our moments

flipping through the pages of times
filled in between our books
those unfaded moments
haunting me deep down

it is not by accident
that they break loose once in a while
breaking my heart over and over again
relentless and strong

But even then
smiles overcome my imaginings
thinking what would've been
if we held on to each other a little longer

but what is done is done
nothing can change the course
that marked our moments
cherised and tucked
here forever in my heart...

never to be forgotten.

The Stopover...........

Nestled almost hidden on a side street
Off the main drag in my adopted town
A coffee shop lay in wait for those unaware
Somehow to be found
For there is no glitz or glam attached
No bells or whistles too
Just a simple coffee shop
Where word of mouth is true
The ribs of an old building
Hold the roof up high
The counter way too simple
Exposing what to buy
Eight seats no more
I'd guess is what's inside
Then it's standing room only
Almost thigh to thigh
The locals are stamped on tabs
All across the wall
An easy reference point
For the owners to recall
The people are amazing
Always welcoming and nice
Their coffee is insane
Their Jewel to entice
Their customers come and go
As soon as the door's ajar
All people from all walks of life
From near and afar
Joggers , cyclists , walkers
Drifters and travellers too
Even the odd surfer
When their is no surf to do
Outside you can sit
And share the morning sun
A little patio area
Where breakfast can be fun
They have an avocado smash
Which is simply Devine
An awesome start to the day
It has an individual design
But it's the people and the service
That brings you back for more
The " Woodmans Axe " coffee shop
And it's incr..edible revolving door ......

From Glory to Glory

Man seeks a world that
will glorify himself

To seek the praise of
another is alien to
his nature

A religion that will
enthrone us

A personal wisdom,
beauty, and strength
is his entitlement

A politic, a country,
is his natural right

And, alas! He's blinded
by his own glorified
light~

UNIVERSAL FRIENDS

With a promise, comes a new day
Bursting with life, its new rays
Break through the sky, so bright
Wakes us gently, from dark to light

Seasons define, the speedy process
Winter, spring, summer autumn...guess
Depends on the sun, as it rises to shine
Settles in the sky, sending its sign

Lighting the heavens, day and night
Flooding with brightness, stirring sight
Coastal or rural, each scene depends
On changing cycles, universal friends.

What I See.......

Selfless to the core .........................are more reasons to adore
You organise a day .........................that should be yours to play
A Mother's Day event ...........................for some with less intent
And celebrate the day .......................................in a special Way
You stay up late at night .............wrapping presents in your sight
And arrange the flowers so ...................that they are ready to go
And when the time is near ......................you bundle all your fear
Head on down to where ...................you want to show your care
A coffee Shop in mind ...................with gourmet chocolate behind
To warm the heart of mothers ...........normally a concern for others
But through abuse and neglect............have never had the respect
So you see the need ..............................to eliminate the bad seed
By showing them some love .................blessed by the one above
And in your finest hour ............show them your Mothers Day flowers......

(THE) SNOWBALL DERBY

My first Snowball at historic Five Flags Speedway was Two Thousand Nine
I couldn't miss seeing Kyle Busch vie for short tracks most coveted finish line
After witnessing ROWDY win Pensacola's prestigious Derby I became hooked
until no longer able my seat at Americas' most famous half mile is booked

I never thought the drama of 09's Derby could be toppled but I was wrong
pitting with 11 to go cemented 2010's come from behind win for Johanna Long
A Snowball Derby victory has been known to catapult the driver to Nascar fame
why this most worthy of races isn't aired on ESPN is indubitably a shame

The best drivers from near and far flock to Pensacola for their Snowball chance
sadly... each year more than half who attempt fail to qualify for the BIG dance
Nascar greats Wallace, Allison, Waltrip, and others have circled the half mile
sons of greats like John Hunter, Chase, and Steven have won here in style

It's popularity has gotten bigger and bigger every year since my first one
race fans know this tough to tame oval is iconic and second to none
I feel the Derby has significance equal to Nascars Xfinity and Truck races
more seats should mean larger purses which could attract more famous faces

Traveling thousands of miles speaks volumes about the place they're going
what's missed at the Snowball each year is the lack of Nascar drivers showing
When it comes to can't miss races...the Snowball Derby live you've gotta see
many already know... and I'd surmise after your experience you too will agree

MUSIC 'A TRUE SAVIOR'

I know of 'A True Savior that can actually be confirmed as real
learn of Euphoria nothing else comes close to making you feel
After lending an Ear you will become a true believer forever
you can count on it being there for you always and whenever

What I'm eluding to is as significant as anything on this Earth
indubitably a miracle with a price tag of immeasurable worth
I define it 'amazing' for it's unique ability to mend a human heart
the hopeless can become rejuvenated by it's inspiring push start

This wonderment has capacity to surface every emotion we own
this particular phenomenon may even stir up a feeling not known
My inexplicable love and appreciation of it surpassed paramount
the times it induced crying or utter elation I can't begin to count

Everyone has the capacity to listen but sadly far less actually hear
until one does it's true Magic can't possibly be heard crystal clear
What I speak of makes you uncontrollably Jump, Dance, and Shout
someday most will experience exactly what it is I'm talking about

Without question the Power I preach about is guilty of healing
relishing arguably life's most relevant gift never requires kneeling
It's influentially touched each ever born and I don't mean maybe
all the above is saluting A True Savior... aka 'MUSIC' baby

From the book: In the Name of the Rose / Umberto Eco

Red rose growing in the meadow,
you vaunt yourself bravely
bathed in crimson and carmine:
a rich and fragrant show.
But no: Being fair,
You will be unhappy soon

A forgotten Girl

On spectrum palate
curving colours

it was night of calm

sensing smells of farm
speakers mourned

barking intrusion
such comfort

road to be
no more
bridges

stolen
felt

no more
of what was

I must drive on

Why we wander in network?.

Embedded image from another site

Why we wander in network?...
Perhaps we hide the loneliness....
Perhaps we dream to find happiness...
Ah, as everyone it wants...
Perhaps just from grief we run?...
From melancholy that has seized teeth...
We wander, and just we are silent...
Sometimes, we speak verses...
How to answer, I don't know...
Have tightened golden networks...
Only there I have FRIENDS...
The most valuable present on light
