I'm thinking of Nokia, Blackberry, HTC and others who failed holding the market share against Apple, Samsung and Google. While they are still around, their focus is in technology other than cellphones.
In 1969, I saw the Amboy Dukes perform at the Miami Jai Alai Fronton. Again in 1970 at a Miami concert venue called The Place. If I recall, Nugent was the only original member and renamed the act to Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes.
In 1971, I joined a band who did some outdoor rock concerts in Fort Lauderdale and as far north at a college in Deland, near the middle of the state. Some of the other bands we played alongside were Tin House and Brownsville Station. Also in 1971 we opened for Ted Nugent at a college in Boca Raton.
Several stories have appeared this week and one reader comment was about payment to Stormy Daniels, that it wasn't being unreported. She appeared in court, but never called as a witness.
From what I read, payment to her came from Trump's attorney Michael Cohen and not directly from the Trump Organization. Cohen was repaid/reimbursed in installments, so that could have easily washed as salary to Cohen, keeping Stormy out of the money trail.
Yesterday, we made it to the National Museum of the US Air Force. I've been there a few times before. This time, we saw the I-Max 3D video about D-Day.
My visit included a 7 minute visit to the simulator. A metal bench seat and handrail with no seat belts, so you had to 'hold tight' not to side to the floor!
I saw an Eagles tribute band tonight. The venue was a theater that was built over 150 years ago and seats 1,100. The guitar players were good, harmony good, the bass player's sound was a muddy rumble, annoying at times and the lead singer (who sang Don Henley's parts) struggled with the high notes. The audience loved them and that's all that mattered.
Enigma, I too had a CB life. One of the helicopter pilots owned a TV & electronics repair shop. He got us started so we could communicate on modified radios that had more than 40 channels, less traffic.
I had friends in Venezuela who would talk every day after work and conditions were so good I could talk with them from my car!
The locals with base stations would get into group chats, movie reviews, trivia and lots of fun. Probably 20 of us. I asked my neighbor if he wanted to go to dinner. I suggested a place and to my surprise a handful of other people came to meet us.
BLUEBIRD... WHERE ARE YOU?? She was a local who would be up half the night talking to anyone who would listen.
1975 a group of model helicopter enthusiasts would meet on weekends at a county park. At the time, the radio control hobby was using 72mhz with limited 12 channels of FCC allocations. Radios were crystal controlled and you had to wait to fly if your frequency was in use. Often some careless person would turn on a transmitter and the aircraft who had authorization to fly would get jammed and crash. We decided to get technician class licenses so we could switch to 6 meters and have crystals cut on private frequencies.
The point of my blog was clear. My plan is to sell my gear. It's a good read as a point in time.
I doubt any of the people who ready my blogs would have the slightest interest in amateur radio, why bother? With internet, you can communicate globally any time of the day with voice and video. So why attempt to convert someone away from something so powerful?
The inquiry at the radio club confirmed I have lost interest in that hobby.
From the top of the blogs page: "A Blog is a journal you may enter about your life, thoughts, interesting experiences, or lessons you've learned."
"Officials on Monday identified the six men killed in a deadly collision between two vintage military aircraft at a Dallas air show, all of whom were experienced aviators with years of flight training."
Lots. As a fellow blogger, I think I offer a perspective different than yours. Hopefully eye-opening that things that I see are different than things you see.
Got it. What you are saying is rich people who live in densely populated areas and not farms, don't deal with reality, are heavily swayed by news an media.
How long did it take you to arrive at that belief?

In a similar story, I knew a kid in school who was treated poorly because his father did prison time. He was often unfairly bullied about it. That's tough growing up feeling the pain of something your parents did... or didn't do.
I gave your blog a 'like' not because I agree. I liked that your blog addressed a touchy subject directly and I would expect it to bring lots of comments!
