It's been 14 days since I last lit up. Today I discovered a great help in the quitting process.
You have to try this; Nicorette Inhaler. It's a plastic cigarette with a nicotine cartridge. It tastes like a cig., but all you get is a vapour of nicotine which dissolves in your throat without entering your lungs. It satisfies that "hand to mouth habit", as well as supplying nicotine. Much better than the Patch.....trust me.
Fri., night was my big test, I went out to a bar with my daughter and a friend. My friend went outside several times for a cig., and I felt just fine. No temptation at all. Not to say that I'd love one right now.....I'm half way through chewing on a pencil and attempting to fantasise making love to all you beautiful women. At this moment, it seems to be working.
The down side; when my fantasy is over, I can't light up. I hope it was good for you too.
This morning I chased cars, snapping at their tires. This evening I emptied 7-11's junk food shelves. Watched two movies while drinking; apple juice, green tea, water, 2 glasses of Redoxon (water soluble vitamin C ) 2 shots of Scotch, 4 glasses of wine while nibbling on the corner of my computer desk------ nothing worse than a Pine splinter in your tongue.
Tomorrow, I may go Postal or chew the bark of the Maple tree in my front yard.
I believe that the whole world is excited, for this is truly history in the making. When I was 18, blacks in many parts of the US could not use public washrooms nor restaurants.....and tomorrow, an Afro-American will become President. Not only that, but his middle name is Hussein. What a testament to the will of the American people to change and grow.
Every now and then there happens, a collective consciousness which moves the world forward despite our biases and "cast in stone", beliefs.
Although he will be inheriting a world in turmoil as never seen before, I ask that this world stand with him, for he is a brilliant man. Canada and the US., shares a common heritage, yet our countries are so different in philosophy and our interpretation of "The common good for human-kind". I believe that President Elect Obama will bring us closer together as neighbours. And as well, make former enemies throughout the world, closer to being friends.
My ex., left me 11 years ago. I got over her about 6 years ago, yet every other month I dream about her. I would guess it's natural. We spent 20 years together and in that time I'm sure that my brain became re-wired in a permanent way which only exposes itself now, in dreams.
Nadia Oryema is a 21-year-old university student from Toronto, Ontario who will be attending Barack Obama's inauguration in Washington, D.C. by invitation letter, said she was personally selected based on the leadership skills she demonstrated at a global conference.
She believes that she may be related to Obama since her parents or grandparents are from the same tribe (Kenya) as Obama's father.
RE: I'm new to CS..
If I may be so bold....you are beautiful.
