Playing Ball.
Last week I purchased three items I thought I’d never own, but right now they are probably the most important things I had ever possessed; a soccer ball, a tennis racquet and a tennis ball.I have never played soccer or tennis in my life. I played rugby and cricket.
My neighbour next door thinks I’m crazy for spoiling my garage wall like this. The paint job is ruined for I’ve been kicking and hitting balls at it whenever the rain had stopped for a while. I missed the soccer ball a few times in the beginning and I dropped the racquet even more times, but the results had been remarkable. I can hold a pencil again!
Once I missed the soccer ball so badly that I lost my balance and ended up on my butt; luckily nobody saw that. At another occasion the tennis racquet almost went though the garage window, but what the hell.
Success came when I started concentrating on returning the bouncing ball to the wall instead of thinking about holding the racquet. I think the subconscious action clinched it. In five days the tennis racquet did more than what the rubber ball - and seven sessions of very expensive therapy - did in three weeks.
Once I’m done I will paint the wall back to its original colour. Working with a paint roller will also be a new experience to me; for painting a wall is something else I had never done before.
Yesterday I started sawing wood and driving nails into wood. I got a blue thumbnail - !@*&%$! - for my trouble, but I’m getting there.

Please do try to be careful though.
Thank you.
Don't worry, I play ball on the lawn. Whocanitbe normally sits around watching me; as if I need a baby sitter. A real mother hen.
Hmm, where do you think I got the blue nail from? And remember, I am (or was) very skilled with wood working tools. Hitting my thumb with a hammer is something I would not do with my eyes closed.
you one crazy white man. you all crazy.
Before flinging you tennis racket at the soccer ball
Sounds great! Now you can play four kinds of ball games. Would you think over playing table-tennis at home if outside was a bad weather. It's also fun and useful, but... it is a bit hard to pick up that small ball running to the corner.
WELL DONE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
PS RUGBY IS A SO MUCH BETTER GAME
When I think of you I allways ask myself, Who is crazy?
I was going to throw in a sickle too, but I'm not that way inclined.
Does one have to hurt yourself to prove manhood?
I tried tabletennis once before but did not like it.
Hmm, the secret id to do something. Even if you cannot at first. Sometimes we are too scared rhat somebody may laugh at us.
That is the curse about my writing. I cannote write without detail. I cannot be concise.
Sorry, no such humble beginnings for me. I hear our national team is looking for a coach. I'll let them play tennis; they certainly can't play football.
Keep on trying and take care
I allways take care, girl. I'm on the roll now. Ready to conquer the world. For now I'm happy to take my hard drive for a spin, but next week I take the car. I'm almost ready now.
Ouch, I almost missed you. Sorry old chap. Ok take 4; just a silly old in off.
And remember I'm watching you...
Thanks for the good news.
I did not know what to do to laugh or cry...
I am very pleased... very...
No, my daughter has gone back to Pretoria and I take my own medication now.
I still sleep more than what I used to, but not as much as when she slipped it in my coffee. If all goes according to plan, I'd be visiting her for a month or so soon.
Thanks
I hope I don't pull such faces when I'm behind the wheel.
It is nice to know that your self chosen therapy is working for you....you were a ruggerite and a cricketer- two of the more popular games in Sri Lanka and that body contact sport and the gentleman's game are known to sculpt rugged specimens of manhood. Therefore I know you have had a good foundation and the best recipe for health so bouncing back to normal would be comparatively easy for you.
Keep it up ..and go easy on the language when the hammer hits your fingers
May God bless you.
Uma
Sorry for only replying now, but I was away for a while.
I'm back!!
