I speak out against socialism - in New Zealand, and in the USA and anywhere else.
For us in New Zealand, as in Canada, the UK, and many other countries, having government-funded healthcare seems normal, and no big deal, albeit not terribly efficient, perhaps. I do, however, take issue with how much money is wasted by our government on social welfare benefits - approximately a third of all tax money (and we have high taxes here) goes to support solo mothers who can't be bothered finding a husband, or lazy people who can't be bothered getting a job.
No, sick is killing children without their consent, which your government does.
In this case you mention, I'd say your government are right. I certainly don't want neighbour's kids climbing over my fence to retrieve balls they shouldn't have kicked over in the first place.
I shudder again at the way some people think. This is very very sad.
If Granny gets Alzheimers, let's just get her out of the way too, shall we? Since, under Dutch law, infants need not consent to being "terminated" (see the information from the Dutch government's own website that I posted on the other thread - and yes, they actually use the word "terminated") then why should Granny have to consent?
Killing people off when they get sick is just so much easier and better all round, right?
Agreed, it is always sensible to have insurance. Not just for travel, but for your house, your car, your contents.
That said, travel insurance should, in my view, involve weighing up the likely risks involved. I'd always get it now. The one time I went overseas without travel insurance, I contracted cholera. Needless to say, all the times I have purchased travel insurance, I haven't even contracted the a cold.
I'm just not a fan of governments treating adults like children and telling them they must do this, they must do that. People, in my view, have to take some responsibility for themselves.
A lot of websites nowadays don't allow uploading of our own photos. Reason being that this means the photo is stored on their website and eats up their bandwidth.
So we have to find images on the internet that are appropriate, and insert the URL as a link. This way, the photo appears but is not hosted at this site.
You can find images on Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other search engines.Just search for what you want. You then need to right-click on the image and select "open in new tab". That way you get the URL of the actual image in your URL line, not the URL of the webpage you found it on. You then click "cop" and then paste that into the box that opens when you click "IMG" on this page.
The cute little teddy emojis don't display in the quote, but I'd suggest you find some children to give them to. Maybe in honour of the small lives cut short but those who sincerely believe that sick children should be "terminated" as this is the "best option" (quotes from the Dutch government's website).
When a man threatens a woman with violence, he is an evil person. When a woman threatens a man with violence, we are supposed to see it as funny? This double standard needs to go, if feminism is to be taken seriously.
You can not post pics off your own computer; only links to images on the internet. This is done by clicking "IMG" at the bottom of the window and inserting the URL.
A shelter dog. If for no reason other than that I am tight with money, and wouldn't be prepared to spend money on a pedigree dog when I could get a dog for free.
I did not know that you do, in Canada. But why am I not surprised? You can take the kids to the "pot shop" in between the post office and the deli, but you can't smoke tobacco in front of them.
And for what it's worth, I don't like threats of violence, even made in jest. This is not cool, and is certainly not something I would ever say. I guess we can see who is the more negative person.
In your initial comments about me, there were some grains of truth. I freely admit I am a very opinionated individual. And I know this occasionally rubs some people up the wrong way.
But frankly, your response to me was more extreme and aggressive than anything I have said in any of my posts. Accusing me of "hate-filled propaganda" because I dared to cut and paste an article from the Dutch government's own website confirming that they do indeed kill infants without the child's consent, seems a tad over the top. If you honestly believe that being concerned about non-voluntary "euthanasia" constitutes "hate" then you have a very warped worldview.
And no, I certainly do not claim to speak for New Zealanders. And nor can you! We are both individuals with our own opinions. And that is as it should be.
This is what I call the "Here and Now Worldview". The view that, at any given time in history, we have got everything exactly right, and at every time preceding the present moment, we got everything wrong.
