Virtual Love

From this reality, my spirit flees
To the disembodied entities
Cast net wide for all my days;-
World unwilling to give in praise.

From my spirit's broken halo
Thoughts or fancies off they go
Walking on the water's edge
The dreadful deep of cyberspace.

Hoping for a forlorn grace
Or something good to take its place
Never have I felt so old
With my spirit growing cold.

Feel affection drying up
Like a beggar without a cup
Homeless heartless without a place
See the ruin in my face.

Cast off another virtual thought
Poet's feelings can't be taught
See a list of hollow conquests
Yet I don't have any regrets.

The artificial world is coming
Rats in mazes - we are running
No more romance of yesteryear
The uncertain futures here.

Population exponential
Don't say that I haven't warned you -
Like the sheep in a paddock
Don't know that a drought is coming.

Still, we care, still, we love
Take a pill and cut feelings off
Maybe I have loved too many
Now it seems I can't have any.

About this poem:
Don't mean to be overly morbid; this is just the flip side of our world today.

Disengage

Embedded image from another site

I whispered into the emptiness afraid of what I'm might hear
But even more afraid that there would be nothing there
My shadow casted fear and gave a reason for my pain
As my thoughts became like rotten fruit and they began to fall away
My lips utter desperately from deep inside a broken heart
I look up to the heavens, but my flesh stays hidden in the dark
Where silence fills the voids to disengage and disrepair
Better days let me escape and evaporate into the air
There I sit beside myself when I'm alone at night
As I listen to the melodies of the dead trying recapture life
And from this sorrow loneliness became my only friend
While emptiness replayed their voices over and over again

Throw the book

I will throw the book at you,
I mean it !,
A heartbreaking work of staggering genius,
A volume of greatness thoroughly unrivalled,
If spoken in word,
A lifelong recital,
Adjectives , nouns,
Profuse and profound,
Bluer than skies,
Browner than ground,
Oblong ,obtuse,
Ovoid ,round,
Just speaking its language would pervert the sound,
Twisting your tounge as it exits your mouth,
Breaking down decibels and
Sub sonic physics,
Complex melodies and unfathomed rythmics,
Rolling, spinning, flipping like a olympic gymnast,
Perfect symmetry with syllables surrounding,
Compound consonants come constantly crowding,
With waves of wondrous words unbounding,
Corrupting ,confusing completely confounding,
Till by the end Im screaming and shouting,
My vocal chords choking from all of the pounding...

Seek

Oh heart...why do you seek?
Doesn't heartbreak make you weak?
Remember all those tears you cried?
Just because of another heart that lied.
Those broken promises,those wasted years,
Those memories that created your fears.
And still you hope, still you seek.
Poor broken heart...aren't you weak?

About this poem:
This is a short poem of a heart hoping even in fear.It is incomplete, words pouring out of me in a few seconds. Commanding me to bring these feelings to life and I did because words too need to breathe.

You mask it all too well

I thought you left
Mindful of your future
Your fear of losing your senses
Broken and deserted
Was it your pride
Or your fear that made you leave?
Nah, it was your calculating mind
You knew what we had was good
Maybe even better than those
You've shut out from your heart
But what do I know
I was only a ghost trying to sate
The void that can't ever be filled
Because you always want those
That you can't ever get...

You'll always be alone

Bitter and abandoned,

And the funny thing is?

You can mask it all too well
Relishing in pleasure
Even as you're writhing in pain
Shattered in shards of bitterness
Numbed in pain, bleeding and broken.

SO HORRIBLY UNKIND

Always trouble ahead,
So much trouble behind,
If I can't discover,
A way to hover,
Over this darkened cover,
I think I'll lose my mind,

In my home there's a room,
Shut in like a tomb,
And so disguise the lies,
Muffle my anguished cries,
That are so Horribly Unkind,

The glittering sparkles on a distant shore,
A ship set adrift forevermore,
Draws me falsely to delusionary hope,
I will no, not ever,
Find a way to cope,

Disguising the lying,
Muffle anguished crying,
Listen to my mournful sighing,

Sparkling glitter,
On a distant shore,
I am dying,
I have lost my
mind,
So Horribly,
Unkind

About this poem:
Life ain't right sometimes. In spite of our attempts to cope we can't seem to iron out all the wrinkles. We seem paused (stuck!) in a terrible place where our dreams appear gone forever and all we focus on is our problems, past, present, and future.

Through The Mirror

Through the mirror I did stride
And met my evil self
There he was on the other side
As bold as you could please
What brings you here
He spoke, a snarl upon his face
Go, leave, or I'll turn you
Into another one like me
Face to face I stood with me
And liked not what I saw
Could this me be like me
This side that was so evil
Quickly now I strode back round
To leave my evil me
I had stood and faced myself
Was shocked at what I'd seen
Could we all have this evil side
This battle for control
I can see him watching me
He's locked up so tight
Given a chance he'd race right out
And fight me for control

Black Canyon

My mind slips away to the canyon
of tortured souls
It is a solemn place between
death and " for whom the bell tolls"
Its seems a barrier for colour to foray
as all is black or a particular shade of grey
There is no night or sun of day
Only that eternal shade of gloom they say
Joy and happiness have all faded
to a somber tone of despair
With hearts that are sorely jaded
Never by choice enter there
Even the water has become brackish
No temptation to sip this stew
Drip from your lips..its actually blackish
Or perhaps even a darker hue
The souls cry their crystal tears
And with time they attain a new guise
Their penance done subdues their fears
After the drops have made the pond rise
And with conviction swim to a new plateau
Making room for new despondent ghouls
within the grey canyon far below
of lost and tormemted souls

I have entered and swam back too
As a tortured soul perhaps... have you?

Just a reminder of where the brain can
wander if we don't keep a positive attitude
and it was time for something a bit dark!!

despair

i love you so much
all i want is you back
another chance
is all i ask.
you love me too
and for what its worth
i know im not alone
you too,must hurt.

can't eat
can't sleep
my mind is a racing
can't think
can't focus
your heart too, must be aching.

don't tell me to move on
have you completely lost your mind
how can i convince you
you were born to be mine.
you can't have met another
you can't wish for me the same
but i forgive you cause i love
dispite your sounding insane.

minds racing
but i'll fix this
you won't feel a thing
just my loving kiss.
i won't say how
just trust me as you once did
i cant have you thinking
like you, my minds twisted.

as i stand here loading
i do so with two
iv not become selfish
i have one for you.
but isnt that typical
thinking of you as i always do
but how can i not
when im so very much, in love with you.

About this poem:
love the one your with and when you look for love dont look to be ones everything because saddly, too quickly too easily you can become any of the two in my poem... either one, the one pulling the trigger or the one at the other end of the gun.

In My Grave

In my grave I lie alone
Cold earth all around me
All this time to contemplate
Those deeds I've done so wrongly

Fair maidens hearts that I had broke
Used, abused then dumped them
Some were scarred all their lives
And others decided to end it

Money I took from people poor
With not a thought to their comfort
Left families to starve to death
And left them totally broken

In my quest to gain world power
Wars I conveniently started
As the death toll rose to thousands
Happily I counted my money

Now here I am in my grave
Tis a living hell I'm caught in
Was it worth all the things I'd done
I'd take them back in a second
