Why Doesn't Anybody Ever Help?
One of the main reasons why I started blogging, was to improve my English. Reading English is not enough. Sadly, my English did not improve in any significant way since starting to blog because nobody ever corrects my mistakes.Ok, I know that you never start a sentence with certain words like ‘and’ & ‘but’. I purposely ignore that rule because I write as I speak. However, I have many other problems with my grammar and syntax. A good vocabulary and accurate spelling is not everything.
I’m sure that I won’t bite if somebody helps me right in a nice way. Hans4711 once helped me right and he is still alive.
I don't say that we must start an English teaching campaign, but I think there may be more people around who will appreciate a little nudging from time to time.
Many thanks to Zman for correcting the heading of my blog!

I read a blog until I see that. If the blogger is too lazy to write, I am too lazy to read.
I wish I could say that you're right, but there is nothing wrong with my typing.
I must admit to typing very slow, but that is to accommodate those who cannot read fast.
I was telling somebody just the other days how glad I am the my children grew up before the age of texting. Now my children can battle with their children.
Before I retired, a student tried to hand in a task in that fashion. I sent him home with a red line through it and no points. His father objected, cursed and threatened. I refused to give in and he had to concede in the end.
I saw where on birth, marriage death certificates where surnames(last names) were spelt in many different ways.
Obviously back in the olden times people would spell things the way it heard.
What was so funny? I'm sincere and very considerate towards my readers.
My surname is an example of that. When my forefather arrived here in 1688 with the French Huguenots, he was an illiterate farmer. The Dutch authorities did not know how to spell French family names.
My family name differs from the original form. the same happened in the USA and Canada. I correspond with a few of those people. We all stem from the same Frenchman but our surnames are spelled slightly different.
I'm sorry buddy. I just went through the comments on this blog and discovered that I missed your comment. Please pardon the oversight.
I guess my English come across understandable enough and I don't worry about it too much, but I still like to do things properly. Being helped right from time to time cannot do any harm.
Hmm, if I understand you correctly, it is two words, but CS does not allow that. It is the same with 'Pieceacake' and 'Loveallnite', I guess.
And piece to you too!
I'm not so sure about that.
I volunteer teach English as a second language a couple of nights a week to adults who have just moved here who have little or no English. We have a lot of fun in our classes.
Yes, I guess in the end, being understood is the important issue, but I don't see the use of my large vocabulary while my poor grammar sticks out like a sore thumb.
No, no, no!
I don't want to sit in a class setup learning English grammar.
I just want to be corrected on the fly as I go about my blog.
Conversation? Never heard of it.
Where do they speak it? Is it an English dialect?
I have regretted so many blogs rhat one more is not going to make a difference.
Here comes my train to Lala Land.

Hi CC
My surname is an example of that. When my forefather arrived here in 1688 with the French Huguenots, he was an illiterate farmer. The Dutch authorities did not know how to spell French family names.doh

Catfoot most of my family on both sides of mine are French/Native American too.
Most of the French surnames are mostly in French spelling and thank goodness my son took 4 years of French when he was in High School and was able to translate them for me I would have had a fun time.
I'm sure some languages can be pretty hard to understand and write things properly.
/ This. is correct Cc, Of course its not always easy :)
My big problem in English is spelling! When I type out the word IF I felt certain charactor was wrong, and then had to go to online dictionary to check, made sure than posted, that's the reason I am a slow typer. But I still like type by myself not just use the auto correct. I am getting old , slow is fit me.
BTW; And I learned more new words from your blogs not just the words but the meanings from the text...
My surname is pronounced more or less the same as in France but an "a" in the original spelling was replaced with an "o".
Look at the similarities
Det er korrekte Cc, Selvfølgelig ikke altid nemt altså
Dit is korrek Cc, natuurlik is dit nie altyd maklik (nie)
This is correct Cc, Of course its not always easy
Vocabulary had never been a problem with me. It is easy to memorize words. I find it more difficult with the grammar and syntax because I tend to incorporate Afrikaans syntax and grammar all the time.
If the blog is interesting,
If the blog isn't, it could be absolutely perfectly presented, it would still be boring.
You know yours are interesting because we all keep commenting on them!
I'll take that as an compliment, thank you.
But I missed you for a day or two. Boring blogs?
Of course it was a compliment. Numpty!
Maybe you haven't heard but it's open season on hunters at the moment, I'm just representing the animals
