I'm sure she would love to partake, though ... Rotten sod gave me hell on recent trips. For some reasons she would go crazy barking at all the semi's and trucks. Cars were fine, but boy, 200kms worth of loud border barking, nearly burst my left ear drum!
It's so nice being able to use my car again in this weather The 'dash tech' guy who put in the new heater cooler on Friday, offered to 'bleed' the radiator at his home today, as it's the only time off he has. My brother will take me there as we need to leave the car for a few hours. He won't charge(he like that I'd paid cash for the work done on Friday)and I provide coolant.
German cars are just not made for our conditions...might sell it and buy a Holden!!
Hi Merriweather, yes, we've certainly had a few drops to dodge today, but as you know I have my car back on the road, so it's much easier to travel around...fingers crossed!...
But boy, talk about adventures...what is it with me and mechanics?.....tomorrow I have to take it to his home and he will drain it at no extra cost, with me providing the coolant. A decent sort for a change.
...That was a very funny interview with a very young Letterman!lol - I really enjoyed the repartie between all three men...they certainly seemed to have a lot of fun. I've never seen/heard that humorous side of Johnny Cash before. It was great -thanks for posting it.
I got a quote from a painter today, to paint woodwork which is varnished and looks outdated and worn. It includes 6 doors, all the framework, plus a counter, a few window ledges...it will cost me around $3-4,000. Blow that!!!...
So I went off and bought myself an electric hand sander and my father will show me how to use it in the morning after I buy more sanding sheets. Then I can apply darker varnish, and paint the corridor plus a feature wall. Then replace the vinyl skirting with wooden. My plan is to have it all finished by next weekend.... I can use the money I save to change the carpets and for my trip o/s...
'Phone line only should cost you no more than $29.95 per mth, tony...so if you do pay out the internet component, don't let them dupe you!!! Ask to speak the manager, or better still they now have a separate 1800 number for coplaints. If you get ne joy there, call the telecomunications ombudsman. I've had a bit to do with Telstra...can you tell??? ... They once screwed up so badly with my business phone/internet, that they volunteered rebating me $1,000!!!
Always shop around. Telstra doesn't give a rats about being competitive, because it has enough market share for their needs, and emphasis is on looking after their shareholders. I do use Telstra for my mobile 'phone and wireless dongle as I need it for my regional work, where they are the only provider.
As for the answer to your question...YES...Hope that you're not locked in with a contract. If you don't have long to go, it would be worth paying it out. At least you have meaningful broadband use.
I don't think you have read much about psychics. They are not in control of what comes to them in the form of visions, intuition, and so on. These things simply come to them. Of-course, they are obviously in an 'open' psychic state themselves, unlike most other people.
I never tire of watching that clip. Thanks for posting it, johnaustin. A lovely reminder that such things are indeed possible. If we drop our guard for one fleeting moment...
HI Conrad, I don't know about your Randy friend ...I can only refer you again, to the published scientific experiments by the University of Arizona. They would have used strict methodology and would not risk their professional integrity. Having results published in peer review journals is no mean feat. In any case, skeptics are labelled that for a reason. They never really intend to seriously consider any position other than their own, no matter what evidence might be brought to bear. Sceptics do not phase me, because I prefer to remain completely open to discovery. Closed mindedness isn't very appealing to me.
I've seen a couple of clients, and the mechanic is still here putting everything together...working in the dark, except for his torchlight. I've made him filter coffee and ordered him pizza! ...
Obviously, it is a given that the two would meet in person, get on well; chemistry; yadda, yadda...Yes, I would move. I'm used to travel and being away from home, so no biggie. Besides, I'm not tied to my possessions, except for books and music. I have plenty of clothes...and no shortage of shoes And depending on the location, I would return to see family and friends periodically.
p.s. No way would I contemplate living in polar bear country, though.
Good news...he's got 2 other jobs after me(??!!), so he's working like the clappers to get the job done, which means cheap labor costs(the specialist mechanics quoted me about 10hrs labour - obviously inflated!!)...
poor guy, apparently he lost his licence...way too long a story, but he seems really genuine...and capable...and I can actually see the new heater cooler with my own eyes!!
I've been waiting a couple of months to get the right mechanic to fix my car, seems to be a heater cooler plus whatever else that the previous mechanics missed/screwed up...
He was supposed to be here early this morning, then job delays so by 12nonn...then in 20min...I finally rang him again at 2.00pm and he said he's had transport problems and he's in a cab, 5mins away(!!!)...he's supposed to pull the dash apart which takes a large chunk of the day, and it will get dark in about 3.5hrs!!!
