Stuck in the hallway, shouting at ghosts.

About this poem:
Please add a line. Let it take the poem forwards. Allow it to be as open as possible for the next line that follows. You can add more than one line, but no consecutive additions.
Let's see where it leads.
Let's try for about 2/3 weeks worth.
I'll compile and publish it on here at the end of that time.

My soul is eagerly awaiting to take its flight
To the land beyond the sunset
Where my loved ones await my arrival
At the pearly gate
With outstretched arms,
There will be no more pain
Nor heartache or tears
Sleepless nights will be
Perpetual rest.
- Your personal message will appear here -

you hung up the phone
tears streamed down your face
You relayed the news
I already knew
The cancer had spread
Not much to be said
The cold rain
It falls like tears down on my heart
In private I cry until the tears run dry
My big brother-you will always be
You ask who will be there for you
I will
Who will hold your hand
I will
Who will help you
I will
Nothing will ever change the love I have for you
I stand with you
I stand by you
I stand beside you
I feel your pain
as if it were my own

I've no more time to bend my mind
The illusion of love must fade away
While I can still think I've got to say
As I stop being a fool
I wave my hand in the sign of adieu
Now let the sun come shinning through
As I open up the blind
Rays of sunlight breathe upon the floor
I've no more time to bend my mind
And no longer minutes to ignore
Missed chances and been here before
And minutes become few to find
Searching words with escape to an open door
On a journey and I've no more time to bend my mind

Sadness...overcomes me like a blanket;
Not warm and fuzzy, but cold and dark.
When I think of the evils that grip the land
And cause Sin, and Disease, and Pain, and Death,
I feel hopelessly sad.
I try to fight the sadness with thoughts of good things,
But still...the sadness haunts me.
I try to examine the sadness, reasoning it out
To decipher why it wearies my soul,
But I could find not satisfactory answers.
I try to sing away the sadness with songs of joy and
Praise to my God, and for a while, IT goes away.
But then....
Sadness...creeps over me like a shadow,
All dark and gloomy, silent and heavy,
And I wonder "When will it all end?"
When will my God say "It is time",
And return to end the sadness that I feel?

There's a girl on the poster board
you can spot her from the bus
a small alluring interval
on a mediocre ride
each day she fades more
to blue and grey
pigments washing out
edges torn
and in time
she'll be replaced
by an advertisement
for doughnuts
and all the men
will silently sigh
for there's one less peg
holding up the day

Now that I'm older
I have the script I know the lines
But the movie has been over
For such a long long time
For years you have walked beside another guy
And I have never entered your mind
That's what I get for being shy
Yes the movie has been over a long time
But now I would know my mark
I would know every cue
But I was rehearsing in the dark
All the time I was missing you
Softly the music plays and the credits roll away
My name is nowhere on the screen for anyone to find
And I have only one line left to say
The movie has been over a long time

When I talked to the young, they had no reply, except to say,
We are young, it's you that will die,
I tried to explain life does not work that way, its all fun and games,
until the day, the day that you pay,
And no one does know, from day to day, where life will lead us,
or when we will go,
Youthful thoughtlessness, can never be wrong, it's the same hymn sheet
that was our song,
We knew better, we knew it all, now, most of my friends are long gone!

Golden threads of memory of you
Keep running through my mind,
Thinking of the times we shared
Keeps you still alive within my heart
Everyday I miss your smile
Though I see it in a frame
But no one ever can replace
The sweetness and comfort it brought;
My heart still bleeds in silence
Silent tears still flow
What it was to lose you my baby
Only I ever know.
Losing you was unbearable
And still it is the same,
I keeping searching for answers
That no one but God can explain;
Your Memory is a beacon
That guides me through this lonely life
It is a precious keepsake
Embedded in my heart.
Death is a mystery,it tears loved ones apart,
But one thing I know for sure
God has you in his arms,
I have you in my heart.
I know we'll meet again someday,somewhere
Beyond the blue,
Till then I'll find the strength
To live through each lonely day.

Lying awake at midnight
meandering down paths unknown
Looking for a place for my weary soul;
When head is bowed low
and limbs are weary
We look for home beyond the sunset.
Is this how life's journey ends
for some who tirelessly toiled,
Just asking for a brief respite.
Alas! it is their lot in life
to take one step at a time
Walking the lonely path.
