Pop, it's that time of year
when Christmas is nearby
the earth has made
its trip again
around the velvet sky
we fought like tigers
all the time
we both could not back down
and once I grew
beyond your frame
I stood and beat you down
but I'd trade pride
and everything
to have you here.. you see
when you went too early
to your rest
you took a part of me
It took me 40 years to learn
that you were flawed
and great
you loved this time
you loved us all
but you were hard by fate
so as the snow
taps morse to me
about how I miss my dad
I think about
his face up there
and the qualities he had
you laughed and worked
upon the earth
you defended cub and den
you did your best
with the cards you got
and you raised a few good men
forgive me dad.. I'm headstrong
I should have never raised my hands
but I guess I'm just my father's son
your footsteps are my strand

What did that dark whisper say
I sense something very strange
Those gathering clouds so gray
Bringing a strong storm arrange
I fell helpless torn from freedom
Ripped like the shirt off my back
Struck down like tunes Te Deum
Adrift in this raging Sea of Black
What hope wait fresh and found
Release me and free me of pain
Lift my spirit up from the ground
In my flight to freedom will I gain
Today we hunker down and fight
Not lose our way from all reason
For truth we must reach for light
And let peace become in season

I love the internet
Have been coming here to get what I wanted to get
Halloween and Christmas fortune cookies, Rap snacks, Herr's Deep Dish Curls
45 records I could give a whirl
Sharing my writings on here
But some troll made it clear
Even here you are not as safe as it seems
We'll do stuff to you that will make you want to scream
So I was forced to change my password and then forgot
Should have written it down, and now I'm hot
I'm mcradloff who has to use daradloff instead
But at least the new password is still in my head!

Where smoke is found
There is always fire
Undoubtably or not
Trouble always finds you
When you least expect it
Prowling on the catwalks
Eyes peering into shadows
Ears touching the walls
Watching and listening
For signs of witchcraft
Real or imaginary
No one is ever alone or
Really that innocent
Because the cameras lens
Is always searching
Whenever you get away
Wherever you need to go
To the mountains or forest
You’re only as safe
As you feel inside

About this poem:
Poem about accusations and superstitions and leaving ancient worries behind. Seeking solitude in nature always refreshes my inner sense of peace and tranquility. Much of modern society is conducted under the auspices of surveillance and security. Thanks to all the great poets, past and present, that have made CS a haven for many to explore and share a common love for poetry and free expression of thoughts that generate so much passion and feeling.
Thanks to all my fellow poets for helping me to reach my '600' poem milestone. I started writing poetry on this site ten years ago after a particularly painful breakup and I have never looked back.

online today!
As I listen to the rain drops,,falling on my roof, lost in contemplation, not being aloof, just thinking about existance, how they reflect it all,, they are here, they fall, they cease to exist,,, just like us all,, a moment in time, its all that we are, dont look to the future, dont look too far, we're a whisper in time, we can cease to be, suddenly, ,,,,,,,, its all made up, by you and me.

he grew up tall
in this small land
and worked the beaches
field and strand
until reward won mind
and hand
and left his youth
for golden band
so two were paired
to understand
that marraige took
its own demand
"what then?"
cried Yeats's Ghost..
What then?"
his bandaged hands
found fame and wage
as status grew
about his rage
and wilder hearts
could never assuage
the fight inside
that always stayed
when life was hard
and fears did age
his story writ
upon a page
of blood red ink
and subtle beige
"What then?"
cried Yeats's Ghost?..
"What then?"
the band of gold
he wore as ring
did lose its glow
refused to sing
and wore away
the very thing
that made his world
a bell and ring
and each new love
brought everything
except the glow
of anything..
that's her
" What then?"
cried Yeats's Ghost..
"What then?"

I search for happy
But find only sad
And wonder sometimes why I feel so bad
I try to get dry
But feel only rain
So I am soggy and salty all day
I try to be healthy
But I'm sickly with pain
It hurts me to be so physically drained
Looking for truth and find only lies
This leaves me cold and empty inside
Clarity eludes me and leads me to madness
These feelings I feel of hopeless sadness
There's a small light in the darkness that's here
But I am afraid to go near
A victim of fear...

Short days
Darkness surrounds
One sits alone hearing the echos the load noises the cars going bye from the world outside
One sits and dwells you are alone no one cares
No one knocks - are you ok
No rings your door to see if your ok
No one no one no one
Your once best friends your
Family
You once had a life
Now you sit and weep
No one cares your alone
You sit in the dark you hide
No one cares your alone

I feel that stream bubbling inside
You have really have no clue
How much I am trying to hide
What I am going through
When cosmic forces collide
When my blood turns to blue
The long silent scream I cried
The wind born flowers strew
Over barren winter fields died
Did life ever so happy knew
Was joy only mine to hide
Or just fear to draw and slew
Like a sword into my side
So much worry to cut through

there are many issues in the world today, but mike forgot them all and shells out millions for his campaign so hey, mike you"ve got to grow some more. put your billions in things that will make you taller.your taller than napolean. you have to be a moron to believe this man. how can he get it done when he can"t even get it up!! the animals told me that they:ll never back someone who gives so much money to run a losing campaign. the vote is in. you can be president of the turkey farms,at least you"ll be president of something. i"m a democrat only because i loved john f kennedy. his own country killed him.
