RE: heart burn!!!

Did your doctor ask about history of heart disease? Usually the symptoms of both heart burn and heart attacks can be similiar. I wasn't much older than you when I started having minor heart attacks and then just before my 36th birthday had to have a triple by-pass.

Nine years ago, a cousin of mine died from a massive heart attack and he was only 10 months older than me.

Take care of yourself

I don't think it's them that's to blame, the blame should be on the parents for not teaching kids respect.

Know of any others that should be on this list? Why?

I think Electronic Arts (EA) should be. Dealt with their customer service and could barely understand the person on the other end as they were in India. Was upgrading a second UO account I had. It took several minutes to get the person to understand that my main account was already upgraded and that it was my second that I wanted taken care of. Wasn't long after this that I cancelled both of my accounts and started playing on private servers (RunUO)

Dump him, he's not worth it if he won't accept the responsibility of having a wife and child.

He's not a man if he hits you.

RE: How far would you go to protect yourself?

Goes to show what people from another country think they know about the US. It is illegal to own and sell a full automatic. It is illegal to use a military style (full auto) weapon for hunting deer.

Let's see, I own:
Handguns: 1 .38 special - Home defense and target shooting
1 .357 magnum - Home defense and target shooting

Rifles: 1 .22 semi - target shooting, holds 14 rounds in the tube magazine
1 9mm semi - target shooting, 7 shot clip
1 32 special - Lever Action (I can empty this almost as quick as if I were using a semi), Holds 4 rounds in the magazine, Hunting
1 30.06 semi - Inherited from my father when he passed away, Clip holds 5 rounds, Hunting

Shotguns: 1 16ga double barrel - Started hunting with this as a teen, 75 years old and retired
1 12ga Mossberg semi - Sometimes a hunting gun, 3 round magazine

Hmm, I don't see any Mac10's, AK's, AR's or tactical sniper rifles in that list. All I need is one, maybe two rounds to drop a deer.

As far as the killings that have happened on school properties, I don't remember any full auto's being used. Get your facts straight before posting nothing but bull****

Shelia is a Christian but I'm not. The only thing telling me there is a God is a book written by man and a bunch of old men living high off the hog in Rome.

RE: REMEMBER MEMORIAL DAY!

Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day because it was a time set aside to honor the nation's Civil War dead by decorating their graves. It was first widely observed on May 30, 1868, to commemorate the sacrifices of Civil War soldiers, by proclamation of General John A. Logan of the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of former sailors and soldiers. On May 5, 1868, Logan declared in General Order No. 11 that:

The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet churchyard in the land. In this observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit.

During the first celebration of Decoration Day, General James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery, after which 5,000 participants helped to decorate the graves of the more than 20,000 Union and Confederate soldiers buried in the cemetery.

This 1868 celebration was inspired by local observances of the day in several towns throughout America that had taken place in the three years since the Civil War. In fact, several Northern and Southern cities claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day, including Columbus, Miss.; Macon, Ga.; Richmond, Va.; Boalsburg, Pa.; and Carbondale, Ill.

In 1966, the federal government, under the direction of President Lyndon Johnson, declared Waterloo, N.Y., the official birthplace of Memorial Day. They chose Waterloo—which had first celebrated the day on May 5, 1866—because the town had made Memorial Day an annual, community-wide event during which businesses closed and residents decorated the graves of soldiers with flowers and flags.

By the late 1800s, many communities across the country had begun to celebrate Memorial Day and, after World War I, observances also began to honor those who had died in all of America's wars. In 1971, Congress declared Memorial Day a national holiday to be celebrated the last Monday in May. (Veterans Day, a day set aside to honor all veterans, living and dead, is celebrated each year on November 11.)

Today, Memorial Day is celebrated at Arlington National Cemetery with a ceremony in which a small American flag is placed on each grave. Also, it is customary for the president or vice-president to give a speech honoring the contributions of the dead and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. About 5,000 people attend the ceremony annually.
Several Southern states continue to set aside a special day for honoring the Confederate dead, which is usually called Confederate Memorial Day.

RE: How far would you go to protect yourself?

I own a couple of shotguns but prefer the handgun because I don't want to be cleaning or repairing the walls as double ought buckshot can make a messgrin

RE: WHY MAJORITY AFTER MEET CHANGE OPENION OF OTHER PERSON?

It's like this, if you don't live up to what you claim to be in your profile or look differently than the pictures that are posted, then you can kiss any relationship goodbye real quick

RE: How far would you go to protect yourself?

If they're in my house with the intent to steal or whatever, they are "in season" or "fair game"

RE: How far would you go to protect yourself?

Well, if I were to call the police instead, my wife and I may be dead before they arrive. The crime rate here is quite high

RE: How far would you go to protect yourself?

I wouldn't even think twice about it.

In a drawer next to the bed is a 357 loaded with 158gr NiClad hollowpoints. NiClad is the same as the teflon coated cop killer bullets but uses a nylon coating. I will do whatever it takes to protect myself and family.

I am quite capable of hitting what I'm aiming at

Earl

RE: How far would you go to protect yourself?

The same can happen here in the US.

Like they say, "Dead men tell no tales". There is one aspect to this, if you kill someone who is in your home illegally, there is the possibility of being hit with a civil suit by the persons family.
They say that a civil suit can usually be worse than going thru the experience of killing someone, even if it is in self-defense

Oh yeah, being a gun owner, with a NH pistol permit, I'll go with self defense anyday

RE: What is a High Maintenance Woman?

I wasn't jumping to any conclusions. My observation was based on what was said in the profile. grin

RE: What is a High Maintenance Woman?

I see a post several pages back and had to check her profile. Let's just say that what she posted in this thread did not match with the way she described herself. If there were to be a picture in the dictionary for a high maintenance woman, hers would be there.

I won't say who
