The Superbowl Winners to meet with Mueller lol
I'm not sure if you have been following this situation, or not.But Dirty Don Trump started a whole big to do, because several of the black
football players decided to respectfully kneel, instead of stand up,
during playing of the USA national anthem.
They did so, because they (and others) believe that minorities are being targeted
by the police resulting in a much higher percentage of minority individuals in jail
and also being killed during arrests.
This is NOT Nazi Germany. There is no law stating that one has to stand.
But Trump and thus his mindless followers began boycotting (American) football games
putting some economic pressure on the NFL to make a change.
So, the NFL (National Football League) came out with a ruling, that players either have to
stand for the anthem, or remain in the locker room this year.
That may not make a difference, because so far, at least 2 teams agreed to pay player fines,
if they choose to kneel.
If interfering in sports (Dirty Don also withdrew an basketball champion meeting offer)
isn't bad enough Dirty Don withdrew an invitation to the Whitehouse for the Philadelphia Eagles,
the team that won the Superbowl in the beginning of this year.
Every team that has won the Superbowl has been invited and welcomed to the Whitehouse by past presidents.
But this year, Dirty Don Trump withdraws the invitation. The reason he withdraws the invitation,
is because he believes that there was Eagle players who took knee during the National Anthem.
He believes this, not from watching the games, as no Philadelphia Eagle player took a knee
during the entire football season during the National Anthem.
Instead, he saw pictures of players kneeling to pray long before the anthem was played.
What a moron !
So anyway, here is comedian Andy Borowitz's satiric column today in The New Yorker in response to this;

Philadelphia Eagles Accept Mueller’s Offer to Celebrate With Him

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—The Philadelphia Eagles have accepted Robert Mueller’s invitation
to come to his office and celebrate their Super Bowl victory with him, Mueller has confirmed.
The special counsel said that he was “absolutely tickled” that the Eagles had accepted his invitation.
“I’m a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, and it turns out the feeling is mutual,” he said.
According to one member of the team, the Eagles accepted Mueller’s invitation only after being assured
that their visit would not in any way distract the special counsel from “getting his job done.”
“What Bob Mueller is doing is so much more important than any Super Bowl,” the Eagle player said.
“If he wins, the whole world wins.”
For his part, Mueller praised the Eagles for responding to his invitation so quickly, adding,
“I invited Trump to see me months ago, and I still haven’t heard back.”

Have you heard this ?
Many use the time to hit the restroom & grab a beer before the game starts.
You know. Just like they do when they're watching the game
Stupid 'send' button
Patriotic Beer Barrel Polka!
Great added benefit...
Folks will remember the words!
Even if they've hammered back a few brewskies tailgating prior to the game!
I don't know what you're talking about, merc...
Everyone has a right to watch the games (if they can get it) or not.
Everyone has a right to peacefully protest, or not.
Personally, I will continue to watch & enjoy the games,
and I will also root on those who peacefully protest
as an effort to make positive social change.
Indeed, I will celebrate that in America, we have the legal right to peacefully protest.
It separates us from dictatorships, where people do not get that right.
Equality and fair treatment are 2 of those things.
And by the way, the NFL is doing just fine. They did not "lose" money.
They just didn't make record levels of money.
I think they will survive without you and others like you.
I think some of you might enjoy it.
Keep the NFL presentation of the anthem exactly as it has become.
Patriotism Payola & all...
Gaudy & garish.
Painfully tortured cacophony passed off as 'music'/'artistic expression'.
Extolls militarism.
Money buys speech.
Provides a venue for protests/causes/victimgroups.
Promotes social/racial/socio-economic Division.
Provides time slot for selling beer (and disposing of used beer).
The NFL has captured the very essence of Murka
No folks. That's sarcasm. Dump the whole thing.
It was first performed at a sporting event (baseball) to foster patriotism & unity during WWI. It had a good run.
But it's been twisted into a grotesque caricature of itself; outlived its purpose and any dignity it may have once had.
Just play the game.
IMO
It was a good start. End the practice.
The office of POTUS shouldn't be a de facto promotional photo-op for professional sports.
Let professional teams do & pay for their own publicity.
SEPARATION OF SPORTS AND STATE!
IMO
...If it wasn't initiated in 2009 - when the Defense Department started paying for patriotic displays - it was at least encouraged & more or less formalized.
To the tune of $millions paid to NFL franchises.
You are a COMPLETE IDIOT!
Thank you mic for understanding real intelligence
The Vikings franchise doesn't want their players injured when falling on hard empty seats.
Yes, nastics.
A team's record definitely has something to do with filling seats.
Trump has done nothing to create jobs or positively influence the economy.
Indeed, more people are LEAVING the job market.
The economy is just a continuation of the Obama recovery.
Trump just hasn't done enough harm YET to destroy the economy.
However, we are beginning to see a flattening due to the tariff situation;
Infrastructure has been kicked to the kerb too.
Jim
Here is the Dow Jones Industrials Average for the past 100 years.
You see that valley in the graph at about 2008 ?
That's due to the housing bubble burst causing the great recession.
Obama reversed that with what was controversial at the time, bailouts for key industries.
Those bailouts were responsible for getting us out of that recession and
the economy has been increasing since.
Trump has done nothing to improve this and one does not see a significant change in the direction
in the graph nor data. The change was under Obama.
Here is unemployment for the past 10 years
Note when the change in the direction occurred - long before Trump.
I'm on your side I loath Trump.
I speak 12 languages to cater for my 12 personalities.
He's talking some nearly unintelligible lingo so I'm guessing he's another foreigner - like you!
I reckon you savvy that owlhoot's palaver right clear.
Great rebuttal!
Yeah, I'm somewhat surprised that a lot of the dumbest voters were tricked by the Russian hacking, flooding the internet, demonizing Hillary too !
All because Hillary would have been tough on the Russian invasions, rather than coddling them like Trump has done.
But, we should never underestimate stupidity.
