Asking The Wrong Questions?
Quite often we don’t get the answers we expect because we’re not asking the right questions. It may seem silly but sometimes two questions that sound the same can have different answer. This often happens when one of the facts surrounding the question is not what we assume it to be. Let me demonstrate what I mean.A super computer with a very good data link was installed on the pavement in Adderley Street, Cape Town and people were invited to ask questions as it was claimed that the computer had access to every bit of information and could answer any question.
The people were amazed at the speed at which the computer spat out the correct answers. One fella stood there watching it and decided to get the computer tied up.
“Where is my father?” he asked and two seconds after he had his thumbprint scanned, the computer came back and said: “Your father is fishing in Richards Bay.”
“Gotcha!” he said. “That is not my father. My father is dead.” The operator said it was impossible as the computer never made any mistakes and they tried again, scanning the other thumbprint. The answer came back the same.
“Ok, let’s try something else,” said the operator as he was tapping new commands on the keyboard. Moments later the reply came back. It said:
“Your mother’s husband is in plot 1785, Stikland Cemetery. And just for the record; your father is still fishing in Richards Bay!”
So there you have it. Be careful of how you phrase your questions and don’t ask them if there is a possibility of you not liking the answer.
Have a wonderful Friday and don’t ask any wrong questions.

Hmm, quite. After all, you only have your mother's word on it.
I think life was much more interesting before DNA testing.
Miskien twee "Irish coffees" later en ek gaan die een verstaan
Yep, ask none of them silly questions and hear none of them silly lies.
Make it Don Pedro's and I will join you.
Point taken.
Oh, don't ask. Problems. My house is practically sold and I will be moving out within a few weeks. I'm getting rid of my junk and excess furniture. And some junk belonging to my ex-wife. She would have fetched it ten years ago. Told her to fetch it this week-end or lose it.
Nice to move somewhere else! Enjoy it!
I hate moving. When I was 5 I moved with my parents into the house I grew up in. Then I moved onto an apartment when I started working, and again into a house when I got married. I stayed there until I inherited this house 30 years ago. Do you have any idea how much junk I have collected in the last 30 years?
I think laptops are cheaper where you live than here.
Yes, I got it a few minutes ago and have replied to it about a minute ago.
Glad you enjoyed my Friday humor.
I paid R4,000.00 for my HP620 which is about US$400 but while our money is worthless overseas, R4,000 goes much, much further in SA than US$400 will go in the USA. It is only imports that is very expensive in terms of our currency.
Let's sau I'm very happily divorced and that makes me single. Definitely not plural.
Are you sure that was the question you wanted to ask?
Communication is the key, but so many are not really listening
I have a knack for asking the wrong questions. My mother told me so many times.
Maybe you want to rephrase it for me?
That is one of the reason, i don't ask a question. I just tell you.....
I don't know about overseas but South Africans are very prone to answering the wrong question. A typical example would be an answer like I have been very busy! when the question was Where have you been all afternoon?.
Hows life treating you. If I am Bob now which was 12 pennies, you're going to be Sixpence. Or should we rather make it Tickey which was 3 pennies.
That is 1 penny. duh!
A penny was just a penny but if it goes about status then we can always make you Crown. That was 60 pennies!
Not in the usa.....
I was talking about the British money we had here when I was a child. I did not know the US also use or used pennies. Heard about nickles and dimes but I don't know what denominations or currency they are.
I only know the main currency unit of foreign countries and have no idea what change they use.
We uses US dollars only. They are in coins and Soft backs....
Not here in the usa, It will cause you, 3 times more than that! Bet...
Hmm, our money goes a long way until we have to buy imports. It is our exchange rate that is killing us.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for dropping in.
