Winter's Knocking

Winter‘s Knocking!

Tis a fact, winter's knocking on our door!

Soon all the rustic golden fallen leaves
will be replaced by the white crispy
sparkling fairy crystals that winter's
scenes are painted with!

Dancing, swirling flakes, the nymphs of the Ice Queen
entourage will soon appear.

Silvery feathers artistically floating in the air,
dusting particles of their un-tread whiteness
of virgin fluffy snow upon the ground.

Awaiting nature's bird & animal kingdom’s footprints to paint
their presence in "Winter's Fantasy Garden".

Oh! How I wish I could once again tramp it's snow drifts
and tread upon it's beauty!

Oh! To walk among it's wondrous icy kingdom again,
but alas creeping age has introduced me to
the handi-cap cane & walker!

Now I gaze upon it's beauty thru the picture window
of life gone bye!

Birthday Wish

If I could find a way to poof you all here
It would be for the party of the year
See it is the day of my very own birth
On the 25th November some thirty odd years before
That's when I came to this earth
Sometimes I wished I was a mermaid
Sometimes even a bird
At times I wished to be a fairy
But still, I'm happy to be me.
There are things I've seen
And things I'd done
Places I wish I'd never been
But even so
One thing I know
I am still a queen
Might have tilted my crown
Walked on my hands
And
Stood upside down
Laughed at the world
And cried too
When for no reason I feel blue.
But this year has sure been a test
Yet I know I am still on a quest
To make my mark and carve my niche
On society
Is my only wish.

Emotions

The world seems so full, when we're happy
Full of life and abundance of good things!
We see rainbows that never were, visible...
We see the sea so bright and blue kissing the shores
We see the birds and hear them singing throughout!
We see life waiting just to be lived till we're old and grey!

We see all the world in darkness, when we're sad
So blurry and not showing signs of ever clearing!
Bleakness dwells within four walls and outside too...
Remorse follows us throughout the day
Drawing us into recklessness and withdrawing
Emotions that cannot be mended for ever till we lie silent!

My very first woman in life

My very first woman in life –
I didn’t view her all at once,
I didn't see how petite she was
Until I got somewhat grown up.
She used to take me to museums,
To listen to Colonne orchestra,
Where little fellow man of hers
Pretended he was having fun.

Oh she sang, my mother,
Often sang the songs,
Songs of yesterday,
Sang the songs of past.

My very first woman in life -
One day she took me to the school.
A shiny schoolbag in my grasp,
I had a scarf wrapped all around.
Have met some good and nasty men,
Learned to dot i’s, been bruised in face.
He was sometimes a lonely one -
The second man of the mama.

Oh she sang, my mother,
Often sang the songs,
Songs of yesterday,
Sang the songs of past.

My very first woman in life -
I left her once to be a man.
It’s always morning in the fall -
A time when children leave their nest.
It’s always in a rainy morning,
It’s often for another woman …

Oh she sang, my mother,
Often sang the songs,
Songs of yesterday,
Sang the songs of past.

Wenn ich mich erinnere könnte (If I could recall)

Childhood takes me down ancient ways
in front of me appear the dunes
behind the heath falls far to the horizon
what I forgot was the village name
it was so quaint
people can sing of the sea or Hawaii
for me the past
is like a wonderful dream out of my grasp
I will never see those headlands again
if I could recall
the sight of Schaprode and Hiddensee
before my eyes my childhood dream
would become real
and my happiness would know no bounds.

About this poem:
I wrote this about my early childhood in Germany.

We all have memories like this and for me, they remain like a dream akin to German singers description of sailors fated to never reach land and Hawaii are more fantasy than a realized expectation.

Ice Crystal Droplets

Ice Crystal Droplets

Picturesque falling flakes of snow
Covering the world with their coating of whiteness

Icy etchings upon window panes of artistic splendor

Vibrant drifts of wonder cascading everywhere

Animated scenes of sculptured snowmen
Created by youths with resourceful imaginations

Sculptured rolled up balls of snow
decorated with youthful improvisation

Faces with buttons for eyes or sun glassed to protect their snowman from the sun's rays so he wouldn‘t melt so quickly

Sticks for arms & mouth, carrots for noses

An old knit hat to wear with a wrap around muffler scarf for his neck & of course don’t forget a broom in his mitten hand

Christmas Carolers could be heard singing in the icy cool air that Santa Claus would soon be there!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells … Dashing through the snow
"Ava Maria” - “O Tannenbaum”
"It Came Upon A Midnight Clear"

Santa is tuning up his sleigh at the North Pole
Polishing up it’s runners and feeding & grooming the reindeer before their Christmas adventurous trip around the world

Isn’t it marvelous what the thought of a little snowflake can do!

Tis Santa’s helper wishing to everyone on Connecting Singles

A Very Merry Christmas!

Where to go ..

Where to go ..

Every day .. and your face becomes closer ..
Every day, it becomes your face
Part of my life ..
Becomes the most fertile age
And become the most beautiful shapes, form
And things become sweeter and best ..
Has been leaked in the pores of my body ..
As a drop of dew seeping .. ..
Unusually difficult away ..
The unusual for coming harder ..
How much am I .. how much I love you .. so ..
That myself of the same .. wonder ..
Dwell hair, in the gardens of your eyes ..
Without eyes .. no hair writes

The Other Me

Embedded image from another site

She is naughty,
She is nice,
She is a mix of rum
With a dash of spice...
Intoxicating and heady,
She could also be quite crazy,
Daring and adventurous,
She is no cowering mouse...
Zipping over trees,
Surfing on open seas,
Cruising on a motorcycle,
Should see her operate a kayak and
paddle...
Teasing and laughing
Always bubbling
Better than a vintage
Champagne...
Sarcastic sometimes,
Cruel never,
Loyal but fierce
Heart full of kindness...
Generous and sensitive,
Crying for puppies, kittens and
Movies,
Could scarce say no to a sad story...
This is the other me
The me that is hidden carefully....
The me I wish you'd see.

Alone

Flickering light
Sent of essence
Fill s the darkend room
The lights dance

Candles flicker ,lights the darkend room
The table set
Meal for two
I sit in silence
As I think of you

All alone
Sadness keeps my company
As I remember the time of good
All I do is dream of you
