Odd, isn't it? I can watch starving children, and be completely moved by what I see. Show me a scene with animal cruelty and I go to pieces and can't watch. But it's nothing to do with pretending it's not happening. It's because I know that such atrocities happen to defenceless creatures, that I feel sick watching it. At least starving children generally have loving adults with them, and a film crew helping to bring further aid to the region.
Now that's a perfect reason for a long, healthy life ...I think the case of Shapelle Corby(guilty or otherwise) has made me feel a bit antsy about visiting Indonesia and Thailand. Gorgeous countries though.
I have never had a date do anything embarrassing, not that I recall...but I sure as heck did to one of my date. Many years ago, I once proudly wore this brand new dress I had brought back from Italy. It was on the dance floor that I noticed the price tag dangling from the hem! Not much else to do but keep dancing.
Hi gabrielle, no I wasn't generalising as such - basing it on my experiences as I am well travelled, as well as speaking with others...I agree with you, many French people do speak English. Whether they choose to speak it at any point in time, is a different issue.
Actually, that's what prompted me to buy the Tim Tams...not rubbish though ...I realised I had nothing to offer anyone visiting, to ahve with a coffee...that's my excuse for buying, and I'm sticking to it.
Just had a healthy dinner of salmon cutlet and avocado/salad, with stewed apple to follow...I think that qualifies me for a dark chocolate Tim Tam afterwards
though Amber, our deceased red heeler, scoffed a whole block of Lindt choccolate one evening and lived to wag her tail. She was most devious, having removed the chocolate ever so neatly from the packaging which she left intact in my bag. The subtle giveaway was a ball of scrunched up silver foil nearby.
Hi Martia, This show is across the globe. Australia started theirs and thank goodness they did. Look at the fabulous talent coming out of the woodwork!
...Remember Susan Boyle, singer from 'UK has got Talent'?
-you will need a rough start/finish date. Then you can work towards that. -next, have an idea of how many guys you want on the adventure? - will you flip a coin to decide where you head off, or will you simply make a decision? - what sort of budget? Do you intend to get work visas? - kind of accommodation: pensiones or youth hostels, caravan parks, 2-3star hotels, other?
Just kickin' around some ideas for you. Keep up the momentum...
Oh, Lordy, do we ever have talent in this country!!
I am watching 'Australia's Got Talent', and the opera singer, David, just brought me to tears...as he did Brian, one of the panelists. Lots more to come...it's just so beautiful to watch these people.
And how was that young man, 'Chook'???!!!...the sheep shearing country boy
RE: what is the country you would not Visit?

Hope all is well with you.
