have the voters learned from history, or is the US doomed to repeat it ? dunno

What they have learned from the past is to never let another President like Obama recklessly spend America's money like he did with the pallets of cash to Iran.
They learned that if Trump once built a great economy he can do it again.
They learned that the trillions spent on restarting the economy will be just a snag in the recovery.
They learned that they will never again trust a Democrat with the house keys at 2200 Pennsylvania Ave.
They learned.
Apparently, some are so misled by propaganda, that they STILL have not learned,
that the money which was given BACK to Iran was their money, not ours to spend.

From factcheck.org ;

The money given back to Iran, was part of a deal that allowed nuclear inspections.
The idiot currently in office, elected by even dumber people, proceeded to tear up
that agreement with Iran. So, they kept the $$$ and we no longer have access to inspect. Yeah, he's a real "stable genius" deal maker. roll eyes crazy
If they owed the money to Iran they would have paid it back through normal international channels not in the dark of night with cash on pallets secretly sending it.

We see it time & time again, conservatives misled by dishonest propaganda, attempt to distract from the current real problem by trying "what about that" arguments, which divert one's attention from the real problem.
The topic of this blog is Trump's history of bankruptcies and his driving the national debt up, despite promising to eliminate the national debt.

The headline for this blog is: I wonder if the US voters have learned from history, or is the US doomed to repeat it.

Don't squirrel out on this one.
what "Agreement" was that again?
How come it hadn't been ratified by the Senate?
Yes. An internet meme followed by your feeble attempt to blame Trump for something nobody could have expected.
Conrad - The agreement wasn't a treaty and the majority of the assets were in foreign banks, not US banks. Thus, the Senate was not needed to approve it. Some Republicans in the Senate did discuss attempting to block it, but did not have the votes necessary to do so.
As horrible as that result would be, it is possible, especially if
the older voters have not learned their lesson from the past 3 years
and the younger voters again do not show up at the polls in 'battleground' states.

Hopefully, there won't be a lot of drinking and/or pot parties the night before the election.

We need a Constitutional Amendment redefining the requirements to be POTUS ...
One can be selected Prez OR be collecting Social Security -- Not Both scold

That'd lower the probability of voters being forced to choose between the lesser of Mentally Impaired.

grin

cowboy
That would make no difference. The SS could be put on hold.
Indeed, since the president gets the salary for life. If the person is elected,
would they really need SS ?

Why not have the candidates tested for mental capabilities prior to the election ?
That would have eliminated Trump from getting any votes.
kpthatsme

Awesome tirade !!!

When confronted with a choice of The Less Mentally Impaired, pre-election self medication is understandable.

For Pity's Sake, Yall!! doh -- Listen to Just the commentator's opening remark in the vid in my comment above roll eyes & Let It Sink In ...

Referring back to the commentary in the vid in my comment above roll eyes ...

The commentator showed a clip of The Don having difficulty walking down a gentle slope & suggested The Don may be physically "unfit" to hold the Office of POTUS.
OTOH -- Prez FDR couldn't Stand without 60 lb. of leg braces.

But ...
I saw something Potentially(!) more ominous which the commentator overlooked ...

"In earlier stages, or even before other dementia symptoms develop, losing balance while standing or walking can indicate an increased potential(!) to develop Alzheimer's. It may also be a sign that ... one is suffering from a kind of dementia other than Alzheimer's, like vascular dementia."

uh oh

Dr. Jorgensen may be My most vote-able option -- Despite her lunatic running mate!

I considered voting for McCain BEFORE his VP selection.
I honestly figured some sort of brain issue, however, I did not know, that it was cancer.
There's no question, that Pence is a dud and she would be a more appealing VP.
However, the biggest problem, is the presidential candidate.
The only way that she would make a difference with a Trump presidency,
would be if Trump was removed from office, or died.
Indeed, he probably knows that, and thus, wouldn't change from Pence,
as either option would become more appealing to others.
Time will tell.

Let's see how many will sign on the dotted line and attend Trump's rally.

That will be an indicator if the USA will repeat history.
Or.....will natural selection (i.e. Covid-19) eliminate some of the dummies that actually show up to be crowded in with a bunch of other nutcases not wearing masks ?
Trump rally this Saturday: Attendees temperatures will be checked, masks provided, as well as hand sanitizer - per Brad Parscale, Trump campaign manager. Over a million people applied for tickets.

Of course we'll have to put up with the perennially deranged - Jim and others - pretending to be outraged about Trump rallies going ahead when scenes like the below happened in the last week and they didn't have a word to say.

That's because you are so blind with hatred for democrats, or anyone you think is a democrat,
that you refer to them as "demonrats". Clearly, you can't see straight, nor think clearly.
Every democrat is not the same, nor is every republican the same. People are individuals and should be
treated as such. Your prejudices prevent you from making wise decisions. Indeed, you have been an easy mark for propaganda.

Clearly you're joking right? People are individuals - as long as they agree with you. Otherwise you have many labels for them - dumb, moronic, idiotic, brainwashed - the list goes on and on.
Pot calling the kettle black
I call stupid ideas, stupid ideas, or point out the severe irony. Sorry if some can not handle that.
I permit alternative ideas on my blogs (regardless if they are brilliant, or stupid, or somewhere in between) and praise those that are good ones, whether they were my idea, or someone else's.

The experts (far more learned than any of us on here with regard to this topic) in the field of presidential history scored ALL the presidents on about 50 different presidential criteria. 170 of the most qualified experts.
When they tallied the scores (from both conservative & liberal leaning individuals), Trump was scored as the worst. Indeed, none of those judges (even the conservatives) ranked Trump higher than 3rd worse.

Yet, there's people on here, who somehow 'think' they know 'better' and they are very vocal in their support of Trump, while he destroys the country. I offer an alternative voice of reason to counteract the nonsense and the damage they do.
Indeed, they are. I also said we are all dumb, when compared to smarter people.
After all, it is a relative term. Sorry if you can't handle the truth.
A - Trump exaggerates everything. Don't be surprised, when less people show up.
How many individuals buy a Porche late at night with bags of money and no suitable transaction? rolling on the floor laughing
Wow ! You are extremely delusional.
It's no wonder, that you choose not to show your face on here.

Obama is ranked by the experts as the 8th best president the US has ever had.

How much Trump would have been able to 'accomplish' without the proper checks & balances, would have been frightful. He is corrupt.
Jim your picture on here is at least 15 years old so it most likely does not look like you do today?

Jenny
Jen, it's not new, but it's not that old.
The purpose it to let people quickly identify that it is a blog by me
and know, that I (literally) stand behind my word, nothing more.
When I choose to date someone, we would exchange much more recent photos first.
"General" everything is phony about you. There is no Jersey City, New York.
Jersey City is in NJ. If you lived anywhere near here, you would know that.
I've decided, that responding anymore to you is worthless. You are an idiot
& not worth my time.

Most that have replied to you are devout Trumpers...you cannot help them...they drank the koolaid...and in looking at their comments for the last couple of years...not terribly bright...

Fortunately...they are a minority...laugh

Keep up the good work...wine
Note the article was from 2014. Apparently, Trump said, "hold my chloroquinine". laugh

Regardless, this blog is about Trump, not Obama. Obama isn't president, didn't have 6 bankruptcies and isn't currently bankrupting the USA. This blog is about the actual worst president in US history, who is destroying this nation, Mr. Tiny Hands Trump.

If you want to somehow defend Trump's many bankruptcies, or his driving the national debt up with his permanent huge tax cut for the rich, and his ineptness in preparing for the impending Covid-19, feel free to do so. That is what THIS blog is about.

However, if you AGAIN wander off-topic, just to act like a troll, guess who's getting deleted.
Nailed it ! thumbs up

Amen to that ! Thank goodness !!
Otherwise, we would never be able to correct things.
They would Darwin award the entire nation with their stupidity.
Indeed, if Trump isn't shown the door in November, the country will continue to head in the direction
of extinction.
rolling on the floor laughing Well, at least you have a sense of humor.

We all know, that Trump is the WORST president the US has ever had.
All but the dumbest voters know this.
He's going to get less votes than last time, especially in battleground states.
Next year Melania files for divorce and a ghost writer for her pens a book, which is published after the divorce.
Trump will likely lose and it will be because of the truly horrible job he has done.
Merc

Looks like Leanne is having trouble with the truth...laugh

Trump started the fake news business...and his fake University...oh let us not forget the bankruptcies...or starting race wars...roll eyes
