Doubled Membership Fees?
I have heard it on good authority from an undisclosed source via an anonymous email that CS is going to double our membership fees. This increase will be backdated to January 2014 and all arrears will be recovered in due course.
The increase was necessitated by the loss of income due to suspended members refusing to pay their membership fees.
However, it is not all bad news as they promised a 20% discount based on the new membership fees until such time they can organize a new chat room provider; so until then we will only pay 60% more than what we currently have to pay.
As a guide to calculate your new membership fees, divide it by 5 and multiply with 8.
Actually, we should not see this as bad because it is a small price to pay considering all the activities we enjoy here on CS. We should rather see it as an investment in our own futures. CS will be worth it, even if they triple the membership fees.
It was also said that any person not happy with the increase will be refunded a pro rata portion of their membership fees if they decide to leave during the month. No notice will be required and the refund will be done automatically.
The CS management were not available for comment and did not confirm or deny the rumors.
Of course, it is possible that this is a hoax but it is unlikely as it is the first time I get information from this source and therefore I have not received false information from them yet. I have to believe it until proved otherwise.

Did they say if the 100% increase will be applicable on your free membership? And dy you qualify for any further discounts?

By the way, they also offer a 1% discount on your membership fees for each blog or poem (Terms and Conditions apply) that you post.
I believe it is not normal to get a reduction in fees for dementia but I heat the will make exceptions if you forget to pay.
Glad they were willing to exempt you from the increase.

Yes, we are lucky the increase in fees is only 100%. It could have been 200% and we would still have paid it.
