It’s not only WHAT you say, but also HOW you say it…

Earlier today, whilst sweeping up some dried leaves in my driveway/garage, I recalled something that had been said to me more than 12 years ago by my ex-husband (aka ‘wus’-bandlaugh), which was upsetting and negatively affected our marriage relationship. Today I mused that, had those same words been said with a loving/caring tone and intent, then I would not have felt belittled or dismissed (by him) at the time.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words cannot harm me”, is a LIE because whilst the hurts from ‘sticks & stones’ are usually superficial and short term, the pain that words sometimes cause goes deep…even to one’s very soul…and can last for decades. When I thought about them today, I felt the disappointment (again).

I’ve noticed that, for some people, it’s really easy to use words against others in order to hurt or offend, and I’m not even talking about the popularly known ‘obscene’ ones. I try not to (at least not out loudgrin). Even when there isn’t an intent to do so, that can still happen, so it’s not only WHAT you say, but also HOW you say it that matters in ALL relationships.

So tell me, if your person/spouse/significant other says to you, “It doesn’t matter what we discuss, the final decision is always mine”, how would you feel and what would you think? hmmm

Words I don't like

There are some words I don't like. Sometimes it's because of the meaning of the word, and sometimes it's the sound of the word. It could be a combination of both, or it could be neither. I will now proceed to think of words I don't like, but no justification for my dislike of them will be offered.

I will kick off with:

Everyday is a gift that needs to be unwrapped.....

I think sometimes we all get up on the chaois, past hurts, pain, and the stressors of everyday life, natural of course, but i think sometimes, as myself, i do forget the beauty of everyday life, yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift, that is why we call it the "present". We cannot do anything about the past, or tomorrow, only today. It is very special we have today, so although sometimes i present as goofy, silly here, i know its my own coping mechanisim in dealing with my own stressors of my today, my release from my own reality sometimes, but with a smile i say to you, my simple rules to daily happiness is:

1. free your heart from hatred
2. free your mind from worries that u cannot control
3. live simple
4. give more
5. expect less

hope u all enjoy and unwrap ur gifts for the day as everyday really is a gift...... teddybear

George and Kellyanne are soon to divorce...

After 22 years of marriage and 4 children, George and Kellyanne Conway have decided to call it quits. Both republicans, have different political views. He talks straight and she's in an alternate universe.
Many are surprised it's lasted this long...
I'm sure we'll still see them in the news, just not together.

Thank you CS

for those of you who don't know me, i joined this site over a year ago.. met the man of my dreams on here.. and moved from indiana to canada.. this summer we are getting married.. this past year has been a complete roller coaster. from FINALLY meeting matt in person.. to figure out if we should even try and make the long distance work.. to actually doing it.. going monthes w/out seeing each other.. to getting engaged..to finally me transferring schools and make the leap and move to canada.. it has been a CRAZY year and w/out CS none of this would have happened. so thank you CS.

Now, I am living happily w/ matt in canada, attending school, and we are getting ready to move from our apartment to our very own house (which we painted and completely redid ourselves.) So life is amazing at the moment and planning a wedding for the summer also keeps me busy haha.

A year ago, I would NEVER have thought that I would be getting married or living in canada. Its just supposed to show ya that you never know what life will deal ya next.. its just whether you have the ambition to take the new road.

Good luck to finding happiness for everyone here! if i can do it anyone can haha!
