The night was dark, much darker than
A night like this should be
Though moon was out and shining bright
It did not reach through the trees
The silence here was absolute
Even the wind was deathly still
No faintest creak of swaying tree
Or rustle from their leaves
No scurrying sound on forest floor
As creatures go about nightly tasks
No hoot of owl from top of trees
It was as if all had died within
The senses slowly become aware
Of a stench most odious and vile
This hateful smell like hands reach out
To grasp all within it's reach
And now a sound to chill to the bone
Of something that was spawned elsewhere
Not part of this planet called 'Earth'
But from deep within the hell of hells
The only chance to escape alive
Is to leave right now before too late
Perchance should you see this thing
Then be dammed to hell for eternity

Thinkin and Drinkin went out one weekend,
Thinkin went cause he wanted to play,
But Drinkin was lookin for trouble that day,
See he wouldn't listen to Thinkin's demands,
That's when Drinkin got way out of hand...

GIVE ME
Give me the wind and i'll give you breath sustaining
your life when you have none left
Give me the moon and i'll show you light
leading the way when you have no fight
Give me the strength and i'll give you power
blooming in sunshine as a red rosed flower
Give me the good fortune and i'll brng you luck
energising the soul when you come unstuck
Give me the knowledge and i'll show you life
avoiding all falseness that cuts like a knife
Give me direction and i'll tread your path
discouraging the hecklers the doubters the wrath
Give me the patience and i'll wait my time
where loyalty runs deep and talking is fine.
Give me these things and i will be blessed
then stopping all judgements opinions and stress
Another of my rambling muses

About this poem:
Just thinking of some random things that are depressing. Work and the raining cold day helped.

So many voices,
Screaming,whispering,yelling,
Telling me what to do,
Getting hard to decide,
Which side to deny,
And which side to listen to,
Where am I?,
Am I still alive?
Which one is me?
I've lost my own Identity...

This world of hope and dreams, locked away behind steel laden walls never to be. Fake kisses with a goal, hiding behind a canopy of lies. Soulless dreams in a puritanical fantasy, this is what virtual love has become to me.

Rich and famous, world at theyre feet
A few miles away, people live on the street
Thousand pound handbags,diamonds and gold
Another pensioner dies from the cold
Luxury cars,the new gucci dress
Shut out the starving, thats not our mess
The pool..it needs cleaning for tonights bash
A hungry young family could do with the cash
Lets go play some golf, then have a fine meal
Third world starvation, that aint no big deal
My iphone six,my prada shoes
Tsunamis and floods,,quick...turn off the news
My new rolex watch,,oh...pass the champagne
The focus on wealth....The world is insane..

Author: Mama Harper (Mama's Family: Season 4
Once upon a time
There lived two evil children
They went into the woods looking for mischief
And they found it
A house made out of candy!
So the two thieving kids started eating the roof
The nice old lady who lived inside heard the commotion
She did the only nice thing she could do
She threw the two brats into her oven and made gingerbread men
She then took them to the fair and won a blue ribbon
The end

About this poem:
I heard this story told on Mama's Family Season 4. The one where Mama has to babysit a mean kid. It is a funny episode as this kid ties mama up, fills the bathroom with shaving lather, draws on her table clothe, and many other pranks.

Lingering (in foggy haze)
Silhouettes of lost souls
(basket people muttering)
Lingering
(as they always do)
Culture of poverty
holding up signs
will work for food
the barefoot children
HIV and hunger
the powerless mothers...
Lingering
Cult of personalities speak
(the politicians)
eager for answers we listen
to false hope.
Lingering
Embers dancing in the wind
and the Spanish Moss
that hangs from magnificent oaks
begin to hang like funeral draperies
that echo meaningless sighs...
Lingering...

a somber day in this life
nothing makes sense in this life
why do I hurt today from this life
we search for answers we can't find
disease took loved ones that were kind
that empty hole has taken your heart
it's dead right now and needs a start
well I miss them much in this life
to see them smile again in this life
and if they read these words in this life
we search for cures greed and money hide
from companies that put our lives aside
they make medicine without a cure
and if it works it will cost you more!
these sore teary eyes from this life
can't fix this hollow space in this life
to feel like your so alone in this life
we lose our way from the hurt and pain
looking for someone whom is to blame
searching for answers but not in time
a spot on the scan or is it benign
vague memories are left in this life
if I could just freeze time in this life
and what might of been in this life
well theres no easy answer one can find
just live out your life and always be kind
its never too late theres always some hope
even through tough days when its hard to cope
things will be better now in this life
my sun will shine brightly in this life
and if I could believe myself in this life
we need to look past the dark filled skies
look up to the heavens and not question why
in all of lifes creation we start and we end
but whats more important is the love you send
we'll always be here when your time arrives
so live out your life-live it alive!
never look back-move forward and drive!
