I Remember you now.

You made me believe again
and not in second chances
but hope in its truest form
that destiny romances

and there is just a way
red ribbons burning down
left upon your walls
lonely on your crown

that you could once release
never show the world to me
but just a tiny piece
of all you seem to be

you are something sacred
you are more than words
the missing incantation
bloodletting from your swords

I remember another time
in another far off place
we met like this on a road once
but you didnt know my face

you said hello traveler
would you like to stop a while?
hear a tale of a weary wander
whos walked too many miles

and you sang and I listened
and I swear i heard it true
it was not just another melody
but truly a piece of you

and you laid it in the air
and it gently drifted down
into the fires crackling light
then landed on the ground

it sprouted up and bloomed
upon my very grave
been going on eternities
the one i can not save
a moment that escapes me
i knew it by its scent
it calls to me for release
and i think its heaven sent

it seems to sell no sense now
but blink and try i might
to close my eyes and dream
within this fallow night

there came another whisper
of a song i heard before
a thousand years this lonely road
weve walked it all before

but still we keep on meeting
and still we act surprised
like nothing more than children
along for a quiet ride

but it was anything but
because the song it carried through
it told me of the growing
and it told me of the yew

and there was a light in the middle
and a place i could not name
burning yearning capturing
something akin to flame

upon your shoulders
down the small of your back
id like to finish the story
but i think im losing track

but someday it will come to me
and i sware ill write it down
right this wrong and walk on through
not just another town

waiting on the outskirts
to hear that song
just one more time
and find my way home

The tree it lives forever
within and around
it sheds its own light
upon the beacon drowned

I swore that i would find you
and now im glad to wait
all it costs is happen stance
and carrying the weight

Now the words are tired
the stories had its fill
its time to sleep and dream again
up upon that hill.

Where once two weary travelers
met in the midst of night
glowing gleaming blinding
but somehow it was right.

The shape of heart mishapen
and leaden lay the key
but all im asking is for stories
you to come and go with me

Free in your ways
and me in mine
take flight in the sky
and recognize the time

About this poem:
I wrote this a while back. I believe i wrote it for my soulmate. Theres a story that goes with it from childhood. I dont know if its true but it gives me something to believe in when life is cold and lonely. It sits with me and warms me by the fire.
When i was in kindergarten there was a little girl. She had read a book about reading palms. It was just a silly kids game. So i let her read mine. She told me i would be married twice, once for a short time, which i was, to my first wife for a year when i was very young man. A second time to my second wife for a very long time, which i was 23 years. She even told me I would have two kids, which i did a boy and a girl. Then she said I would meet somebody, with red hair to spend the rest of my life with. I try not to read to much into things but sometimes its nice just to have something to believe in you know? Even if its not true i guess its not hurting anybody to keep a little bit of faith in your back pocket. Hope you enjoy the poem and I wish you all the best in your own travels. May your journey lead you to your own heart and home.

the face of god

I took a walk in ancient clothes
across your face, a mile
and as I tired I took a rest
in the corner of your smile

my crops slept in barren fields
before my primary death
then your eyes became a sun and moon
as birds danced in your breath

to me you are a woman
vast fields of shimmering hair
in the hardest trials I see you
when no-one else is there

I sailed across your angry tides
when I bowed to grief and fear
yet I always find safe anchor
in the harbour of your ear

The Game

Sitting here waiting for the day,
the price I may pay,
Age old, not knowing how
this came be, I cannot see,

For once I was young, seems
like yesterday, where life went
I cannot say,

Life is gone in blink, before you
can think,
It's over and done, the final mile
makes me smile,

As I watch it begin, heaven and
hell, love and sin,
Everyone going nowhere, noone
to care,

Passing time in circles, running
through the gauntlet of life,
Imaginary worry, and Imaginary
strife,

And when it's over, we start
again, to play this game,
always the same,
trouble and strife in this
game of life.

Untitled

From beyond the vail of my broken heart,
Comes a new beginning of what is true.
From the oars of a boat lost at sea,
Coming to shore to start something new.

Up In the sands of this golden shore,
Lucid dreams of you come soring in.
Just like the coming of the high tide,
This love for you, my dear, will begin.

Enter the light i

I dreamed of light
A up hill tunnel so bright
Shines from heaven above
Voices heard from distant past
Familiar sounds Voices long gone
They sound familiar could be my mum
Long time gone taken in her prime
We dare not make a sound you listen to the sound as you follow the path of light your body lies motion gone now stiff to touch you lie the voices whisper come follow us you will have fun come to the light the jingle of keys locks now open do you want to follow us
Voice heard light shines so bright you try to focus blinded by the light your times not up go back from where you come
Motion regain breathing heavy
You back again from your journey to the light

Ice cream, just ice cream

I like ice cream on a sunny day and birds singing in the month of May, I like to see caterpillars crawl, snow fall, rain against my window pane, stormy winds that make me shiver, and float in peace on a winding river, I like peaceful times, soulful rhymes, but most of all, how it should be, what I'd like to see, is I care for you, and you care for me.

The night the bard of Stratford died

The night the bard of Stratford died
Ye olden days to which we yearn
now to whom this may concern
those river parts before the sea
are usually taken by degree
a flood can hardly be contained
with darkest sun, and moon that waned
she flew along to meet the tide
the night the bard of Stratford died

The night the bard of Stratford died
the sky turned ugly, open wide
animals hid inside their barns
taverns reeled with horrid yarns
and down upon the cobbled road
the beasts that struggled with their load
said to natures law we must abide
the night the bard of Stratford died

The night the bard of Stratford died
a court was formed, the innocent tried
a priest was called into the room
butcher, baker, bride and groom
and on the morrow we shall see
the tailor make a guilty plea
the judge determined a soldier lied
the night the bard of Stratford died

Truthfully life with no vision!

To learn, to know, to be, to grow, and all the could be’s, and
All the should be’s lost in ignorance, a waste of space and a
Waste of time, a waste of life no reason no rhyme,
At sixteen, just a teen, at twenty one, more to be seen,
At thirty one friends have come and gone, no lesson learned,
Not yet, still stubbornly bold, cannot be told, but there’s time
To be, and time to see, and forty one, same old song, hope there’s
Future not the final gong, so, fifty one passes by, at sixty one, over
And done, too late to be, to late to see, forever destined never to
Be free, you’ve lived a life of stupidity, now you’re wealthy and strong
So many things you think you have, so much riches you think you
Own, until you lie dead cold as stone!

Poets ways!

Is poets corner the place to be?, to lose ourselves in our history? to complain in verse of a life gone wrong?, or sing out loud our favourite song?, let feelings out what's life about?, or whisper quietly, help someone out?, when someone writes abusefully, it's not their fault, they cannot see, allow those things to be that way, help them more, nothing more to say!

The young!

The young, what can you say? naive and innocent, and damm frustrating, no sense of life, always rushing in, and they know it all, until they fall, and then they ask for assistance, they show (this time) no resistance, so we help them up, (again) and help them on their way to this video game of life they play, until reality comes to call,
it's then they grow up,................. just like us all.
