RE: Buying a car ?

I've made it really comfy...plus there is lots of fresh air, very little traffic....oh, and good home made vino from neighbours.laugh

RE: Lookin for Mr Lookin

Scammers? Too good to be true? You must be kidding, not the god fearing, yahoo tooting scammers that come my way!doh

Oh, and if you think there are no scammers who give Australia as their location, think again.

RE: Lookin for Mr Lookin

I often look at profiles in relation to people who post to me and vice versa. I find it always in one way or another, interesting.

Other than that, I never trudge through profiles. It leaves me cold.

RE: Buying a car ?

No, I wasn't saying it would suit jimbob. I have no real idea of what the dear man is like. I was just fishing out r/e that is still affordable for anyone wishing to live on the moon....

I'm afraid it wouldn't suit me, either, Martia. I hate that much cold.uh oh .... In any case, I already have my really nice writer's retreatsmitten , with temps much like Adelaide. I will soon be there again and doing lots of writing.

RE: Lookin for Mr Lookin

Most of us take a break now and then...though it is a bit odd just before the Melbourne meet, don't you think?confused...somthing may have triggered his disappearance, but he's a big boy.

My only bother is that I don't have anyone to pick on now.mumbling

Hi Lookin, if yer lurkin'.wave

RE: Lookin for Mr Lookin

p.s....no other singles site, though I had been put onto a couple of others by friends. No forums so I didn't last long. I stumbled upon CS while surfing in mid '08 and stayed on once I discovered the forums. I have left and returned a few times.

RE: Buying a car ?

RE: Buying a car ?

Well, Martia...it looks like there's no reason why just about anyone can't have a roof over their head and not be paying rent. here's a one-bedder, brand new apartment in the heart of Adelaide for $169,000!!

Soon, I will start to actively look for my son's second property. I find 'em and he pays for it. Love spending other people's moneygrin

RE: Buying a car ?

bad link above...

p.s. I'm not advocating buying a semi-detached dwelling, but to show that homes are around locally, in that price range.

RE: Buying a car ?

I did say look for a well maintained one. Where in my post did you read it needs to be from a car yard? And besides, you don't need to rush these things. Look carefully. Even I know what to look for.

RE: Buying a car ?

you could buy a property and rent it out...At that price in a good location, it should only appreciate. Start looking on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au

RE: Buying a car ?

lots of good cars under $6,000. Start looking. There is a gem there somewhere, low kms, well maintained. You don't need a fancy car#, just well kept and reliable... Who are you out to impress???

RE: Buying a car ?

RE: Buying a car ?

And that is supposed to make it better? ...the fact that you won't be taking put a loan, instead, squandering almost one third of the proceeds of the property settlement on a car. Oh, well. It's your money.

RE: Lookin for Mr Lookin

And somewhere in that mix is Mr Prowler..laugh ....ermmm, how many of these sites are you on??uh oh

RE: How would you describe your neighbours?

Why the question mark, Blizzard?...you don't know?confused

RE: Serene's Randoms

You will need to be a bit more romantic towards a certain Miss BJ, than calling her 'pieface'(above) and telling her you think she is a great lurker.doh

RE: Depression' The Reasons.

What's your excuse?

As for valium, please go find out what action valium has on the brain.

....some very interesting misinformed commentary on this thread.

RE: Serene's Randoms

I wondered which of your pals was responsible. She did a fab job, Merriweather. Now you just have to go make yourself famous...the billboards are ready!!laugh

RE: Depression' The Reasons.

Laughter really is the antidote to depression. It produces endorphins, the 'feel good; hormones...your very own antidepressants.

The other thing laughter does, or taking in nature up close and personal, is that you get 'out of your head' and focus on what is happening here and now...in the moment. There actually exist 'laughing groups'. People pay to be shown how to laugh!!

Words are extremely powerful. When we 'talk' to ourselves in our head, the brain listens actively, so we need to be vigilant in the words we use. They can really make or break us at crucial times.

Talking about it with someone, professional or otherwise, can help too, as talking does change brain chemistry when it is done constructively. So do certain sound waves, such as using brain wave entrainment, and the sound of birds at particular modulation.

RE: IF I WAS A CAR.

Sounds like the perfect car...Unashamedly stylish, loads of practicality and the reliability of a Swiss watch.

RE: IF I WAS A CAR.

If my body were a car, I would make sure I am serviced regularly and only by the best.batting.... Someone I can trust and who comes with recommendations as a genuine down to earth mechanic, without the airs and graces of pretentious car dealerships. The latter promise you the world but their real intent is to turn you into a wreck, then go fleece the next victim!

RE: Can you remember your first thread or post on CS?

Hi Dj, I stumbled upon CS around mid '09, while looking for something totally different. It took me one month before I realised there were forums :laugh.....I have no idea what my first post/thread was, I would need to go look. My introduction to CS was receiving a flower from a lovely Irishman who later that year as I was in Italy, kindly hosted me at his home in Dublin...sunshine all but one day! cool

RE: Would you date this man?

The upside is that he did tell you. he must think no-one your age would show interest in him had he written his true age. Some insecurity there maybe. Ask him if there is anything else you should know, to tell you now.(10 wives, 30 children...laugh ).
