Charity

I used to pass a homeless man on my walk to work, many years ago. He would be sitting in the same shop doorway every morning, huddled underneath his dirty blanket. I would always drop a pound coin into the little plastic cup that was always standing on the pavement, next to his feet. One morning, a work colleague saw me putting money in the cup, and later commented that I was probably only doing it in order to feel good about myself, rather than out of any genuine concern for the homeless man. I gave a lot of thought to what he had said, and in the end I had to admit to myself that he was right. I was, indeed, using that poor down and out to boost my own self esteem. Of course, as soon as I realised this I stopped giving him money, even though this did cause me a minor inconvenience in having to walk a different, slightly longer way to work.

Since then, I have, on principle, never donated a penny to any charity. I do sometimes feel guilty about this, as there are many worthy causes out there, all in need of funds to execute their good works, but If guilt is the price I must pay for doing the right thing, I am prepared to make that sacrifice.

Before I am held up as some kind of paragon of virtue, I must admit that I have made a small concession to charitable giving. There is a scheme on Facebook whereby one can donate one’s birthday to a charitable cause. I am not really sure how that generates income for the charities, but if they can make a few quid out of something I didn’t really use anyway, good luck to them. I also donated an old wedding anniversary that I don’t need any more.

An unfamiliar term

I inadvertently came across an unfamiliar term the other day that both shocked and intrigued me. That term was, “internet shill”.

I would certainly not call myself a man of the world, nor do I consider myself particularly “street wise”, but neither did I think I was as innocent and naive as it appears I am. When I saw what an internet shill was, I could hardly believe there could be such a thing. This is a description:

An Internet shill is someone who promotes something or someone online for pay without divulging that they are associated with the entity they shill for.
A shill might create a Facebook or Twitter account, set up a blog or simply comment through these and other channels, such as discussion forums. The purpose is to artificially improve the social perception of the entity shilled for. Shills promote companies, products, public figures and viewpoints for profit, while pretending to have no motivation for doing so other than personal belief. Alternatively, they sometimes denigrate someone or something, such as a political viewpoint or a competitor’s product, that is in conflict with the entity they serve.

Now what sort of person would be so lacking in integrity that they could do this? What sort of lying ratbag bastard could prostitute himself in this despicable way? I’m still not sure that I believe there are such people, and I know I don’t want to believe it. Am I too trusting; do I have too much faith in my fellow man?

Believe what you want to believe...

People believe what they want to believe, no matter how much contrary evidence you show them.
Last week, someone commented on an old blog that Obama wasn't born in America. Yeah, the birther movement, it's still alive... started by (name omitted) and years later, after America became divided and wasted millions of hours in dispute, were unable to prove that statement. (name omitted) admitted it was fabricated. Everyone heard he came from Africa. Apparently only a few heard it wasn't true, or at least don't want to change their belief.

Some people believe the insurrection on January 6th was a peaceful protest.
Believe what you want to believe...

Ethnicity: Native American

One of the profile selections allows you to state your Ethnicity. This must be open to interpretation as lots of black girls say they are Caucasian. Another choice that is mistaken is Native American.
Last I checked Native American was for the race of people who were already living here when settlers came to America from Europe, took their land and pushed them into reservations.

For clarification... None of those 'Indians' had blonde hair and blue eyes. So if your great grandfather came from Germany or Poland, Caucasian would be the correct selection and not Native American.

That's my PSA (Public Service Announcement) for the month.

Live: Miserable leftards being miserable leftards

Their lives are so good that they can go to Mount Rushmore and block the road to stop people who simply want to hear their president and enjoy some fireworks and some good old fashioned patriotism. The protesters are uber offended that the land was once occupied by Native Americans - of course none would be able to answer if you asked them who occupied the land prior to the Native Americans... such is life. Some people are just so privileged that they're determined to be irresponsible and try and ruin things for everyone and find things to be offended about. Of course they have zero problem with looters, rioters, arson, mob violence and murder. All those noble things, you hear.

Anyway tune in now to see the leftards meet the response they desired smile

Remember the Carnivals when you were a kid?

I remember seeing a normally desolate field transformed in one day to a place FULL of flashing lights, the smell of caramel corn, hot dogs, games, rides, funky music, and maybe even a magic show! Right? Well, Folks......we're still there..........The lights are made to mesmerize, the food is full of glyphosates that cause Cancer, the music is full of subliminal programming (such a self-proclaimed Satanist - Katy Perry who has openly admitted on two different Interviews that she follows the Dark Side - look at her videos!!!), and the "Shows" are meant to lull you into a dull-minded stupor............all for the sake of Profit and control...
What can we do? Realize that the media is FULLY OWNED by the Dark Side will tell you NOTHING of the truth! (see earlier Blogs RIGHT HERE!) Their JOB is to keep you hating others - of a different Political view; of a different color of skin. etc. while the Dark Side make TONS of Profit on YOUR SUFFERING! And these people are NOT just one Political Party - to believe that is simplistic. "They" are a multinational Group of Businessmen whose ONLY agenda is to keep you stupid, and gullible. Take your Power back!!!!!!!!!! BE AWARE! Do your own research! Don't hide your head in the sand and think the "Carnival" will take care of you. The more of us that WAKE UP the harder it will be for the Dark to keep control. It is TIME TO REMOVE THEIR POWER FOR GOOD!

I met Iggy last week...

Iggy was hanging out in a tree on the canal by the warehouse. It was a sunny day and he was enjoying himself. Out of range for my camera to take a clear picture, but you get the idea. Not a pretty sight.

Later in the week he was on my side of the canal, much closer. Easily six feet long from tip to tail. When he saw me, he did the 'neck flash' routine as though to dare me to walk over.

No thanks Iggy, I know one strike from your tail could inflict some serious pain.
