DREAM WISH LIST

Americas' West is inundated with landscape I've long wanted to see
I would definitely like to visit but making it home could never be
Viewing The Northern Lights in Alaska is another vacation dream
witnessing the phenomenon is most likely to induce a joyous scream

Watching animals in their natural habitat of The Serengeti defines intense
being surrounded by killer predators pushes adrenaline rush to immense
I'd become overwhelmed during my soaking in of Ancient Roman Land
totally paralyzed by awe as I absorb the magnificent history firsthand

Those resplendent Islands of Hawaii are indubitably a desirable place
on that paradise in the Pacific I badly want my own personal space
Two other must see destinations are Australia and The Paris France
Switzerland, South Africa and Ireland too if ever I had the chance

A venture to Costa Rica and Venice are among my Dream Wish List
If I had ONE wish I'd choose going where that alleged heaven exist
To be perfectly honest most aren't even feasible considering I hate to fly
my Philosophy is 'no airplanes negates crashing down being how you die'

Simply Devine..............

It's that time of year again to appreciate the nights
Where love and thought encourages the lights
Some of the houses are dressed oh so fine
Other creations have a simple line
There's reindeer and sleds upon rooftops
Giant presents and candy cane lots
Stars mounted as high as can be
Sparkling bright for all to see
Thirty foot santa's blown up tall
Dancing in the breeze as I recall
Light here lights there
Colourful lights everywhere
But the one that stood out to me the most
Was the simple one from the honest host
Alone it sat in the window frame
A Christmas tree with no name
Dressed with just lights of blue
A six foot tree with a beautiful hue
Capturing all that it needed to
An aura of serenity through and through........

To Poet

Oh Poet! Cherish not too much the people’s love.
That fleeting noise of rapturous shouts won’t last;
Fool’s judgment will you hear, throng will laugh,
Stay firm instead and cool, in gloom entranced.

You’re king: you live alone. On road of lore
Walk following your free, unbridled mind,
Perfecting fruits of your beloved thoughts,
Not asking for reward for noble deeds of yours.

Reward - it dwells in you. Yourself – a court supreme,
Can judge your work by strict appraisal of your will,
Are you, severe judge, contented with its worth?

Contented if you are let crowd scold and whip
And spit on altar where your flame is lit,
And shake in childish playfulness your tripod!

About this poem:
A translation of Alexander Pushkin’s “To Poet”. I can’t agree more with the poet: we are the first judges of our own poems, cause we know better what they are about, so don’t wrack your nerves because of others’ critique, which may be biased in most cases, but if critique is constructive better give it a thought.

Brown eyed Woman

I stand on a cold snowy night
nothing but a full moon and bright stars in my sight
would like to send a message
but the air is taking my life with thought's we've never
met so how can this be right with only an image of
your face standing in the light should i reach through
the moon or wish upon that one star tonight cause
without that special someone in your life!

It's just another cold night.

OCEANS MUSIC...edit

Gentle or rough, music you hear
Waves lift-filter, life's water clear
Sparkle in sunlight, accept rain
Man tries to control, never tame

Shoreline rugged, peaceful sand
A tidal ocean, reaches the land
Form many pictures, through time
Mirrored sea to sky, division by line

Tide as nature, never can tether
Four seasons, change of weather
Remind us, life at times a struggle
Human experience, learn to juggle

Keep true focus, what lies ahead
Positive outlook, not one to dread
As ever morning, starts a new day
Maybe encounter, as hope finds a way...

Moving On

It is time to move on now.
Onwards and upwards, one step at a time
Ready willing and able to leave the past behind
in the past
Drawing a clear line in the sand

Forward focussed, and happy
Never again shall I ever become trapped
For, now, and at last, I am once again feeling
open minded, with open arms,a open heart
Able to trust destiny’s hand

No longer enslaved, crippled by fear.
No need to look back over my shoulder, unless
to assess just how far I have come, how well I’ve done
With the great support from true friends and family
Who knew how much I persevered, endured,
pushed through, had to overcome and
encouragingly cheered me on !

Stitches of hope.........

Nine years old
With a burden to big to bare
A major operation
Four doctors would have to share
Seven hours of hope
Stitched in with care
A young girls dilemma
Unsure of the aware

A touch and go situation
Delicate and fine
Rearranging the the vertebrae
So they would align
No mistakes allowed
Or they would resign
To the young one's fate
And a crippled spine

The prognosis looks good
The tests have been done
Only room for improvement
For this tender young one
There's good feelings here
There's good feelings there
Highlighting the amazing skills
Of the people who care.......

I was tired to be strong

Embedded image from another site

I was tired to be strong, was tired to be wise
I was tired to save, win, survive …
There is a wish for eyes kind, hands there is a wish for darlings
And lips that could whisper about love …
In embraces to take cover, fall asleep, be dissolved …
The big shoulder will become a pillow let,
To have a good long talk as though to get drunk …
That all this was more and more

White tin sky

..it was the vision that beset him
of pure turquoise and sand
the scent of wildflowers along the bay
O! but what wretched destiny had bound him
to these rocks and crevices
to abide with the carrion and larch along the timberline

Yet the vision held
held in the crucible of his existence
And he prayed for merciful deliverance
deliverance under the white tin sky..

Heart of Gold

Hail to you, Sir Cafe, most gallant knight
Defending the castle Poetry Corner
Protecting all the maidens day and night
While all the other knights you inspire

With your poems you wove a magic spell
Oftentimes taking us on a journey
Captivating with wondrous tales you tell
Fascinating us with their imagery

Your replies to comments on your poetry
Were always warm, cheerful and refreshing
They showed your pleasant personality
For all of us they were most endearing

We thank you noble knight with heart of gold
And may heaven bless your beautiful soul
