A part of me

Nervously,I sat on the beach
This is the first time we would meet
The little girl ran to the water
She looked like just like my daughter
Her eyes sparkled
Her lips formed a pout
Leaving me no doubt
It was she I’ve waited to meet
My heart skipped a beat
She quickly came running to me
She gave me a hug
My heart she tugged
She was like a little dove
She was the girl I had always loved
She held my hand
Our feet in the sand

COOKIED

A hacker has come to cohabit my flat
controlling whatever I do
Regrettably too and on top of all that
wherever I go it comes too

Since it arrived and infected my thinking
my life has been truly debased
to where I’ve practically doubled my drinking
and know that to fight is a waste

My cutlery crockery bric-a-brac tools
are constantly in disarray
I seem to be one of the world’s greatest fools
for my gear-shift shifts the wrong way

When I shop and pick out the item my shock
which can only confound belief
is to find once again that they’re out of stock
Does The Hacker want to play Thief?

Why are these creatures so brutally greedy
to seek out their pitiful prey?
Or is it the drowning cry of the needy
and hopelessness losing its way?

Once A Week

I can't travel to a far away land
But I can do online shopping once a week
I'll never get a chance to sing with a country band
Nashville will never call me to come and live on easy street

I can't go out on a date with a rich woman if you know what I mean
So I stay home instead
They say you're never to old to dream
But I dream alone in my bed

Early morning bring the sunlight through my window on my favorite spot
I'll be in my chair waiting to take a drink of coffee for it will still be too hot
And then the only thing I will think of that would be kind of neat
I can do online shopping once a week

Had You Told Me Yesterday

Had you told me yesterday
I would not be waiting on tomorrows tears
The silence of your precious heart
Is still ringing in my ears

Such a distant goodbye
As you drove down the road
The smoke from your old car
Has left a giant scar as it strangled my soul

Now a man of solid blue
Is what I'll always be
Had you told me yesterday
Now I'll always remember that's when you turned twenty three

Tractor broke down in the garden
Clothesline on the ground after a strong wind
Had you told me yesterday
I would never see you again

The Girl with sad brown eyes

Perhaps you saw me walking on the street with my head hanging down and you wondered why..perhaps you saw ne at my desk at work with my head hanging down and you wondered why..maybe you thought to yourself why such a beautiful lady is always looking down. If you only knew ...the beating last night was because I burnt his dinner...This morning it was because I forgot to iron his shirt. So next time you see me with my head hanging down..don't wonder . Speak to me words of encouargement and life..

Neither

She said no.
The whys do not matter.
Neither do I.
We are not together.
Neither Shakespeare
nor Schroedinger's Cat
can change her mind.
Neither can I.
She is beautiful.
I am alone.

Words Hurt

Better to be slapped with dirt
Memory stained
heart broken
piece of soul taken away
want to forgive
To much pain
Beat me down
spit in my face
Verbally abuse
Up for the game
For the love of my beautiful blessing

Suicidal Games

One day I grew up,
By my let downs and pain,
How I made it this far?,
I really can't say,-
Married with children,
But, still so alone,
Giving them a place to live,
I'm so far from my home,-

Are there people like me?
Life's not the same,
Daydreaming of a possible past,
Suicidal games,-

Prisoner of thoughts,
Everyone is gone,
Places to go to,
A life of their own,-
Talking to yourself,
This time something answers you back!,
And this time you know,
You've gone off the tracks!,

Are there people like me?,
And what do they play?,
Pour souls like them,
Standing in the rain,-

Suicidal games,----

About this poem:
I wrote this 4-20-2011. This was written within the same time frame of when I wrote What I've Done and Rock n Roll Star, within hours I mean. This is one I played around with "shock rock" but it seemed more laid back and mellow; for it sounded better!

Why?

Differing opinions, I'm right, you are wrong, same old story,
same old song,
You WHERE here, now you are gone, that didn't take too long,

You started the conflict, you started the fight, hope you have seen
the LIGHT,

And on it goes, day after day, always someone forcing their say,

Always somewhere someone has to pay, always the innocent
come what may!

A Town Of Somewhere

Nothing for me to see
Nothing for me to do
That place had a name
And now I'm forgetting it too

Friends have all disappeared
Into thin air
If only I could exist
In a town of somewhere

Wake up early mornings go walking in the dark
Lights turning on in peoples houses
And daybreak will find me
With a longing heart

For a new beginning
A life that is fair
Guess I'll keep on drifting
Till I find a town of somewhere
