Our Changing World.
Things change around us all the time. We cannot always keep up. It is as they say: The only constant in life is change. When I was young:
Coke was a soft drink.
Memory was something you lost with age.
An application was for employment.
A program was a TV show.
A cursor used crude words.
A keyboard was a piano.
A web was a spider's home.
A mouse was a rodent.
A virus was the flu.
A bug was an insect.
A CD was a cash deposit.
A hard drive was a long trip on the road.
And if you had a 3-inch floppy...
You just hoped nobody ever found out!
But other things changed as well.
Since I was a baby my mom taught me to speak and when I could, she told me to shut up.
When I was ten my mom told me to grow up but when I did, she told me I’m to big for my boots.
When we were newly married my ex-wife ignored it when I dropped a wind but 5 years later she said I will still fart her out the house.
In the beginning, when I came from work, she brought my slippers and our new puppy yapped at me; in the end my dog brought the slippers and she yapped at me. I suppose this was not a real change. I still got the same service.
In the beginning she loved me like a devil but in the end she was giving me straigh hell.
When I was young she told me I look like a Greek god but the other day when I bumped into her, she told me: My God, you look like a Greek.
Now tell me everything is still the same.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Nahhh, Nothing is the same man.....everyday I go through the 80's.
Just much more life
lol! SO was there a meaning for Online ?
I guess if nothing changes then it remains the same.
Or is there another possibility that I overlooked.
Change is a constant.
We even have to change our socks daily.
Thank you for reminding me. So true! hope you are having a great weekend.
Hmm, I suppose we cannot count the changes in terminology. And yes, things have stayed remarkably the same as well.
We still have highway robbers and the stagecoach is still being held up and robbed. Only the stagecoach now looks a bit different. And the guy riding shotgun is now inside and not on top.
I think Zman answered you as well as anybody else could. I cannot add anything to his wisdom.
Hmm, nothing like a good old fashioned one night stand.
Sometimes you can come up with wisdom that is beyond our age.
I loved it.
Yes, so true.
But you forgot about the dentures in the glass next to the bed. And the... Shucks! I forgot what else I wanted to say.
What is the name of that sickness again?
So true; when I was young I had an 8-track stereo in my car and a one track mind. Somehow that did not change much. Now I have a music centre in my lounge and a mind full of nostalgic memories.
poignant very often thought I'd better get in quick before someone else thought of it
Life is so full of surprises. You cannot go through it without enjoying it.
Now that is a thought; for feeling can linger for a lifetime.
Oh, you won't even notice it. You see, we are the same person. We just cannot decide who of us is the leading character.
But traveling from here to Spain between comments is quite tiresome. Luckily the difference in time is only one hour; so no jetlag.
And like you said. nothing but change (word) alone is unchanging...
Tatami, now that is so true...they remain forever but the intensity of that feelings, does, change..
Thanks Cat..
My old cd,s hang on string to chase birds off seeds I plant so they are still of some use, and they do still make a tune blowing in the wind. I must change where I live almost every year these days just to keep pace with myself no-one else can catch me that be why I am here.
It seems that you know all. I can tell you nothing new.
Yes, but remember; the truth is relative to the speaker. There is no longer an absolute truth. It now is how each individual perceives it.
Have good evening cat
I'm the kitten. You are suppose to play with me.
catch? or is it fetch
Changes make me sad sometimes...
Another great blog, thank you.
Eish, why does that sound like a one night stand again. I have been chastised enough about that for a life time.
Re the blood pressure; I'm on medication for that but I makes me too placid at times. So when I need to get difficult, like when I see my bank manager, I skip my medication. One needs a bit of blood pressure sometimes.
Good for you if you gave it up,
I gave it up 30 years ago.
shhhhhhhhhhhh...remember im sober
I got a chuckle out of how you described change in your life.
Thanks for the good laugh.
