Yes I do, it's a cheap date.laugh

RE: Social Media

This and a car site is the only social media I routinely engage in. I don't use facebook even though I'm a stock holder in the company. I really dislike how some of these co's mine data on peoples browsing history, friends, comments, politics, emails, etc etc. Google is one of the worst. It seems there is no such thing as privacy anymore.

RE: What do you think it means when you see a rainbow ?

Is he talking about rainbows?confused

RE: What do you think it means when you see a rainbow ?

Has anybody ever seen a rainbow from above like from a plane? If so you will see that a rainbow is round. I has no beginning or end. The closest thing to describing a rainbow is a soap bubble. You can't see a rainbow from inside the bubble which is why rainbows appear after the rain has passed. The bubble moves away from you til you're outside the bubble when you can finally see it. I've seen double and even triple rainbows but the third rainbow was really hard to make out. That's the result of a bubble inside of another bigger bubble. It's quite a beautiful sight.
There is nothing spiritual about a rainbow it's just a part of the science of meteorology dealing with water vapor and sunlight.

RE: Should a Country run to the aid of another Country at war ?

What are you going to do with the poll results?

RE: What are our "best" global energy pathways?

Here's a dirty little secret the oil Co's don't want you to know. The typical refinery routinely wastes enough energy to supply a medium size town with all their gas needs. Those tall stacks with the huge orange flame burning on top is gas that can be used for cooking and electric production and 100 other things but they don't have the infrastructure to deal with it because the profit is in oil so they just burn it off to get rid of it.

There is hope though. Most people are unaware that we are at the beginning of a revolution going on in the transportation sector. The switch from Diesel fuel to natural gas. It is starting with big over the road trucks. While that is happening railroads are also getting interested in converting to Nat gas, they are already testing gas powered locomotives. Following trucks and trains will come ships and they are by far the biggest users of oil and also the biggest polluters as they use the dirtiest no 6 Bunker oil which is also known as residual oil. While bunker oil is literally the bottom of the barrel; the only things more dense than bunker fuel are carbon black feedstock and bituminous residue which is used for paving roads (asphalt) and sealing roofs. I think the last sector to switch to gas will be cars.
So the future actually looks brighter as the demand for natural gas increases making it economically feasible to capture and sell the gas instead of just venting it or burning it off.
Future generation are going to look back at these times and shake their heads in disbelief that we were so irresponsible to just put a match to a great, clean source of energy.

RE: Do Adam & Eve have navels ? If so then why ?

Kinda makes you wonder if the old masters who painted, what, 100's of depictions of Adam & Eve, all with belly buttons ever even gave it a thought as to how the "good book" said they were created. Let me see, Adam was created from a lump of clay no need for a belly button especially as he was created in gods image therefore god didn't have a belly button either because there is no mention of him having a mother or being "born". This imaginary God never even gave a thought when he supposedly created Adam to the propagation of the human race because based on later events when he realized that Adam was lonely did he finally think about creating Eve. Prior to that he thought Adam wanted a bunch of animals to keep him company, what kind of god is this to be so thick and insensitive to the needs of his creation?
Read the following very carefully:
The people long long ago who created this myth of god and the garden of eden and Adam & Eve weren't very smart to create such a story so full of flaws. They didn't even know that a day was 1 revolution of the earth on its axis and daylight comes from the Sun, "let there be light, and there was light" laughable! If you read Genesis you'll see that these people were totally ignorant about just about everything to do with the earth and the solar system and the universe. These people, who hadn't been long out of caves or down from the trees, did the best they could, explaining the world they lived in with the knowledge they possessed which was extremely little.

RE: Stop Smoking

A couple of years ago I started a poll which asked the question did you like or not like your first cigarette and are you a smoker or non smoker. I had noticed that people who were life long smokers enjoyed their first one and non smokers did not. What is your opinion about this? My feeling was if this is true, it could serve as a warning to young people if they enjoy their first experience with a cigarette, they would be very wise to avoid it like the plague or they are destined to become life long smokers and probably live a short life and die a miserable death.

RE: Stop Smoking

Move to New York City where the tax on a pack of smokes is 6 Dollars.

RE: Boston Police Take Three Additional Suspects Into Custody.....The Plot Thickens

I'm looking forward to the book, followed by the movie.

RE: FCC May Be Considering Allowing F-Word, Frontal Nudity On Network TV !!

I generally don't vote in polls because I think they have no usable purpose. But to answer the question I wouldn't care to see the front of a naked man and the F word is over used already to the point it loses any impact. So I think it's a bad idea. If I want to see a naked woman I can do that anytime I want to.

And now for something a little different.

Pre Rock and Roll pop music

I luv it! I also am really impressed by this one with Natalie Cole and her dad. Such a beautiful picture of the two of them sitting at the piano you can really feel the love he had for his adorable little girl. Whoever made that overdub duet did a fantastic perfect job.

The difference between dogs and cats

They work in completely different ways, The dog is much more simple, which makes him lovable, like a child. The cat is more complex, and should be respected.

THE DOG'S DIARY:

7 am- Oh boy! A walk! My favorite!
8 am- Oh boy! Dog food! My favorite!
9 am- Oh boy! The kids! My favorite!
Noon- Oh boy! The yard! My favorite!
2 pm- Oh boy! A car ride! My favorite!
3 pm- Oh boy! The kids! My favorite!
4 pm- Oh boy! Playing ball! My favorite!
6 pm- Oh boy! Welcome home Mum! My favorite!
7 pm- Oh boy! Welcome home Dad! My favorite!
8 pm- Oh boy! Dog food! My favorite!
9 pm- Oh boy! Tummy rubs on the couch! My favorite!

11 pm- Oh boy! Sleeping in my people's bed! My favorite!

THE CAT'S DIARY:

Day 183 of my captivity...

My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from clawing the furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.

Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded. Maybe I should try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favourite chair - must try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little kitty cat I was. This is not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More important, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing something called "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit.

The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant. He speaks with them regularly, and I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured.

But I can wait. It's only a matter of time..............

RE: Term Limits

Forgot the link.

RE: Term Limits

Even if Churchill knew about the impending Pearl Harbor attack (doubtful) he probably wouldn't have told FDR because:

"In Churchill's history of The Second World War he wrote of his emotions upon hearing that Japan had attacked United States forces at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Only "silly people, and there were many,” underestimated American strength. For him, the entry of the United States into the war meant that the ultimate outcome—favorable for his country—was now assured. Feeling "the greatest joy” that the attack had arrayed his mother's country on the side of Britain, he “went to bed and slept the sleep of the saved and thankful.”

Churchill wanted America to enter the second world war so why would he alert FDR about an event that would assure he got his wish?

The only reason you guys badmouth FDR is because he was a Democrat, if he was a Republican you'd be singing his praises the way you do for Reagan.

RE: Term Limits

Speaking of FDR, When you retire if you haven't already, you will be receiving a check every month from Social Security so you don't have to beg on the street. FDR did that.
Your savings acct is insured by FDIC so in case of a bank failure you wont lose your money. FDR did that.
If you invest in the stock market there's a watchdog agency keeping tabs on fraudulent transactions called the SEC. FDR did that.
If you're a farmer you can get insurance against crop failure like what corn farmers experienced recently in the Midwest called Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC). FDR did that.
He abolished child labor with the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) brought electricity to millions of families in Appalachia. FDR did that too.

No president since FDR has even come close to accomplishing what he did. Unlike politicians today who do nothing but go on recess, he actually got things done.

RE: Term Limits

What are you saying? Are you saying that but for term limits George W Bush would have been re-elected? Are you crazy? Bush was lucky he wasn't kicked out of office.

RE: Term Limits

No, I don't believe in term limits. Term limits are an artificial form of choosing a public servant which usurps the right of the people to choose. If an elected official is doing a good job and the majority of the people are happy with the job he/she is doing, why should the person be forced to leave office? You know, we already have term limits, it called VOTING.

Where there should be a form of term limits it's the Supreme Court. Not only are SC judges appointed by the president, and not chosen by the people, they get to keep the job until they drop dead. That is fundamentally wrong and can and does lead to a polarized, politicized court.
