Look At My Beautiful Lawn
With the current drought in the Western Cape we only have water until April 12, 2018. Water restrictions are in force and we may not water our gardens. We use bath water to flush our toilets and dishwater to water the plants.I have a tiny enclosed backyard (±24 squared meters) as part of my one-bedroom dwelling and the lawn has given notice and departed for greener pastures a long time ago. Only the sand remained. I wish I had the savvy to take a pic of how it looked before.
I decided to make a plan about this arid semi desert landscape that I called a back yard. The best quote for artificial lawn came to R 9,000. After checking the prices I found that this artificial lawn will cost me much cheaper if I do it myself. There is no ways that I’m going to pay a half-witted idiot R 3,000 for a few hours work. More than half the people in this country does not earn that in a month.
I showed the quotes to my sister and asked her, seen that it is her property, if she would carry half the expense but she said that she cannot bothered with lawn in my backyard and if I wanted lawn there, it was my baby. I said ok, in which case I’ll roll it up and take it with me when I decide to move away.
I tackled the job on Saturday. Four and a half hours and R 6,000 later, I had the most beautiful lawn in Cape Town. And I'd never have to water it again.
I spent a few Rand extra on a few other things. Even the flowers are artificial.
From the other side it looks like this. My sister liked it so much that she reimbursed me with half the amount on the quote on the spot and she wants me to do a piece of her yard as well. Well, at least I’ll know how to quote for the job. She and her husband went out on Sunday and I had to make my own Sunday lunch. I invited BeaPatient to come over for the day and she did the salads. See! My fire is going.
Look at her trying to hide in the only piece of shade around.
And I had to suffer in the sun in front of a sizzling-hot fire to get the meat done. I think next time I’ll make the salads and let her stand in the sun.
Now, have a whale of a week, will ya!

We're not related at all. We grew up together. Her brother is my best friend and she is a friend of my sister. Bea and my sister were born on the same day, only hours apart.
I'd be in Omaha, Nebraska.

Her brother and I had to look after our baby sisters and we changed their nappies. I love her like I love own my sister. She's been a great fiend through the years but there will never be anything more between us. She is my sister.

Strange? Me? nobody ever called me that before.
You're goading me? I never knew.
Bea showed me a blog the other day she wrote about when we were young. I shot it down. too many personal things but she's stubborn enough to post it. She does not always listen to her brother.
Hell! Yes., That Is What Bobbie Will Say.
it is simple. Almost like socialism. We all took responsibility for all our sisters and we kept it in the clan. Not even when my sister got divorced from #2 did it mar the friendship. They decided to divorce ten years before the time but stuck it out with each other to see the children off to a proper education before they finally separated. I respected both of them for that.
Of course I'm her brother. Why else does she come crying on my shoulder every time a relationship goes wrong. When she got cold feet on her wedding day, she came to hide with me. I'm her brother.
::hug:
Women are wiley creatures
We all knew it and we tried very hard to patch them up again. They agreed to proceed as normal until the children were ready to leave home. but in the end they parted.
.Now what should I comment on?
i had to look up 'snog' before responding. Another new word to me.
Noooo! i could not do that. She's my sister.
That is the nature of most my blogs. They tend to veer off and I'm not good at steering it back on track. You may comment about anything. You can even call my State President a fool. Mind you, that could be classified information.
One Day Bob Will Have A Blog Title!
" I Am In love With My Sister "
LOL!.....
with the two of you looking so alike I thought it was her commenting until I saw your name.on top.
A very nice garden. Thank you for sharing the photos.
@Mimi
I cannot believe that those are artificial plants!
Remember the prank Bea and I played about two years ago?. When we pretended to be in love and in a hurry to marry..
Her blog the day before paved the way and everybody forgot that it was the 1st of April when I announced the 'big news'.
When you see a blog saying that, check the date.
Thank you. I should have done it a long time ago but I have been too stingy. R 6000 may be a little money when you convert it to dollars but it is a lot of money in this country. It is four times more than a disability or an old age grant.

Its in Mollys first post.
. Hush! " I Never Said That! I Forgot."
Cape town, the city that I live in is, stricken by a severe drought and we only have enough water. The date on which we we wiill run out of water if it does not rain well before is the 12th of April 2018 and it is referred to a Zero Day. We're all still hoping for rain but it is unlikely as our rainy season only starts later.
Bob
