(The Rise And Fall Of) Pride

Why should the spirit of mortals be proud?
Like a quick speeding meteor
A fast moving cloud!

A flash of lightning
A break of the wave,
Man passed from life
To rest in his grave.

Let pride go, lest shame follow after

Our pride, reasoning pride
Our error does lie
All quit their spheres
And rush to the skies.

Pride still aiming at blessings that abode,
Men would be angels,
Angels would be gods.

About this poem:
An observation of how pride can raise us up and so easily bring us down if we don't keep it in check.

Allegory

We’re estranged from each other, live on separate isles in the ocean of life,
We're destined to live on our own with waters enclasping the isles.
We’re drifting farther apart, by God's will we have lost our ties.
The watery plain lies between,in the ocean of life we’re enisled.

About this poem:
It looks like a 50 word something, but I very much doubt it.

guitar

I spent Monday just walking through town.. searching for magical.. timbers of brown

Tuesday's arrival.. flooded my deck.. from the truest of branches.. I fashioned your neck

I spent Wednesday doing nothing at all.. till a bird with your voice.. sung out from a wall

You told me to hurry.. in the words of a song.. you told me that Thursday.. wouldn't be long

Friday's new coat.. hung from my bed..I made every string.. from a hair of your head

I took you to concerts.. I heard your notes fly.. migrating to consciousness.. nesting in sky

Stuck in Traffic

Fast was spoken
Those harsh words
Whistles blowing
Fingers pointing
Commanding my attention
Directing me places
I didn’t want to go
My life… a big detour
Stuck in a hot swell
Of stinking exhaust
Plumes falling apart
Black clouds parting
Ushering me in
And swallowing
Me whole

As a Droplet Of The Sea

As a droplet of the sea
I thought - I expected - I wished
To vaporise - vanish into the colourlessness
To fall down again completing the cycle
As the right time comes, but here
I was Rose. Trying to dance at Loughnassa,
Yet as Sysyphus got to roll on the past stone.
And you. You thought you were Zeus,
But no, not one nor Hercules.
No trace of nobility in thy glacial, bronzed eyes.
You were simply the life pariah and I tried,
Tried to bring relief to your, by now,
Utterly altered lips. Your hands. Stained.
Tangled in the continuous web of silence.

The angel's halo shone lit up by the dim light
Of the coal - inky, plastic lamp.
Its not dim but more.
My confidantes, my girls of Paradise,
I was becoming the one but your arms
Opened in a half embrace welcoming
The droplets of melancholy
Soon to be diamonds of the history.
For we had to be once witless or imprudent
To gain the wisdom that still awaits in
The threshold. I crossed the door unaware,
In a wave that came - to vanish again.

About this poem:
Ok this poem was an outcome of a silly event that just taught me a lesson ;) There is some reference to Greek/Roman mythology in many of my poems and so it appears to happen with this one but Girls of Paradise in second stanza are simply closest friends that you can always count on :)

A fire called desire

Ever present..
Ever the day dream of
an insatiable craving
The heart weary and
wrenched from the
pain of want
The mind consumed with
impossible fantasys
The torments of a thousand
sleepless nights
Trying to take heaven
by storm
Suffering hell within
and without
Groveling in the dirt
like starving zombies
Mindless wanderers in
the earth
Cursed children grasping
for the wind
Drifting forever in a fire
called..Desire

Dreams for sale. . . .

Selling a dream is easy,
Like building castle in the air,
A deal is the devil's game,
It never change just the name.

A film star must get naked,
Or the world will forget you existed,
Lawyers sell metaphorical misnomers,
To reach higher goals in life,
Doctors the biggest drug sellers,
Many have fallen into their traps.

I'll be hanged for exposing their lies ,
The system is in fact a pyramidical trap!
The all seeing eye is a spy,
Into your homes,schools and work,

Its easy to blame it on the money,
It can't stand up for itself,
And you surely can't stop using it,
Your dirty little secret is safe,
Just don't stir the hornets nest.

Nature Knows Not

Oh, nature!
Who hath seen thee
but admiring eyes
Why doth thou not
speak of thy own
beauty?
Hath thou no voice?
The tiger knows not
of her beautiful
stripes
Nor can the horse
contemplate the
grace of his
stride
And no autumn was
ever heard boasting
of her splendid
colors
Surely the earth
in her mysterious
path through the
heavens will regale
us with shameless
self praise
Or perhaps the rainbow
will whisper in our
ears the secrets of
her prismatic colors
Yet creation is given
no tongue with which
to speak and lives
as a blind man who
cannot behold his
reflection in a
glass
But weep not my
beloved sun, moon,
and stars..
For I have eyes to
see, ears to hear,
and a mouth with
which to speak
And I will voice
praises for you
I will listen for
what you cannot hear
And I will see myself,
in your still ponds
for I am a wandering
rebel..
and there is none
like me~

Isolation (a sonnet)

Now touching on this isolation writing
I touch it now I am the daylight fighting.

This winter's day of clouds grey overcast
To wait a week or two just to outlast.

I've found something that I could not say
Favor romance on a dismal day.

Something in my heart becomes uncertain
I wish that I could be a better person.

I think of my soul and its incarnations
I think of drugs debasing kids and nations.

I think about my lost Arcadian dream -
My consciousness just currents down a stream.

I wish that I could find my better half
In this waiting game that is my life.
