The Night Calling...

I embrace the night
it is late at night,
the poetry comes, it flows
like ink through my fingers...

Where does it come from?
maybe from the foggy basement
of my minds eye like the hurricane
blowing and sprouting forth as a volcano...

Could it be verbatim drenched in misery?
or an externalization of inward seeking?
Perhaps a restless soul seeking shelter
from the fury storm of emptiness...

Maybe it's the full moon
or misinterpreted star charts.
I watch Taurus collide with Orion
and wish upon a falling star...

It is way past midnight,
the ghosts they call once more,
perhaps I'll take a drive in my car
while the steering wheel turns like a clock

through my empty hands.
I go home to reach for my pen
and set the grandfather clock back
only to to write all over again...

Broken Doll

Embedded image from another site

Fragile and hollow encased in an invisible glass case,
she sits, legs crossed and hands placed perfectly on her knees, her hair falling in waves of perfect curls, even the straps of her dress ironed and without a wrinkle.

Foundation spread over her face making her skin look like porcelain, her make up almost looked like an artist had painted it on too perfectly.

And from this doll, dull lifeless eyes stared ahead, her skin was warm but her heart was like ice, it had frozen long ago when she became nothing more then a show piece of beauty to be displayed for all to see.

Then one day he pushed her just a little to much and she crashed to the floor, her body and face splintered and cracked
and she lay there feeling nothing at all.

Thats where he found her, and with tender hands and strong arms he picked up the pieces and gently began to glue the bits together, she began to take shape once more, but he did not stop at the outer shell, he breathed warmth into her and slowly the fire began to warm her and the life in her eyes shone bright, the fine cracks left behind were more beautiful because she was unique, they showed how she had healed.

About this poem:
how so many feel at times, but for someone who lives it for years it must be like a living hell, and there are people like this out there, I knew one once:-)

The happy mask

Damn this heart,
It won't stop breaking,
This hole in my chest,
It won't stop aching,
A smile on my face,
I can't stop faking,
For others sake,
My feelings forsaking,
I keep saying inside,
"Everything's fine.",
Trying so hard,
To believe my own lies...

The story

After many a sleepless night,
A man sat down at his pad to write,
The pen in his hand wrote of a man,
Who'd had more than he could stand,
A tale of woe, malady stricken,
Words to rival any written,
Leaving readers speechless
sorrow smitten,
Sadness and madness,
Damsels in distress,
People pushed past their limits,
Put to the test,
Though through the ordeal
they tried their best,
A survivor story where no-one survives,
A song of intrigue, deciet, and lies,
Of lovers who loved and lovers who lost,
Who played with lust and paid the cost,
Then somewhere in this yarn in the middle,
A heart grown hard, little by little,
Because of relationships he'd had,
Experiences both good and bad,
This fable would range from happy to sad,
From worry to glad,
A boy... to a man,
A soul laid bare for all to see,
Full of magic and mystery,
Fitting no genre or category,
It would be named the story of me,
Bottled and corked,
Thrown in the sea,
To toss and turn endlessly....

Age of the Soul!

Age of the Soul!

The eyes reveal the soul, dwelling deep within!

To show it’s true worth!

To look within my soul would show,
Wet lonely tears that constantly weep and plea!

Floods of loneliness in the crowd, how can it be?

I answer … time … it ages one’s soul!
Tears that turn the soul to dust and then …

Time warp and age creeps in!

Ticking clocks can only be …
Turned back & forth by daylight savings time!

Find life’s partner before age sets in,
for when father time cometh you will be alone!

But then again, when father time comes
we are all alone!

FORGIVE ME OR NOT

You like to be punished and I punish well
My words of warning on deaf ear fell
I am not the girl for you and will never be
Why can the world but not you see
I am what one calls a bitter medicine nothing more
Please I am begging you just walk through the door
Who you look at is not whom you seem to see at all
I will never be there to pick you up after a fall
I have no interest in your future; PLEASE
No stability, no dependability just a TEASE
Your biggest mistake is seeing me as a wife
I only want to ruin your life

A hearts prayer

You have left my soul lost in darkness,
I cannot find my way out,
I must let you go...,
Please pass away,
So that I may feel again,
Please let in the light,
So that I may see again,
Please unchain my bonds,
So that I may have freedom,
Please let me be,
So that I may love....

struggles

at least
we have the full cycle complete
where weaving through
in between
defines all the struggles
that bounded our journey
the ups and downs
the sun's heat
and the mist's damps

we knew exactly where
it separated
when summer ended
and winter began
right here within our hearts
in our spirits and in our minds
we cuddled and shared our pains
our joys and sufferings

we both flipped
the same pages of our times
unwritten in the blank sheets
of our book aching to be filled
with all our hopes
desires and ambitions
but as you gazed at the window
I just knew, our fate was sealed
when the falling rain drowned
all my relenting angers
and I was silenced
not from the wind
but by your indifference

I tried to reach you
deep down
pulled you out many a times
but once buried, and sealed
can't be saved or redeemed-
you resigned, I just sensed
the end just began

tried to beat
the living hell
out of you
just to quell the evils
and the dark spells
but none I could do
to brake that hell
you are doomed
and wanted it so
because in this world
and this life you said:
wasn't meant for you
nor will it ever be....

I walked away
because I knew,
you were a living dead
and so was I.

Stolen Childhood !

Serene she appears on outward glance,
I've seen her lost in frozen stare,
Past demons strain her countenance,
A hurt so deep...her heart not there.
That surface I probed with warm caress,
While in retreat her anger vent,
Lest I usurp forbidden distress,
No hardened sledge could ever dent.
Episodic flashbacks of lonely grief,
A young girls teardrops long since dried,
Her childhood stolen by demonic thief,
Tears lost in exile....yearning to be cried !

Just another day

Embedded image from another site

Just another day
I woke up and looked around
finding myself
in the classifieds lost and found..

You had slipped away
just in case I took a peek
thinking maybe you
were playing hide and seek...

Today is just another day
reaching highs and the low
the wind will still blow
and the water will still flow...

For another day to start
this one must end
although my heart is aching
I know somehow it will mend...

Tired of being turned around
lost and found
why do you care
you are never there...

Anyway,
today is just another day
out of mind and out of sight
don't tell me it's gonna be alright...

Anyway,
you just try and hold on
tomorrow's another day...
