Feminism today.

It has been awhile since I last talked about feminism and its dangers to society.

I am curious, what do people on here think about feminism today?

...good
...bad
...indifferent

I think it was good. It woke men up to woman's nature.
It gave women everything they felt they needed.

It is depopulating the world.

...all issues that needed to be addressed.
I would say it played a role in raising the prices of houses.

Instead of a man and a woman living in one house...

now they need 2 houses.

Good for some / Bad for others
It is said that women are now making more money than men. thumbs up
I am retired...laugh...no money...but I can work at a fun job!

Aez...you are not boring. I never knew that about Lumber Jills. When I was a teenager I worked in the woods, cutting down trees with a chainsaw and stacking the logs by hand. Of course, during the wars, they even had cruder technology for that sort of work. That is hard work...and amazing to hear the ladies were out there. But you are right, during the wars, the ladies did step up. thumbs up

...again, you are not boring.

I hope you found a new job. I think the last I heard from you, you were being let go from your one job...I think it was at the hospital. If I remember, they let you go over some BS.
Women continue to be paid less for equal work, and while they graduate more and fail less they remain under-represented in the STEM careers. in IT the 'balance' is still 80-20 male-female so we are stiil recruiting inferior male workforce. Similar numbers apply to CEO's Boards, Politics I suggest. The professional salary of women still lags that of men by about 20% and the accumulation of retirement savings is even further in arrears
Wow Far...that is some news there.

I would suggest, if your information is correct, that these ladies in that field bring together a class-action lawsuit. As far as I know, it is against the law to discriminate.

Reply to johnny!
Nothing wrong with an older guy Aez...they are more experienced in the bedroom.

I'm wild and dangerous! heart wings

you have nice blogs too Aez....I have learned about some new music through some of your blogs. thumbs up
Aww that's very nice of you... I get carried away with posting music videos sometimes and the blogs get deleted or I delete stuff as it's served a purpose - like letting off steam really... It's almost like these sites have become like an online therapy centre for some!

What music do you like anyway?
I listen to all sorts of music...

back in the day when I smoked weed, I was a huge Pink Floyd fan....and actually, I still am. David Gilmour is the best guitarist...in my book.

I like weird music though...stuff I don't even know what the lyrics are saying (foreign language)....some Mantras too. I kind of shifted on my taste of music through the years, but Pink Floyd has always been there.

It is a lot about the vibration of the music....over the words/message of the music for me.
Fargo, it is a sign of good health. laugh
Take care....

Thanks for everything.
I think feminism is good. Independence is good.
Shut it Ghost Face! laugh

As a rule of thumb you empower women when you seek to double down on convention and become more religious. Wokery is the western religion and that's just political correctness done with greater fanaticism. It's conservative in the sense of conservation, it's the establishment establishing itself more. Everything that was now stands double.

You empower women is the key term. You decided that, you gave it to them, they didn't overthrow anybody. Never did and never will.
@ches nothing you subsequently said/wrote resembles common sense. Stop speaking in tongues, and speak relevant sense instead.
Hi Johnny.

We're better off without.
China can get away with it because everything they've done apart from the lockdown holds promise to the young.

The problem in the west is that there was much intergenerational resentment to begin with. It's just people who are going to die soon and a culture that reflects a belief that you're not going to need anything in ten years. There's only ten years left anyway
From a woman's point of view I can assure you he makes a lot of sense.
Just try reading his posts following the order and slowly, in case you have difficulties with longer sentences.

Besides... why can not anybody write up and down what they want one here.
I don't care if people are on pcb.... lol.
There is enough bytes free here.

The man is harmless!

Cheers cupss! cheers hug
Agreed, cc has a broad base of knowledge and can express himself well without trying to imitate a third rate Shakespearean stage actor.
Hey Johnny,

How have you been?

Feminism, I don't know what that is, I think it means nothing.
Life is a constant change, we have to learn to adapt and keep going.
CC..you bring up an interesting point about "strong" women these days...not being strong.

It is interesting, because it makes you, or shall I say, myself wonder...what exactly is "strong" in their eyes.

I think I can see what you are alluding to....with modern day technology, it is fairly easy street to feel you are strong because you are able to survive on your own. But what happens if there is a breakdown in this technology....or...what happens if the world turns crazy. Then how strong is somebody?

hmmm

wave
Tens....I agree with you. C.C. does make some very valid points.

I am not sure he is proud of making these points and people agreeing with him about them. But, valid points must be identified and mentioned, no matter how grim them sound.

People speak of woke culture. I think feminism is waking up many today....and C.C. is helping to make that understood.

wave
Hello Ms Heart,

I am doing fine, thank you for asking. How have you been?

Yes, life does change and one needs to identify the change....and then, change with it.

However, when the change of life...offers people limited opportunities to change with this change of life, the change of life may overtake the people....who have no opportunity to change.

In other words:

Women either have changed or are changing.

Men have pretty much been forced to stay in a traditional role. ...but they are executing what very little change option they have available.

So as the world does change...there is one gender who is falling behind with this change.

The first wave of feminism took place in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, emerging out of an environment of urban industrialism and liberal, socialist politics. The goal of this wave was to open up opportunities for women, with a focus on suffrage.
I hope the days of knocking down (or in) open doors one day
finally will be over,
before we all lose too much in the quest for... (?)... what exactly?

This must be the days of unnecessary conflicts.
By the way, I just took a quick look into the socalled paygap,
here in my country.

According to official studies two thirds is due to different choises
men and women make about what jobs they go after.
The last part, one third is calculated to be different pay for same work.
Right.... so that looks pretty bad on paper.

Then... I had an eureka moment....
Here goes:
same work- done by man and women....
is not legal in Norway if they both work in the same sector.
That being good, means that a woman who feel discriminated and can show proof has a good case against their employer, so in practicality that will never happen.
So how come sometimes the same type of job pays differently?
Well... cos sometimes that job is done by a person with higher education and seniority, or it's
done in private sector opposed to public sector.

Capish?

So that one girl next to one boy doing the same job and afterwords is paid differently is a totally false presentation of what is going on.
Never happens, at least not in my country. It's illegal.

Conclution: all this paygap stuff is about statistics.
We all know that can be misleading.
Tell me more about these silver dollar tricks please, it sounds like fun?dunno laugh
Hello JJ,

Very true. It certainly has come a long way since then.

wave
Hello LCBR....is that a real thing?

It sounds pretty accurate to many scenarios today.

wave
Hello Suzie,

Thank you for the clarification. That still does not dismiss the fact that the ad did exist. laugh However, women did work then.

Honestly, I think if a woman wanted to work during those days...war or no war...they could have still worked.

The real problem with women not openly working as much as men during those days was called a family...a.k.a. marriage...a.k.a. being a mother. You do away with this major issues for women, they can now work as frequently as men do....as today displays.

I don't think feminism is directly responsible for more women working today. I think it is the fact that women no longer want to participate in traditional family structures that has done it.

Women could have always worked if they wanted to. ...and with them working today proves it.
