welcome to the 21st century

The other day I took a short trip into town to buy some things....some of those things were not things I would typically buy on a daily or weekly basis....such as clothes and a hunting rifle.

The whole of this story really does not mean much, if a person made a ton of stops. But, I only made a limited amount of stops and the frequency of interesting events is what makes the overall experience, interesting.

I made a total of 5 stops.

2 stops went fine....even though one of the two stops didn't have a whole lot of clothes that I liked...but that is okay, I am somewhat fussy.

But the other 3 stops were interesting....making it from a mathematical stand point, 60% of my stops were unique to what I had expected.

The first of those three was at a sporting goods store. I decided I wanted to buy a new hunting rifle that day. Honestly, I had expected not to find any guns whatsoever...but, I found the opposite. Well, I guess technically my expectations were met because there were no hunting rifles....however, what surprised me is that their gun cabinets were loaded with assault style weapons. I thought to myself, if somebody wanted to prepare for WWIII, here they go. The store was loaded with those. hmmm Odd I thought, why is it they are trying to remove those style guns from the public....but yet you could buy a truck load of them if you wanted....and the hunting rifles that are deemed okay, by many, not available. confused

The next unusual thing that I encountered was at Walmart. I think I had three items, so I went through the self checkout. I am trying to stick my $100 bill into their machine but it would not take it. I tried a couple more times until the store clerk came up and said that it does not accept cash. confused Huh?laugh Is not cash king?

On my way out of town, we decided to bypass the Chinese restaurant and get some fast food. The place was Hardees. They have great chicken sandwiches there. Well, I should say.....they used to. I ordered my hand breaded chicken sandwich and I found it very difficult to find the chicken within it. I am not exaggerating here....the chicken in the bun was about 1/3rd the size of the bun. It is a good thing that bread is filling....otherwise I would have went hungry after eating. laugh

So there you have it....my 21st century trip into town.

happy weekend all

Hey Johnny wave
You brought me to 21st century road trip I guess help droppingby Hardee's cheers enjoy wine
Hi Johnny. Thanks for a real blog in the right sense of the word.
We need more of those.

If it was Norway there would be no gun stores, but if you're looking
for a hunting rifle you can find one in a designated department of
an ordinary sport equipment shop.
Assault rifles are not for sale here, and a pistol store I never seen either.

About cash, there must be one in the register to use it
but 98.7% of all purchases are done with what you guys call plastic.

About the sandwich, 1/3 chicken make up the sandwich?
That here would be considered plenty.
1/10th here, the rest would be loaf, salad, majo etc.

Quoted "The whole of this story really does not mean much, if a person made a ton of stops. But, I only made a limited amount of stops and the frequency of interesting events is what makes the overall experience, interesting."

And this concept also applies to different ares of life as a journey. Some hard paths will lead to the best destinations eventually, literally and figuratively. Just have faith and follow on
teddybear cheers
Hello Ysa,

That makes sense about some hard paths to take leading to some of the best destinations. thumbs up

Have you taken any hard paths?

I am trying to think if I had.....I can think of one that if taken....may lead to a great destination. Now it is the time to assess what makes it so hard...and why it has not been taken yet. confused laugh

Johnny, You never struck me as the fussy type.confused
I just heard on world news tonight that China is getting ready to nuke us. Buy extra ammo.cool
I have a business management degree....and it does not even take that.

When a business is producing something...

and that something is selling off of the shelves....

typically, that business will ramp up production to meet demand.

I don't know.....but something does not seem to add up to me here.

dunno
Hey Johnny
At a young age or maybe qualified age that time when I had my first travel overseas well that didn't stop me from traveling places to another country. In every stop over I had great experience, good people, nice places with their cultures which made me realized wow it's not just 21st century indeedwine
And that journey continues where I'll be someday somehow cheers teddybear
Yeah the girlie magazines are definitely the most important.thumbs up
Did you know that 80% of the beer companies are not owned by American companies?

What is the significance of that you may wonder?

Well, what countries own these beer companies? I really do not know the answer to that question...but...

Is it fair to say that other companies may not be owned by American companies....and there is a deliberate shortage for some agenda to be reached? dunno

I don't know that either...but maybe food for thought.
Humanity won't progress as a species, while:

1) We continue to fight each other

2) The population remains out of control

3) There is no universally concerted, Global Effort, to combat Environmental Degradation, and Climate Change

4) The treatment of animals (overall) remains subpar
Did you know that corporate America is gaining more political power? What if these corporations are not American owned....then who is really gaining more political power?

dunno

Don't know that either.
laugh Robert....yes....girlie magazines are #1 on the list over food even. laugh Remember, no internet means no internet ladies. shimmy laugh
Big Tech Rules............

Maybe they should rule more responsibly...............dunno
Ysa....that is an area I need to explore more myself....traveling. Have you had any scary moments while flying? That is probably my biggest hurdle to jump right now.
No issues flying, try a Dreamliner for an especially smooth flight................professor
Hello Love,

True to all you say.

You know, I just read an article about 10 minutes ago where bigger political figures are admitting that they UFOs that have been caught on camera appear to be technology that nobody has on this planet...and they say it might be another life form.

If true....

That might be...and in my opinion....should be....something for us as a human species on this planet to pull together for. So far, there has been nothing bigger than ourselves to be concerned about.....other than ourselves and our own petty greeds. If there is something out there and more powerful than us....that is something we as a human species should genuinely be concerned about...instead of who has more oil and who is benefiting more.....blah, blah, blah...

Thank you Love for sharing your flying experience. thumbs up
As far as I can remember the first flight I had was scary especially when the plane detached from runaway. I hold my breath for a sec then that was it until I get used to it.

Aerophobia. Fear of getting on a plane can be a heritage from childhood or it can emerge from adulthood as a result of various triggering factors.... Try you'll never know
you’ll overcome that fear cheers
laugh Loh....okay Loh, you are Robert to me in my mind. laugh
That's an interesting concept Love. I agree about the trees. But is that really something that will get their names in the history books?
Thank you Ysa for that. My dad always reminds me that he likes his feet on ground....that also means avoiding getting on a boat. laugh Probably where I get it from. :)

But, I do have a desire to go and see new places...so I think in time, my desire will overcome my fear. I understand better, thanks to you. thumbs up
I think it would get them into the history books, for all the right reasons, namely: There will (hopefully) still be people to write down that history!
That's good to hear Johnny thumbs up
your positive response made it possible to get through ithandshake
See you next flight thenlaugh
Perhaps Love.
Perhaps Ysa. laugh
I sound like one of those fortune teller machines. laugh
I must say Christmas Island sounds lovely. :)
Johnny, I'd take that as a serious invitation to the Christmas islands.cool Don't mess this one up like you did with that pool playing Korean chick.beer
Loh, I was thinking about asking if I could stay with her if I ever made it there. grin
(Ok, that was last century...........but you get my point!).............professor
You remember the Korean pool lady. laugh I forgot. laugh
Love,

I must admit, I am a hunter....but...to this day, I have not killed one yet. laugh dunno
Well you better hurry up before I do!
Book your ticket now while seats are availablelaugh
Anyoneconfused dunno

Thank you Ysa....I will remember that. :)
