RE: When a woman cares about a man

I'm guessing that I may well be the only contributor here who has a professionally framed poster of Feargal Sharkey on his wall?

RE: One word split in the middle

No, no, buddy, it's quite alright. Like I said, I am taking your word for it.

RE: Would This Make You Comfortable?

While I presume this is intended a joke, the reality is that, in today's modern world, cameras are indeed watching us everywhere.

Does it make me comfortable? Hell no.

RE: When a woman cares about a man

Crikey, Lee, you're a bit of a sentimental ol' softie on the side!

RE: One word split in the middle

I will take your word for it.

RE: take a chance.

What a great band Abba were.

RE: I've the same memory of elephant ..!

Q: Why did the elephant paint the bottom of his feet yellow?

A: So he could hide upside down in the custard.

RE: If saying "Siri", "OK google", "Alexa"....

George Orwell was wrong about the year, but he was right about everything else in that book......

RE: Changing Colors

Someone tell Elizabeth Warren.....

RE: I refuse to eat that!

Tsk, tsk. A beginner's mistake.

Arsenic does NOT go with mushrooms. It goes with old lace.

RE: Outrageous In 2020

The Village People, Conrad?

RE: He did the peoples Brexit in

Exactly.

RE: One word split in the middle

What does that mean?

RE: Yay, The outdoor temperature just went above Zero degrees Farenheit here in Dublin, Ohio!

When are you folks going to adopt centigrade like the rest of the world?

RE: He did the peoples Brexit in

I suspect that it is "drivel" because deep down you know I am right. In your heart you know Brexit will never happen and that the will of the people is being betrayed by corrupt and dishonest politicians. You prefer not to think of that, and instead prefer to live in hope, and I can't say I blame you.

RE: Double Homicide

"Miscarriage" is not an American term. It is used in all English-speaking countries.

RE: Which Clint Eastwood movie do you like best?

I've only seen one Clint Eastwood movie, and I am pretty sure it was spelt Gran Torino., not "Grand" as in your poll.

It was quite good.

RE: Did You Know

I'd be very surprised if there are no canaries at all in the Canary Islands.

RE: He did the peoples Brexit in

After two and a half years, there is still no sign of Brexit, and it must be said that with every month that goes by, it looks less likely than it did the moth before.

RE: How children see love, very special................. especially the last one

Very cute, but how long (thanks to leftist indoctrination) before the answer is something like this:

"When I see my Uncle Jeremy tongue-kissing his boyfriend and groping each other's pants, I know they are really in love". - Abigail, aged 5.

RE: He did the peoples Brexit in

I told you Brexit wouldn't actually happen, as the politicians won't allow the will of the people to be respected on this.

You said it will happen.

This is of course subject to change, but I must say that so far, I am right and you are wrong.

RE: A real woman!

A woman has every right to be grossly obese.

Just as a man has every right not to date her.

RE: I refuse to eat that!

Bacon and eggs. The Full British (or Full American, depending where you go) breakfast.

Just the smell of it makes my stomach heave.

RE: In dating - Is it important to a man, what a woman does for a living?

I don't mind if a woman has a job. It does not deter me.

As long as she is willing to focus on being a housewife once she gets married.

RE: He did the peoples Brexit in

Nope.

RE: Bring back the Common wealth of Nations

Yes, the Commonwealth was a much better trading block for all concerned, than the EU has been.

Both, however, have been bad for Britain's inner cities.

RE: He did the peoples Brexit in

Theresa Quisling has so far been successful in her attempts to prevent Brexit.

RE: One word split in the middle

Are we not right back at the "compound word" thread??

RE: Al pacino best movies - vote for your favourite

A very good actor, with many worthwhile film credits.

I voted for Scent Of A Woman, but please note there is no definite article at the start of the title.

RE: What lives under the crust of the Earth?

The simple answer is that "they" have drilled down no more than 1% of the Earth's diameter. I know, because I looked this up a few months ago.

To all intents and purposes, what is beneath the Earth remains a total and complete mystery. We know far more about outer space than we do about our own planet.
