To Love Or Not To Love
You can stay as you are for the rest of your life… or you can love again. If you don’t try something, you will never know what it is like. And you can easily miss out on the love of your life; or you can be hurt again.
We don’t process our hurt in the same way. Some take it harder than others but that does not mean that the hurt is less. We all hurt the same. Some just deal with it better. Some suffer in solitude, some cope in silence while some recover in numbers. Never be obsessed with love. Obsession is the shortcut do disaster.
The quickest way to heal a broken heart is good gay company. Laughter remains the best medicine.
I have used the term 'It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved - Alfred Lord Tennyson' a few times in my comments during the last month to test the reaction. Of course the more accepted use of the phrase is 'It is better to have tried and failed than not to have tried at all – Teddy Roosevelt' though the first form was used in a poem as early as 1850. But then it was just a poem and can easily be offset by many other writings such as 'If I never loved I never would have cried – Simon & Garfunkel'.
When we are hurt in love we carry half the blame for picking the wrong person to fall in love with and the rest of the blame is also ours; for not wanting to see the signs before it was too late. After all, nobody forces us to fall in love. In all other things we learn by our mistakes. Why can’t we keep our eyes open in love too? For love is not blind. We just don’t want to see the flaws in the object of our love.
Nothing worth the while is ever easy. Why do we sometimes expect love to just fall into our laps. It don't come easy.
But the question is: 'Is it worth to throw away a lifetime’s happiness because you were hurt before?'
Only you will know the answer to that.

As we grow older we all carry scars of past experiences. The main thing is that nothing should fester under the scar. Sometimes we have to scratch it open again to heal properly; even if it going to leavw a bigger scar.
Somebody told me today: "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow."
As for me if the lifetime is longer than the hurt time,I prefer that "longer time". for sure.
All those shipwrecks in the past were just lessons in how to finally navigate your dreamboat.
Excuses are invented to present reasons for failure. It is easier to do the job properly in the first place than to think out excuses all the time as to why you have failed.
That is the spirit. When love comes knocking at your door just open up and let it in.

The only problem is that some of us live so hard for today and hope too much for tomorrow and forget to learn from yesterday.

I think love will win in the end if given a chance. The funny thing - at least my case - you do not remember all the hurt. Only the most recent. From other previous shipwrecked relationships I remember the good.
Love is a short four letter word for a much bigger thing. Something that not even science can define but one thing is for sure; it is here to stay. We all fall in love sometimes.

I guess at some stage the physical nature of love makes way for nostalgia. A time when the question is no longer 'Where shall we go tonight?' but 'Do you still remember... ?'

how about if the persons have tried their best to reach a lifetime happiness, but they always ended with hurt? not b'coz he /she want to, but coz of their fate? their never have a chance to feel a life time happiness even till the end of their life. how do they know the answer?
While I can accept that that is the humble beginnings of a moth, I just cannot picture a butterfly having the same obscure origins.

I do not know the answer to that; only you will.
But I do know that few people had been disappointed as often as I was and I had not given up yet. Every time I stand up, wipe the dust off me and proceed in my quest. And every time I got up I was a bit stronger and a bit more resilient.
A recent small disappointment can easily obscure a much larger one in the distant past. Your later disappointments teaches you to cope with the older ones.
Experience is not always a good teacher. Mostly he gives the test before the lesson.
