The Famdamily again
A cousin, twice removed (my grandfather was her great-great-grandfather), who now lives a thousand miles from here, called me the other day. She asked if they (her husband and three children) could spend a few days with me when they visit Cape Town during the school holidays. I am very fond of her, so naturally, I said yes. Then came the second request. Will it be a problem if her husband’s twin brother comes along? I started seeing problems. He is also married with three children. I already have misgivings about her husband and if I have to put up with a look-alike as well, it was not something to look forward to. After a moment of doubt, I reluctantly agreed.
But it was still not the end. They will be coming to Cape Town by bus, she explained, and will need transportation. It will be ‘very much appreciated’ if they could use my car while they are here. I made such a mistake before; I was certainly not going to do it again. I suppose I could have offered them the use of my dilapidated one-ton pick-up truck, but I curtly refused the request. She sounded a bit disappointed but promised to make another plan.
Well, a plan they made. I expected them on Monday but they arrived out of the blue earlier today in two shiny white Japanese cars. The terrible twins, their spouses and six children between them, their ages ranging from two to eleven. Mercifully, they will be leaving for another family member on Tuesday or Wednesday. I’m hoping for Tuesday rather than Wednesday.
Six little angels.
They have only been here for only a few hours and already I’m up the bend. I politely excused myself with the story that I have important work to do and withdrew upstairs to my playroom. The kids are up and down the wooden staircase driving me mad. I will have to stop it before I go completely nuts. I wonder if one can buy nerve gas at the pharmacy.
Enjoy your weekend; I won’t have the opportunity to do that.

We're doing fine. All the inner walls have been destroyed but thankfully three of the outer walls are still intact.
I of course love children and their company. Take it easy.
Bit of a cheek, I think. Maybe they wanted to bring a little cheer into Crusty Uncle Cat's life.
Hey, I wonder.. do you think you can take them for a fishing? I am sure it will be their unforgetable experience.
I have my mum, my cousin's husband and shortly afterwards my brother with 3 teenage kids staying for A WEEK!
I really, really do look forward to most of them.
I tried to tell them about when little red riding hood wet to visit the three little pigs but the told me to get my facts right before I speak.
I am used to family unpacking at my place when they visit Cape Town, but yikes!!. Do the have to come 10 at a time?
This time of the tear I don't go anywhere near the fish waters. It is too dangerous. It was a sunny day but very windy outside.
If the cat was not missing, he would have scooted off in anyway with all the people around. Maybe he knew what was afoot.
Sounds like good advice but I'm not the one to be subdued. I'm quiet and non-destructive. I need a way to put THEM to sleep. Just as well they came now and not in six months time. The twin brother's wife is six months pregnant. It would have been pajama drill as well.
And why only most of them?
They look pretty cute to me.

Awww! Come On, dude!
Give Them A Break! Let them enjoy their stay.
As I said, little angels, but look how scorched their wings are. I wonder where that happened.
The weather is too bad for anything but they have plans of their own. They're not so bad and I'm just pretending to be grumpy.
..........
It's 2:00pm here!
9:25 pm. Time for got chocolate.
Doing this summer season here!
It's too hot! For that....
It is cold here and we have only reached the middle of the winter now. Our spring is suppose to start in September but it normally only gets warmer in November. February and March are the best months in Cape Town. Nice warm days and glorious nights. Little or no wind. It is out of season and the best time to be here.
I doubt it. You had more contact with my mother's family. This far-off cousin is the great granddaughter of my father's eldest brother, now long deceased. We lost contact with this part of the family until about 30 years ago.
Happy little angels! I suppose they can consist of a band. BTW.I like the smile of "Stalin" more.
Enjoy the moment with them.
My deepest sympathies...lol...
Only 2,3 & 4 (mugabe,Amin and Ghadaffi) are 'blood' related. They are first cousins to me, thrice removed. Numbers 1 and 5 belong to the other twin from a previous marriage while number six belongs to his (the other twin's) current spouse.
Quite so, They went tobed early and they woke up early.
Enjoying it? I don't think it's funny.
