Eating Weird stuff

We constantly hear from vegetarians that eating meat and other foods is bad and we should think of the animals...

What about the rights of vegetables? Surely they feel pain in some way or another?

I’m not knocking vegetarians etc. they have a right to their opinions.
I myself am a vagitarian when the mood strikes.

There is another group we don’t hear much about, it falls under the name “Pica” which (thanks to Wikipedia) means the consumption of substances with no significant nutritional value, This often happens with pregnant women.

Some examples:-
• Cautopyreiophagia (burnt matches)
• Coniophobia (dust)
• Coprophagia (feces)
• Emetophagia (vomit)
• Geomelophagia (raw potatoes)
• Geophagia (dirt, soil, clay)

Do you eat anything like this? (perhaps when pregnant) and why?

Pregnancy confused oh yes I remember it well, though I didn't feel much like eating at all at the time, as my stomach swelled doh and the pain wow ....... silly me that wasn't pregnancy, it was constipation professor grin
Good Morning Map! I see you´re at it again.. laugh

Who wants to eat these things, pregnant or not? barf

The only craving I had when I was pregnant was séx!

And maybe also some strawberries in the middle of the winter.

Hi there
Some vegetarians have and love their pets, like dogs or cats, pretty much. Do they feed only vegetables to their pets? I wonder.. dunno
As for the eating weird stuff? Nope, never done that. wave
Kal, I think dogs can survive on a vegetarian diet, but not cats..as far as I know

I don't really think it is far to force your views on even your animals though!laugh
Excuse my tardiness, was out for a Spanish Breakfast, Z will think its weird.(tostado con tomate, olive oil and jamon)

Z, That made me laugh!

diova, now thats a weird craving, did you ever eat/drink any of it?

Daniela, That's not weird, its nice.

Molly, Being vanilla is OK, Ive not met anyone who ate that stuff, did see 2 girls one cup...enough said.

Kal, Thats a really good point, Dr.Molly has spoken the words of eternal wisdom as usual.
Of course not, Map laugh although my craving was real and overwhelming.
Hi Berry, again not so bad, it will take a lot to beat diovas cravings though.
if we all became vegetarians and vegans

all those animals ,who now be eaten by meat lovers get extinct ,
because there is no demand for meat then ,and to expensive to keep them alive.who will be benefit from it ,nobody.
human are carnivore and need animal protein to stay healthy and strong,

The only thing that was weird about my cravings when I expected my daughter was that I can't stand the taste of lemon and I don't eat potatoes, yet, I ate lemons like oranges and potato chips drenched in salt and vinegar dunno

It isn't a film I have on my to-watch list for some reason.
Molly..DO NOT watch that movie under any circumstances, you will never be the same again, I watched a few seconds and ran to the hills screaming.
what other films have you watched (for research purposes of course) , that I should avoid? popcorn
Cool..that is close enough for me to call out to soon for a look.
@Dutch. Sorry to disagree with you but humans were originally HERBIVORES.

And, we DO NOT need animal protein!

Horses, elephants etc. are also herbivores and grow very strong and healthy without any meat - and so do we.
As for dogs& cats, being predators, they always have been carnivorous.

Trying to put them on a vegetarian diet would be unnatural, the same as giving meat to a horse. doh

However, if it´s a carefully planned diet, a dog could survive without meat.

Also, regarding the meat which is used in dog food, the animals are not bred or killed especially for dog food, but it is the remainders of the animals - some parts being for human consumption, while others for animals.
When I was pregnant with my son I never craved anything weird stuff unless you would consider a cucumber and Ice cream weird just not together in the same dish.

I knew a woman who was pregnant and ate sardines and pickles together.Yucky.
I craved KFC mashed potatoes and gravy when I was pregnant....might as well have been dirt lol.

I felt nauseous whenever I smelled pizza. I love pizza! That was kind of a hard time grin
Sounds like a Kinder Bueno
Molly, The pharmacy wont give me some, any ideas where I can obtain my cure?
Try an online store
Just googled it...few prospects

This has really been a poor attempt at a blog, maybe its time to enter into a pact with the devil.
Once in a night club, i saw a guy EATING his GLASS, after he drunk a beer. No kidding. I know what i saw.
I must confess...blushing .....i am partial to cereal boxes...just hate the contents....
Ekself...I assume you are talking about chongololos, they are full of protein and what ever else, I turned out OK, no need to change your opinion..ever tried a chongalolo bunnychow?

Cal, Interesting, did you actually eat the cardboard?
I'd never been interested in Avocados. Didn't like the look of it. Didn't care to taste it. Then I woke up in the middle of the night 5 months into my pregnancy absolutely craving the stuff. So strange cos I had never tasted it before. Ive loved it since
Cal..Perhaps I should eat cardboard, might help my figure

Yun, Avocado and bacon...yes please
It has already been proven in the lab that plants feel something akin to pain and if you hurt one plant, the one next to it will cringe when you approach it too. They communicate by spinning the iron molecules in their cells which generates a weak VLF radio signal which nearby plants react to. I this fashion an entire forest will curl their leaves when a storm reaches the first plant and it signals the arrival of rain or strong wind. Pain too as described and they definitely react to fire on a nearby plant. So do not presume that because they have no vocal cords or CNS they are any less aware or a life form than you are. Everything has a soul, even a plant and we are but their wardens.
Ken, that's an excellent comment thanks
Brilliant Ken. thumbs up
It is imperative that we all become breatharians...
