RE: Tibet, South China Sea, India, Vietnam and now Hong Kong---with Taiwan next in the glory line up....

Profile deleted? Strange! It was me.

RE: Looks like they were right.....sort of.

@oldeguy The One Child policy actually started in 1980, and was replaced by a two-child policy in 2016., so I cannot guess where you got 2013 from It was responsible for creating a huge gender imbalance in the young population, wealth in the following generation, and lack of carers in an aging population. The so-called 'left-over women' phenomenon in China is consequently a nonsense since there is an excess of 45m marriageable males, and graduate females far outnumber the males, so like it or not, they'll have to marry better educated and better qualified women.

RE: COVID-19: Why media not highlighting or hiding the success story of Taiwan?

Taiwan? Why not mention Vietnam - next-door-neighbour of China ...

RE: Visiting Old ______

RE: there is only one race - the human race

Pak-ah-pu by the way: Pakapoo (pinyin baigepiao 'white dove ticket' sometimes spelt pak-ah-pu) is a Chinese lottery game popular in Oceania in the 19th century, including on the Victorian Goldfields. The master ticket is kept hidden and is marked by the organiser of the game.

Looks much like an early form of Keno!

Whoops - case sensitive:

RE: there is only one race - the human race

Australia also interned British nationals of German ancestry in World War I, and German Italian and Japanese ancestry in World War II. The numbers were of course much less, 7,000 in WWI, 12,000 in WWII.
The infamous White Australia Policy of 1901-1966 restricted non-white immigration and deported undesirable residents.

RE: Your 'Favorite' Trump lies

Testing does not reduce deaths, on the contrary it reduces deaths to confirmed ratio, and that's good coz it shows what a great health system 'we' have. Globally that's looking like 5% and that's about what US confirms - doesn't matter how you dice them, it's converging thereabouts.

when finding a rhyme for the Pelican?
I never eat more than my belly can
accommodate.
I abominate
Being stuffed full of fish
And wish
To return as an albatross

RE: Remember the Carnivals when you were a kid?

A sad sob story of Wirth's circus, perhaps about 1950. I used to catch the bus to Narrabeen alone, aged 5, going to the pre-school there - and there alongside Narrabeen lake I saw the circus tent pitched. I begged begged, piteously begged mum to take me there for my birthday, and she sick and burnt from the deep-ray treatment agreed. My father in hospital, war wounds and cancer. (Both survived the big C by the way). "But mum you have to take me to the Circus, you promised." One day, deadly ill she dragged herself out of bed, and we caught the bus to Narrabeen lakes... no circus, it had gone. So that wet grey day, she hired a rowboat and took me rowing under the grey grey sky. Her arms ached for weeks, poor mum. And no circus, poor me!

RE: The grain kernels in the friction rice whitener

Do not get bitten
By that mercedes kitten
For kitten she's not
And sharp claws she's got
Don't rub 'er up the wrong way
And dare not go astray
Nor goose her you goose
Or do anything gauche
well what rhymes with goose?
can we perhaps try caboose
Well that's my lot,
And you can see
I've just lost the plot.

RE: The grain kernels in the friction rice whitener

@Merc ... you need rubbing up the wrong way? Risky business! Risky business! Black and blue all over I think

RE: Excitement Builds For The Most Popular Campaign Rally In History Tonight! President Donald J. Trump!

the BUMP reminds me of a story from Edgar Allan Poe, I'm sure I recall a head rolling down the road... or perhaps it's just the Telltale Heart

RE: Aussie universities....

FourCheeses Should you happen to look back at what you just wrote, stepping outside yourself, so to speak, what would you think? A genius? Or a demented incoherent idiot? No need to ask me what I think, of course, 'blathering idiot' comes to mind.

RE: MAGA Campaign Failure

It remains a matter for astonishment that America has chosen these two as the best America has to offer as their leader. Deep sigh.

RE: Excitement Builds For The Most Popular Campaign Rally In History Tonight! President Donald J. Trump!

He's a puffed up toad, he's got plenty of puff left yet. Just as he has a lot more humiliation to come.

@GeneralBeak Why on earth do you claim TikTok as communist? - communist obsessed you guys are. It is owned and developed by a mainland Chinese company.

RE: Unnecessary risks in the urban environment(3)

This give me a perfect example for my lessons on simple past tense, past perfect and present perfect tense. It worked for Bobbitt too - up to a point, the point being when his wife grabbed a knife. So of course has worked will be the focus. Worked is the tense someone delivering the eulogy will use.
All the dangers in my life have been self made. The sports car on an icy mountain road. Up a tall ladder with a chainsaw. Climbing a snow mountain on a sunny day with no gear. Riding downhill in the dark after a liquid party. As I say self-made madness

RE: Excitement Builds For The Most Popular Campaign Rally In History Tonight! President Donald J. Trump!

a damp squid.

RE: Aussie universities....

@lcbr see, here's the problem with your logic. Like Bush saying about 20 years ago 'if you are not with us, you are agin us' ...
Pointing out again and again that your arguments for Epoch Times anti-China arguments are gullible, is not supporting China or its government at all. It is just saying that Epoch Times lies and creates seemingly credible videos to spread its lies. I have never said anything FOR China's government, in fact.
I do detest the Abbott government deceased, and the current Australian government, but how on earth can you conclude I prefer China's government. Feeble logic, feller.

RE: All are equal

actually two RIGHT hands!

RE: All are equal

What gives with the two LEFT brown hands in the centre???

RE: DELICACY : PINAS PUTO

@mic - his photo - his head is leaning to the left! rolling on the floor laughing

RE: DELICACY : PINAS PUTO

The left-leaning toad thinks by claiming he plants misspellings and other clever contrivances he can thus evade scrutiny...
No doubt he thinks Vanilla sounds like Manila so of course both have two 'L's? Nicht wahr ol' fella? Like, if he was a surgeon, now, vas ist das? two kidneys, vitch vun should I remove? Oh who cares, anyvun ist genug!

RE: Interesting

Interesting to note the cicadas, akubra hat and unmistakable Australian bush about 10-12 mins into the video. At that point the presenter's voice became instantly Australian too ... some element of perception had kicked in

RE: a thing of value

So thanks for that, now I have acquired the phrase 'Murica moment' ...
