Seeking

Embedded image from another site

Darkness dwells
In sleeping souls
Dead to love
No kindness
Barren and bound
Wings like vultures
Swooping to feast
Upon the dying
Remains of days
Voids of darkness
Hidden lies of hate
Pretenses of show
Flights in coldness
Blackness devouring
Night’s captured prey
Crushed asunder
Buried in deep earth
Candled in shadows
Danced upon the wall
Prisons of fertile minds
Descend into caverns
Of coldness and despair
Looking for naked truths
Repentant yet lost
Stillness creeping
Dig deeper
Seek diligently
Find it deep
Within your heart
Awaken to spirit
Be the light

The Traveller

Backwards and forwards through time he travels
Each day much like the other
He continues to seek but does not discover
This burden is so hard to bear

Now and then he passes another
Also on a quest like his
Eyes haunted and face so haggard
Desperation etched in every line

Across the centuries he's been searching
Dim is memory of what he seeks
He's sure to know when he stumbles across it
Until then he will carry on

Fear the Night!

Fear the Night!

In The darkness of the night

The howling wolves did roar

A witch was seen in Moon lit beams

On a broomstick she did soar

From mother earth to way up high

It was the night of nights of Gremlins

Filled with all sorts of scary frights

The owls did hoot and bats did fly

Watch out for things in the nightly sky

Ghosts will suddenly appear

Watch out ~ they want to scare you dear

Black cauldrons were all a ~ bubble

Witches brew stirred toil & trouble

Have a drink with me ~ my dear

Give to me your neck ~ no fear

Feel my fangs, their sharpness deep

Then other’s blood we will seek!

I will share my casket dear

Then other people will have to fear!

erupt

time flowing backwards now
more than past the halfway point
the dreams we've found just out of reach
walls of hope have long been breached
so many times so far from perfection
moments of clarity plagued by insanity
last rites of a small man
smacked down by a tall hand
raised up on mistrust
staying poised to erupt

The Succubus

The Demon Mistress of last night's horror,
Dreams away in sacred little fancies;
And sick the morning after to abhor,
Now that she has cast her necromancies.

The dark last night was one of restless sleep,
In the shadowland 'tween wake and slumber;
T'was dragged to sink in Morpheus' deep,
Arms there to forget and not remember.

She's a woman - (though I've not seen her face);
As floating gently, in seas quite fathomless,
I'm then roused a little by her unquiet grace;-
To be plunged into an ocean bottomless.

My life force and my energy desire;
Is taken by this ghastly Succubus,
She mounts me in my sleep - my rod of fire,
Thrusts upward, and into her nothingness.

She wants it all, to drain my energy;
The rhythm of her hips now grows more frantic,
I'm helpless to resist too young to die;
She stops me at my peak in taunting tantric.

I start awake now drenched in sweat and shaking;
I hear a she-cat shriek in piteous cry,
Mewling at the midnight moon and taking,
Weak souls to their dreadful destiny.

We Wear the Mask BY PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR

We wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.

Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.

We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!

November’s Rain

In the stillness of my decay
What is left of yesterday
Things that won’t fade away
The last of those sunny days
Turning slowly into grey

In the night of my loneliness
Moonlight shares a sweet caress
Once was life is emptiness
The nest in the meadow cress
Empty now and in distress

In the gloom of a dreary day
In the drench of soaking spray
Puddles my thoughts in clay
The lake that surrounds the quay
Solemn I am its tranquil bay

In the silence of the past
A question I could have asked
A memory that also passed
But one I still holdfast
One that will always last

In the stillness of my decay
What is left of yesterday
Things that won’t fade away
The last of those sunny days
Turning slowly into grey

Pearl Necklace

Slowly life leaves her
Not willingly
Fighting
For every breath

As she drops to the ground
The strand breaks
And the pearls cascade
Around her dead body

Death Dealer

Wait a minute, where did the path go,
u stepped off the trail,
for a moment now its gone.
You're lost, the woods close around you,
It'is gettn dark can it be evening already.
What was that noise that rustling sound,
that growl, its not so nice out here anymore,
perhaps u think you shouldnt have come here,
there's things in the dark,
things that wait to grab and eat you.
chorus
I've watched this world
from shadows afar,
contributed fetishes, moots
and kaerns,
despoiled justice for things i ve done,
silhouettes of zombies come.
verse
Dark glow of the new moon,
inks shadows on the street,
meandering visages slither before succumbing,
To my dark gaze, grinning happily,
Darkness blurs them now,
they walk with respect, around me how,
treading lightly fearing the rage of my howl.
repeat chorus

A Sailor's Nightmare

Raging waters crashing into our hull
Where we cross the turbulent streams
Sometimes our horror runs so deep
Roiling currents that push and pull
Waking us from our slumbering dreams
Hearing strange noises from the deep
Ever watchful eye of a blackhooded gull
Fearful our ship falling apart at the seams
Horrible creatures across the bottom creep
Eiry glows a green crumbling skull
Coming from a sunken cavern of screams
Lost in a world that will never sleep
