AISHA

Forced into womanhood at 12
betrayed by those you trusted
abused daily mentally and physically
forced to sleep in the animal shed
Your escape was short-lived
being captured and returned
to your tormentors

In the mountains
the cruel knife passed
on your innocent face
No, Aisha
that is not cold water
in your nose
It is your blood
your nose is gone
and so are your ears

Your tormentors have gone away
and left you alone to die
But you refused to lay down
and die
With your defiant spirit
you crawled down the mountain
to those who cared
and protected you
and helped you to a new life
away from the evil unjust system
you inherited by birth

What was your crime
to be dealt such cruelty?

About this poem:
In a practice known as baad, Aisha's father promised her to a Taliban fighter when she was 12 years old as a compensation for a killing that a member of her family had committed. She was married at 14 and subjected to constant abuse. At 18, she fled the abuse and was caught by the police, jailed and returned to her family. her father returned her to her in-laws. To take revenge on her escape, her father-in-law, husband and three other family members took Aisha to the mountains, cut off her nose and ears and left her to die. She was still alive however, and managed to crawl to her grandfather's house from where her father smuggled her to an American medical facility where she was looked after for ten weeks. Subsequently, she was brought to the US where she under went further treatment.

There can be only One!

An ancient time from a distant past long forgotten,

Where a race of guardians governed the Universe,

A Rebellion shook the very fabric of law and order,

Began from heaven and followed through the modern era,

Brothers against brothers became enemies,

Immortals known as Angels and Demons,

Disobedient to the Lord's commandment,

They became the 'fallen' outcast into another world,

One third of their race turned against their Master,

And followed their fearless leader,

His name unholy in the calling,

Father of lies and Lord of flies,

The Serpent and Dragon,

The morning star and Istar,

The fallen Archangel and Devil,

The one and the only Lusifir!

shape-shifters

~to all shapeshifters:repeat after me~
we're kind we're courteous
but always so fearless
every move we make
is anything but careless
we watch we observe
without a twitch of nerve
we're not of this world
but somewhere in-between
we blend in so well
if you know what I mean
we're seen in the shadows
not quite human not quite creature
we shape all of time
we shape the future
we're just geusts from afar
sent from some distant star
we see hope and love in many
when nightmares rule-theres plenty
we're the shapers,the shifters
the movers,the takers
look for us often
we'll be your guide your journey
your keyhole through eternity

cruel potato

hello potato man
picking on me now
loveless in
the heart
how dare you
after attacking
my girlfriend
your pretty
sick if
you ask me

striking a cruel blow
just attacked me
for no reason
in your written words
on winged pegasus
dark horse
out of the garbage bin
throwing your horrible feelings
bruising me

horrid little man
with a brain
full of starch
get yourself
a personality
sounds like
your all mashed up

thank you for
the cruel comment
your just
a joke
in my eyes
to the world
who will see

what a narrow
minded person
you will never
be happy
just miserable
i see this
when i looked
upon your written words

Delusional Minds

One that craves attention
One that creates delusions
One that seeks to play
One that hides behind a mask
One that appears brave
One that walks faceless in the dark
One that wears a thousand faces in the light
One that seek a thousand answers to its starvation
One that harbors a hunger deep within
A hollow echo ripples through the wall
Scratching the tunnel of sanity
A screaming Banshee searching for its family
Leaving behind trails of broken shards
Realizing the widening black emptiness inside
Noticing its needs to find a friend
Contemplating tactics to maneuver around dark matters
Looking for light that shines
A softness that will hold its own darkness
Crawl if it must to reach for that enlightenment
through the density of crackling unreasonable thoughts
.... just to find the filtering softness of a specific light
that will look this way .....

.... until then.... it will continue to crave longingly ...
for the P_E_A_C_E ..... that it does not have ......

Inner self

"Why are you making such a fuss?",
"She wasn't who you thought she was.",
"You are such a sucker for love",
My inner self just sounds so smug,
I drown him out with drink and drugs,
The things I do so I don't think,
Like so many driven to the brink,
I know I'm strong,
But yet I'm weak,
My eyes like faucets
Can't stop the leak...

The winding stair

Im walking to an ancient room,
Down corridors, up winding stairs,
Treading through the dust and gloom,
Voices echo but noone's there,
To a twisted tower my steps lead,
Behind a banded wooden door,
A library of books to read,
Mystic long forgotten lore,
Instructions on making potions,
Incantations, wards, and spells,
Calling on the names of angels,
Invoking all the lords of hell,
Information very few have,
Not for laymen weak of soul,
Magic wands and wizards staffs,
Chills to make the blood run cold,
Specteres haunt this special place,
Trapped between above and below,
Energies I warp and weave,
Dark powers I can't let go...

Unknown

GYPSY SOUL

The four corners of the earth; she searches
With bare feet and solitude
The raging fire within her camp
Calls of the wild inside her
A GYPSY SOUL;
She has no hearth to call her own
Just a raven night
Her eyes as diamond black that tells a tale
Wanderer she is; taken solice
Where the wovles cry
Gypsy soul, "Where do you go?"
With a slight determined smile, where I choose
My destiny is my curse, freedom is my love
All is not naught
For there is a place for a creature as I
A GYPSY SOUL;
Where green grass and wildflowers flow
The babbling brook, and weeping willow
Give me rest, nurture
And the blackest of night, comforts
For her destiny is unknown
And her soul is of a gypsy
The moon her lover
Wind moves her, for her journey is forever
GYPSY SOUL
Restless spirit on endless flight
For I go, "Where I choose

Guilt

Embedded image from another site

It's so easy to obtain
from day to day living
you find yourself
with more of it...

Why am I still here?
I can still keep this
or just pass it on
think I'll keep a small portion...

Maybe for those long nights
when I forget I'm human
I can dredge it up
floating down from the sky...

My sky ceiling
covered with stars
that glow in the dark
beautiful just for you...

Then one day you wake up
the guilt is over filled
just for you
as you look in the mirror...

I say, "hey you"
"old you"
the "new you"
who the hell cares?

That was the guilt
from last night
that was then
this is now....

The period

There was a period when I struggled with my grief,
A period of time when I couldn't find release,
A period when I denied it was over,
Then came a period when I couldn't find closure,
A period came when I didn't have a friend,
Then a dark period when I almost decided to end it,
A hanging period at the noose of a twisted rope,
A period when I finally found a way to cope,
After a period when I totally came unglued,
Before a period when I finally said "I'm through..."
