RE: my first grandchild...Emily Brooke

Shelia and I are expecting our first grandchild within the next month or so. Her son and daughter-in-law will be having a girl.

Had a bone to pick with them. They picked the name Elizabeth which is my ex-wifes name laugh

It goes to show how barbaric they are. Most of their laws are connected to their religion

RE: I Hit A Deer

Hope you're ok.

I've lost track of the small critters that have gone under my vehicles. I have even had to stand on the breaks to avoid hitting deer and so far I haven't hit one yet.
Came close to hitting a moose one night in northern NH. If it wasn't for the car ahead of me hitting it's brakes, I never would have been looking for what the driver ahead was braking for.
I always carry a pocket knife on me. I ever hit a deer, it won't suffer long and I'll be filling a freezergrin

RE: guys: to vasectomy or to not vasectomy?

Had it done a few years after my ex divorced me. By that time, in my late thirties, had two boys and didn't want anymore. I was starting to get back into dating and didn't want any "accidents". I was done bringing more kids into the world.

I had one on the bumper of a van I once ownedgrin

RE: MASS SHOOTING

I may not be a member of the NRA but I agree with this statement;

"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."
-Wayne LaPierre, NRA Executive Vice President

I believe a criminal would think twice about harming someone if most law abiding people were armed

RE: MASS SHOOTING

I know I said I wasn't going to get into this one but.......oh well

RE: MASS SHOOTING

My father kept his guns in the closet and us kids were taught gun safety by him, in Scouting and Hunter Safety course. If we ever touched his guns without permission, we were in big trouble

One of the things that was there that isn't now, is the right of a parent to discipline their children the way they see fit. My parents didn't believe in hitting us but we knew they could if we did something wrong. Today, you attempt to hit a child and social services gets called in

Some seem to think that just because someone gets mad, the guns are pulled. These situations are few and far apart

I've said it before and I'll say it again, gun bans DO NOT work (statistics prove it). We need stiffer penalties for the use of a deadly weapon in a crime.

RE: MASS SHOOTING

Think I'll stay out of this one. No sense in trying to explain something to people who refuse to see someone elses point of view.

RE: do you believe god of the holy bible is the only true god??

Oh god, not another one.

God is nothing more than a fictional character created to keep the masses in line. The Bible is nothing more than a book written by MAN

RE: Gun Control - Yes/No? Don't Take My Guns!

If I were to follow that advise if someone broke into my home with the intent to steal and cause bodily harm, it would be too frigging late to leave it to the "professionals"

If someone were to break into my home while I'm there, they will will not end up being a burden on society by being sent to prison. Instead they will be 6 feet under.

RE: Gun Control - Yes/No? Don't Take My Guns!

Sounds like a particular early cs member who was banned from here. She considered all gun owners to be cowards as well.

My guns are primarily used for putting food on the table, self-defense secondary

Earl

RE: Gun Control - Yes/No? Don't Take My Guns!

So, what you're saying is that a person carrying a gun is shot down with no questions asked. Doesn't sound like a place I'd want to live. Here in the US, a person is innocent until proven guilty

It's be a cold day in hell before I turn my guns in. With 6 acres of land in northern NH, I'll bury my weapons before giving them up

RE: Do you agree with raising tobbaco prices?

The price increase has pretty much made me decide to quit smoking cigarettes.

I'm almost in the backyard of Phillip Morris here in Concord NC. They had plans on shutting this plant down next year and move everything to Raleigh but due to the tax increases, they are thinking of shutting down this July. This is going to hurt the economy here

RE: North Myrtle Beach Fire!!

Heard in the news today the fire was started by a backyard fire that flared back up several days after it was put out

RE: WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DAY ON CS FORUMS LIKE?

When I first came here, there weren't as many options such as IM, the separate state forums and other options. There was only the one forums which is now called the International Forums.

This site as changed a lot in the four years I've been here.

I didn't do too much during the first week. I looked thru profiles and lurked on the forums getting to know who was who.

RE: Computer

No, wasn't Tiger Direct. Micro-Trend seems to come to mind but not sure

RE: Computer

Forget GateWay. They suck big time. My first computer was from them. Within the first 4 months, still within the warranty, my cd-rom bit the dust. My brother suggested this and that which I did to no avail. I called Gateway tech support and they told me to do the same things my brother said. From that point on, I got nothing but a run around from them. I ended up replacing the cd-rom out my own pocket.

The best one I had was a custom-built from an online site that I don't remember now as it's been so long ago. Still have it but needs a new motherboard

At the moment I'm using an HP.

As I use my computer mainly for gaming, my next one may be from Alienware

RE: WOULD YOU LIKE A DATE to QUIT SMOKING?

It's been a month as of yesterday since I've had a cigarette.

The reasons are:

Ouit for self (#2 It's time)
quit for health (#1 Had a triple by-pass at 35)
quit for a partner (#3 Makes her happy)
quit because of prices (#4 At almost $6 a pack, definitely time)
