The Facts About 777

Whereas the number 666 is very explicitly referenced in the bible, 777 is never mentioned. When trying to find an explanation, these were the most popular:

1. 777 represent the Trinity.
2. 7 Churches, 7 Stars/Angels and 7 Lamp stands.
3. 7 Horns, 7 Eyes and 7 Spirits of God.

There are many other instances of 7 being used. 7 is a very popular number in the bible; probably derived from the creation. So is 12; probably initiated by Jacob’s 12 sons. And 40; like the 40 days and 40 nights of rain during the deluge. 430 is another such number. And 5.

Mathematically there is nothing special about the number 7. It is the fourth prime number. Preceded by 2, 3 & 5 and followed by 11, 13, 17 etc. The factors for 777 (3 X 7 X 37) are equally unimpressive. From a pure mathematical viewpoint 666 is a much more interesting number.

I might be wrong, but as a lifelong biblical scholar, my conclusion is that 777 is a man made number without any foundation in the bible; therefore not holy at all.

So my question is: Who had the audacity to assign a number to God?

To assign a number to a god was a Babylonian practice. Could it be that 777 was ‘invented’ to get the attention to away from the pointing finger of 666 and its Babylonian origin? Remember, the Babylonian religion was amalgamated with the Christian Church in 425 ADE by command of the Roman emperor Constantine.

Hi India,

I again love numbers. The are so logical. Almost magic the way they balance. And the beauty of it that even the '0' is not less important than the others.

That is why the Romans were such lousy mathematicians. The did not know about '0'. The Greeks must have been canning themselves.

Hi NonSmoker.

Indeed so; also a little bit controversial. It may ruffle some feathers.

Did you know that those that carry 666 the evil ones, can not be taken off with holy water
Oddly enough, I think of the Boeing 777...which means I know very little about the origin of 777 in Theology.
Hi Zman,

I may join you there shortly. I only have 25 Mb of data left and not buying. I am getting a new internet router tomorrow with a better monthly data bundle included. Buying small bundles is a waste of time.

Hi Capricorn

It is good to see you again.

No, I did not know that. Now that is a very real number; and evil.

Hi Abagail,

I missed you for a few days too. sigh

Oddly, when I googled 777 the aircraft came up first too. More topical I suppose.

Hi Abagail,

Now I know very little about aircraft too, but when I was young I was an expert. I could quote the vital stats of almost every conceivable aircraft of the time; American, Russian, French, British, you name it.

Now...

Hi Cat,
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a great day! teddybear
haai cat

i thouht it was in bible. confused
I only seem to remember statistics when they are relevant to me, then I move on. So I understand how that works.
Hi ya Cat,

speaking of numbers here is one that deserves a good chew of a straw!

a) Now we all accept that 1/0 = ~ (one divided by nought equals infinity)

b) Then 1= 0.~ (one should equal nought times infinity)

c) and 0= 1/~ (nought should equal one divided by infinity)

Now the question is- although a) and b) seem to be mathematically sound, are they valid definitions?dunno confused

Hi Catfoot,

Interesting.
I also thought it was in the Bible.

Hi Bajanshay,

Interesting yes; and disturbing.

Hi Who,

No, it is nowhere in the bible. Not in any of the translations I know.

Hi Abagail,

Hmm, nothing to do with age; simply lost in time!

Hi Nancy,

Ditto to you; it is not in the bible.

A lesser known fact is that the number six gave control over the three main Babylonian gods; the father, the mother and the son.

According to the Babylonians Marduk, the sun god was married to the moon goddess. They were the parents of the all the other gods. This trinity made way to the more modern trinity of today.
Hi Hans,

The brain not only radiates certain wavelengths, but also receives them. It is very possible that diffent frequencies may enable or disable certain brain functions.
Hi dad cat
I add with multiply 7's in order to forgive othersteddybear
Oh dear me,

I had forgotten to mention that this blog was inspired by a little yellow bird who whispered something in my ear.
grin dancing
@ Cat - You are right, subjecting someone to different frequencies (Hz) can induce different brain activity for example: ...

1) Beta (14-40Hz) – The Waking Consciousness And Reasoning Wave

2) Alpha (7.5-14Hz) – The Deep Relaxation Wave

3) Theta (4-7.5Hz) – The Light Meditation And Sleeping Wave

4) Delta (0.5-4Hz) – The Deep Sleep Wave

5) Gamma (above 40Hz) – The Insight Wave

For those that don't understand Hz or Herz, it is the amount of beats/pulses per second.... professor
Hi Martha,

Yes, that is the closest reference to 777 in the bible. 70 times 7. First used by Daniel while in Babylon and again by Jesus.

At first I thought that 70 times 7 was used for 490 would have been an astronamocally large number to the illiterate Peter; until I found the other reference to it in Daniel.

Hi Hans

You have undoubtedly notice the very low frequencies.

Hi. Interesting subject, but I will keep silent.teddybear teddybear teddybear
Hi Ummka,

Why be silent girl.

If you know something that I don't know yet then I'm very inquisitive.

you may find this interesting.

Hi Stringman,

Indeed, most interesting. I will get my hands onto a NIV as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

@ Cat - That was only a very small sample, some of the frequencies used for healing range all the way up to 20,000 MHz... and are still safe to humans but not to viruses.. grin
CORRECTION: That was suposed to be 20 MHz.... doh
Hi Hans,

This is so very interesting. What I thought was only theory is in fact practice. Of course we wont know the side effects for years to come, maybe not for generations.
beer cheers
Hey Cat, this blog reminds me.. I bought some replica sports shirts the other day at a bargain store. The tag said the 3 shirts for six dollars and sixty six cents... but the cashier lady told me I was reading it wrong. It was actually 9.99 for 3 shirts.

I was so upset, we argued.. then she gave in and gave me a deal. She said "All right, I'll tell ya what I'l do. I'll give ya those shirts at 3.33 each."

I said "Well Aww rrright! Now, we got a deal!"

Cool! What a deal I got. huh? thumbs up laugh grin
@ Cat - A biblical example is the destruction of the walls of Jerico.... grin
Hi Robrt,

You are a better man than what I am. I would have insisted on paying 2.20 each.

A while ago at at supermarket checkout my eye caught a funny price as an item was scanned. I made such a fuzz that the manager 'gave' me the entire contents of the basket just to get rid of me.
