Split like smoke

split like smoke
and orange peel
confessions to Mary
river delta woman
chained x chained
celluloid reels
blue field lines
victory under flag

Bonfire

A bush burning in the summer heat
A mind replenishes and repeats
How splendid those colors struck
Against the steel blue sky
And here I am leaning against time
Trying to support myself again
Standing up straight for the world
Let us all observe and welcome peace
Truly love today and our future will
Be kind and furnish much warmth
To make it part of our everyday
Seek not less than we're worth
Standing together close today
No love should exist so unbridled
To be free and wild with the wind
To float amongst the clouds so white
Fuels our energy with such delight
Rising and falling with the darkness
A burning bush lighting up the night
We laugh and marvel with all our might
And drink and be merry to great delight
Weaving and wobbling our way home

A Place

If I could only see
Far beyond the sunrise
And look for that place
Where there are no horizons
Dawn never arrives
And a misty sunset
Was a dream
Long forgotten in the past
As if life
Was a vacuum
Staring blindly back
And yet
There is nothing to see

Hope, was a nonsense word
Love, was solely meant
For the imaginative
I sought for beauty
Not within you
Only within myself

If I could only see
If I could only see

Rain

I sank my face
in heavy rain
seeking relief.
I thought it would be easier
when will wash away my desires
I wanted to wash my longing
remove all defeats
forget the past
quench my sorrows.
I washed my hair with streams
to be a more greener
and dried them with the wind
blowing from the sea.
I took rain drops
in the vessel of my hands
and I watered my lips
let water protect them.
And for a moment I forgot
about all my life
listening to rain drops
washing my body secretly.

A walk after the rain

After rain
birds - suicides
flow straight
under the wheels of cars
After rain
green trees
are
greener
and the smell of grass
breaks in
in the nostrils.
After rain
comes first
silence
after a while
sing
various sonatas.
After rain
I'm walking in the ocean
greenery
stroking feet
the remains of drops.

Those who prepared for all the emergencies of life beforehand may equip themselves at the expense of joy.

Go Bears!

I saw them play in the Super Bowl 35 years ago in 1986
They even had a song "The Superbowl Shuffle"
The Bears were a lot of fun that year
The Fridge
Jim McMahon
Walter Payton
And their head coach Mike Ditka
The only team they lost to in 1985 was the Dolphins
So they play against the New Orleans Saints at 3:40 PM on Sunday
If I get lucky, they will eventually play the Green Bay Packers
Like they did in 2011
And the Packers will win
But if the Bears win
I'll root for them in Super Bowl LV (55)

About this poem:
I watched the game last week and it didn't matter at all who won that game. The Bears still made the playoffs and the Packers still have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Vacation Day

I get three weeks of vacation every year
I can roll over up to three more weeks if I want to
I have thus far only rolled over two days
Because I need a break from the sea of inhumanity
So yesterday I took a day away from the madness
I went to Dubuque, Iowa and went to the Kennedy Mall
I bought a Christmas Vacation ornament with Clark Griswold
He is holding a chainsaw
When you press the button it says a quote from the movie
"Hey Griswold, where do you think you're gonna put a tree that big?"
Bend over and I'll show you
I have two other from National Lampoon's Vacation
One with the family singing the Marty Moose song
And one with Marty Moose telling the Griswolds that they're closed for repairs
I also bought some Rap Snacks at Spencers Gifts
And a DVD from Best Buy
Now I have good snacks, good movies that don't freeze up and an ornament
I hope your day was as good or better!

It's fun to take some of that moola and do something fun with it. Tonight I'm going to a Chinese buffet with a friend.

Dressed in White..

Silently fall soft snowy bride,
Beneath cold waning moon,
Adorn our naked countryside,
Like white confetti strewn.

Tonight to meet her beau Jack Frost,
She'll wear his sparkling gems,
Lace glinting dress and veil embossed,
With diamond studded hems.

So many joys can Winter bring,
In frozen mystery,
To celebrate our new born King,
Bright star of history.

Young children dance 'neath snow clad roofs,
They sence how Santa's near,
While soon to trace fresh track of hooves,
From his red-nosed reindeer.

I long to see white postcard sights,
Amid sub-zero wind,
Then under lonely Christmas lights,
Pray for lost souls that sinned.
