Knowing what I do now, it would be 19. I was at the Elizabeth City Coast Guard Air Station for Aviation Machinist Mate School here in NC, Shelia's home state.
What a lot of people don't realize is that some things that are going on now is the result of 2 or 3 presidents back with what a present president has done

I would love to see a hands free law. I've lost count of how many times I've come close to being hit by someone with a cellphone in their hands while driving
Long time since I've posted to one of your forums, not on the computer too much nowdays.
1st, Congratulations on finding Love, You're very Special and I'm sure he had to have been one "Heck of a Guy to woo you out of your own country"
2nd, And Nope, I could not happily live that far from my grown children. Our first grandbaby girl is expected in June 2009.
3rd, As a Mom, I ache for your heart when you heard from your Son and wasn't able to be there for him during that very difficult time.
4th, You're right, in the middle of the "Love Feelings" I don't think we can or do think everything thing as thoroughly as we do later on. No sure if in the middle of all the hormones if it's even possible
Earl moved down to NC when we wed, and when it was looking like we were going to possibly be moving to NH, the agreement was that money would have to allotted on a regular basis for me to travel to see my grown kids often because we are very very close. Earl and his boys have a different relationship which seems to work for them. I'm not the person who decides that. They contact each other as they will & I try not to interfere.
Morgan I could not move to another country away from my grown children and be totally happy, but I hope for you and your gentleman it works out. Perhaps it can be arranged with some frequency you are able to be joined with your children, for I believe the souls of parents and children are always connected.
As a Mom, I'll keep you in my prayers and maybe someday it will be just a feasible for him to move to your country, so you can "Have Your Cake and Eat it Too"
I went into the US Coast Guard two months after graduating high school. Was a mechanic on HH52A helicopters and was also an aircrewman/emt on the same. Served 8/78-8/82
The problem with allowing an immigrant to buy guns, they have to go thru a background check and that is difficult when it comes to getting info from some countries
Gun control doesn't work. What has to be done is to put into place stiffer penalties for the use of a gun in a crime.
In the cases of the killings at Virginia Tech and in Binghamton NY, the first is known to have had mental health problems. Second, both were immigrants and should not have been allowed to buy any type of gun
In the southern states of the USA, the use of "hon" or even "sweetie" is quite common. The first time I went into a store here in NC shortly after moving from NH, the girl used "sweetie" when she handed me my change. Took some getting used to considering I'm a yankee
The cigarette companies are not doing this because they want to. Certain states are making this a requirement. I found this to be true in NH while it's not done for NC To tell if you are buying fire safe cigarettes, look at the barcode on the pack. Nearby you will see the letters FSC
RE: Im in the US Navy as of thursday.
From a puddle jumper (USCG) to a prospective squid, enjoy your time in service for your country.I have an uncle who says there are only two things in the water, submarines and targets. He used to be a submariner
I salute you
Earl
