Technical Difficulties...

Last night CS went offline, probably an hour or so. Trying to reach the site returned a page explaining Technical Difficulties with a Contact Link.
I haven't seen any comments about it and curious if anyone used the link to fill out a trouble ticket. It was late night East coast USA time zone, so most of Europe was asleep.

This is a repeat of an offline issue a few days ago and may be the reason so many blogs, comments and forum threads are disappearing.

Technical Difficulties... sounds viable.

Awww snap!

I replied in your other thread Chat...

I don’t know if you were a member of Datehookup, but these are the kind of issues that began on that site...and, then eventually, the site was closed down...

Who knows...
gone, good morning...
I was unaware of the site Datehookup, never a member.

Regarding technical issues, it took a few weeks for them to sort out problems when MD changed servers. Most hosting sites have dozens of mainframe computers all linked together and the data stored can be dynamic and not all on one mainframe. If some data or programming code had a specific (physical) address and got moved to a different storage location, all the pointers were looking in the wrong place so the site had lots of error messages and turned up 'file not found' and programmers had to index the data to the new location.

Speculation is some of that could be happening here if one mainframe went offline and reverted to a backup while the system was reattaching the new location.
Just a guess...

Good morning...

I have no clue what MD is...

I do believe that Jim was on Datehookup...in the blogs.

They also, stopped allowing you tube videos to be posted...about a year before it closed down...

That kinda took why I was there away....

Some of the members on that site...had a vast knowledge of music...

I was introduced to so many new artists and music...
I guess your mother never taught you, if you don’t have something nice to say, then keep it to yourself...

I was working. Making drawings for an upcoming project.

The thought was if I blog about it "This would be the perfect blog for my stalker to whack me"

Looks like I'm right!
Inflation.

CS will start asking for money to sign on.

Let me take this time to say Good bye to all my CS friends. laugh laugh
Good bye Friendship...it has been lovely...laugh
I am not sure about going out of business as the ads keep this site going but perhaps I am wrong on this...maybe Chat could tell us about his experience on the other site...why it closed down...

It's been discussed many times. Matchdoctor (MD) was around for for decades. Many of the members here immigrated when the site closed.
In many ways it was the same as CS and in many ways it was different.
Blogs, forums, at one time they had a chat room with private messaging, friends lists, etc.

Members could leave comments on other members profile photos.

We have 'likes' you can add to blogs and comments, they had Kudos.

Why it closed has many versions.
There was no waiting period to blog or make forum comments. People who were bounced by the moderator often reappeared within minutes after being ejected. One guy was a terror creating havoc and couldn't be blocked. Scammers were coming faster than administration could delete.
It was a free site and paid (gold) membership opened some privileges for messages and a few other things standard membership didn't support.
Those things you mention is because of Match.com taking over DH..Dustin became a millionaire when he sold DH to Match.com..Match.com gave us tech & moderators from their site..I was mailing back & forth with one of those tech people for a while. When those tech people & moderators left us to our own demise at DH for that year that is why the site was a shemozzle..Match.com had no interest as far as forums were concerned they were hoping when DH closed that we would all join Match.com.

I closed my thread o0n the foums..Next day Packers was able to close it & now cold heaven has managed to close it again..Just a technical glitch that all sites have & CS has had glitches in the past.
Merc...

One member here is having difficulties...I am assuming it is because of a glitch...lots of odd stuff happening...

Some assume it is a personal gripe...but it is happening to many...

I would put it down to being addicted to trolling & drama cheers
True...lots of drama...and could be an infektion...

I clicked on the link to report it - the link was down too. lol

You have to remember Mullet too..She was on & off best friends with Heather..When Mullet had her usual fall out with Heather Mullet would post texts Heather sent her about other members & so on laugh
An STD can do that laugh
So it is not an immaculate infektion...laugh

Stalker?rolling on the floor laughing it's a public forum you doltdoh
A street is a public footpath, but following someone excessively and with a certain intent may be considered stalking behaviour.
I just closed it again!laugh
Jac, I post on average of 1 time per his 10 blogs, which is about once a week. He's the type of guy who will always be the victim. crying
You're counting his blogs, the number per day, or week, you're averaging and tracking. hmmm

Are you the type of guy that will always be the perpetrator...? giggle
Jac, it's really not hard to count my one comment a week on average. laugh I know you like to argue, because I've seen you argue for 4 days straight with others on here. Quite frankly I don't have four days. So you do your thing and I'll do minetongue
You have time to count alll of Chat's many blogs and you have time to monitor my propensity for lengthy debate, but you don't have time to have a wee chat about your stalking behaviour. hmmm

Is there a digging emoji...? laugh
Dustin deserted us. Problem was Match pushed us to join and pay to Match. When they found out we ignored them and others joined DH, they just shut DH down. Guess what..we STILL didn't pay Match and join.tongue
Bubby got a private FB account for us, but I never went to FB. Dont know if he is still alive and site is still up or not. I got an email from him awhile back that Morless had died. I know Stargazer died too. And can't remember her handle, but the gal who wore those slitted shorts and had her second awakenings. I know what she meant..at that age now too. Does it count until you finally actually climb out of bed and get dressed?dunno laugh
Maybe CS is getting ticked cause we don't pay?dunno
yesterday It was down all night long.
it was still down this morning when I tried to log on.
Yes, I noticed it too.

I refrained from commenting as it would bring back Lowkey making some odd comment.
However, while CS was offline, I did use the time wisely and was able to draw 2 kitchens, have a client meeting, wax my car, replant 2 pony-tail palm trees, read the Durham report, watch the entire collection of Pirates of the Caribbean, sort out socks and underwear in my dresser and... learn Malagueña on the classical guitar!

Wow, you were productive. Maybe you should make it a daily part of your life if you log into CS for only one hour per day.

I bet your significant other will appreciate you more. dunno
Thanks for working out my schedule.
thumbs up

... and down yesterday for a solid 12+ hours
so you could have worked on Recuerdos de la Alhambra too

Here is Ypes, but I was looking for the Australian Gregoryan!
Here it was down a whole day I think.
