Haven't watched it (nor indeed any series of Doctor Who - sci-fi is not my bag, baby), but I gather it is turgidly PC? Yet another example of the mass media trying to brainwash young people.
I would hope that Western nations will soon withdraw all troops from Afghanistan, where they have no business to be.
It took a special kind of stupid (i.e. the neo-cons) to get the USA and other Western nations involved in Afghanistan in the first place, when we had already witnessed the horrendous difficulties the Soviets had there.
What difference does it make if the last reply was 4 years ago or 4 minutes ago? A thread is a thread. If it is interesting to you, post a reply. If it is interesting to others, they will respond. If it's not, they won't.
Indeed. Smoking anything is harmful to health. Tobacco, cannabis, and anything else.
As an aside, the idea that tobacco is more harmful than cannabis is a bit of a myth. Tobacco itself is actually less harmful than cannabis; the two problems with tobacco-smoking are, firstly, the tar, which is generally not put with cannabis cigarettes, and secondly the fact that those who smoke tobacco generally smoke far higher quantities of the stuff than those who smoke cannabis. Many people smoke a packet or two of tobacco cigarettes per day. I challenge anyone to smoke 20 or 40 cannabis cigarettes a day, and remain a functional human being.
As we have discovered on another thread, you are not actually a New Zealander, Hexagon; although you may well be living here now, you are clearly from overseas originally, yes?
Personally, I don't want to take "ownership" of an ISIS fighter - terms like "our very own Kiwi ISIS" don't reflect the way I feel, for one. This idiot is fighting his own battle, and certainly not on my behalf.
If he is a New Zealand citizen, we should most assuredly have him back. And if he has committed any crime in New Zealand, he should be prosecuted here. If he has engaged in violence in Syria, then that is for the Syrian government to sort out and punish him.
I don't know much about this, as haven't been following this story. Hadn't heard any claim that his citizenship had been revoked, and if that is true, it is not cool (no matter what odious things one has done, random revoking of peoples' citizenships sets a dangerous precedent).
RE: America’s Second Vietnam... what are we fighting for today in Afghanistan?
Opium, the religion of the people?
