Today I wasted 3 hours of my life

Being hit on by an old retired man who wanted me to quit my job and keep him company. Like, hello? I’m here to sell cars for commission that is something I don’t get playing chit chat. Do us sales people a favor and don’t d*ck us around. lol.
I don’t understand people who don’t give a shit about survival.
I’m a bit frustrated that I had to bite my tongue and smile knowing I lost 3 hours of opportunity.
I will do better next time.

The Dying Art Of Communication

I wasn’t alive or experience the times when men used to serenate their women or where they formally asked the girl to be their girlfriend. Your thinking “Common Adriana, that’s some Brady Bunch sh*t! Were in 2011!" And yes I too also know how to check my calendar and know the date, thank you for the reminder.

What I want to point out is the lack of verbal communication or the transition from verbal communication to virtual communication.

It seems like the days when people would pick up the phone to talk to someone or invite them out to get to know them has been over shadowed by  an overwhelming need to use email, messaging or text messages instead of using your mouth to talk to people.

Now I’m not an anti-tech person, in fact I’m one of the biggest supporters of mass communication and technology.I am a self proclaimed geek. I welcome every bit of it and I am thankful for the people who invented these things to make are lives easier. God Bless Tech Geeeeekkkkkss!!!!

Question is does this breed misfortune?

Does it harm other areas of our lives without us even knowing??

I tweet in the morning, tweet in the evening, tweet, tweet, tweet and text, text, text. I think I can compete with the best of them when it comes to communicating via these channels, but more and more I have realized that the added convenience of communication has taken a huge hit on human to human contact and communication.

I have been guilty of texting or sending my roommate a private message asking them something when they are in the room next to me!! Hahaha you know you have done it also! Or maybe you wished someone a happy birthday via message and forgot to “call” them.

Guilty! Guilty! Guilty! Been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt and the hat!

The all mighty question is up to when? Or how much of this can you do before you feel like your best friend is the keyboard and your cell phone?

Or before you lose the art of making someone smile?

Or knowing how to start a conversation?

Or what to say to someone you care about?

If you start speaking more in “LOLs” “BRBs” or “SMH” then read on.

I have a lot to say about this subject and don’t intend to say it all in this first write up, but I will start with as a society we have become terrible “people-persons”

I don’t know if that’s grammatically correct if you haven’t figured out by my past writing English is not my forte and I haven’t hired someone to “clean” up my writing because frankly I don’t want to and don’t care to, so deal with it. ok so back to people being lame and not knowing how to interact.

See the human touch is powerful!

Remember that old saying “People make the world go round”????????????????

Despite all our cool statuses and tweets and places you visit if you find yourself doing all this “stuff” by yourself or the number of “followers” isn’t quite the number of people that show up to your birthday party or whom you would be able to call if you had car trouble and they would actually help pick you up then the all important question is: Does It All Really Matter??

Are you really enjoying yourself? And are you finding fulfillment in your life?

So bottom line is in Adriana’s words:Who gives a flying f*@$ if you are by yourself!

Im not suggesting we go to our neighbors hold hands and sing kumbaya. I am urging us to reflect a little on how much time, energy and effort we put into solidifying the current relationships we have in your life and ask ourselves if we have taken any steps in increasing our network.

For those of you who think “man I don’t need to have more friends, I’m cool I got Bret, Mike, Ted, Logan from Phi Sigma Gamma Wanna Sleep WithYa, I don’t need more friends” then I would like to explore this question more with you next time, so stay tuned and in the mean time go change your status, go LIKE

And Tweet and Text about what you just read ... hahaha :)

On the journey for a new start

Well, I just moved far away from friends and family this year in October, and so far, things are moving but kinda at a rocky start. However, I'm learning how to maneuver myself in an unknown place with unknown people. I'm learning a lot about myself on this journey; weakness I'm strengthening and strengths I'm perfecting. In the end, I know that I will reach the goals that I came here to do; I just have to stay focus and keep at it. I can feel and taste it now I just only have to bring it into reality.peace

Another Obama blunder...and counting...LOL..

Well Obama is committing another BLUNDER to add to his list of blunders, unpopular ratings and failed policies! He seems to think now that Osama Bin Laden is dead that the war on terror is over. Boy is he in fantasyland...rolling on the floor laughing ...Im sure Al Queda is just going to give up and turn their back on terrorizing peace loving countries. What a joke..If Obama believes this he is as stupid as his unpopular policies that have left him unpopular here in the United States. The Europeans seem to love him so much..they can have him after the bum is thrown in two years! rolling on the floor laughing
But as history has proven with Obama that he continuously makes blunders without even acknowledging them. I can only hope for the next president to not have to clean up from the Obama mess of the last 3 years. Just another major OBAMA BLUNDER...rolling on the floor laughing

B-52 Thule

21/01/1968

A B-52 came down in the Thule area of Greenland after a fire broke out inside the plane. With four H-bombs on board. It crashed on the frozen sea. The plutonium which ignites the heavy-hydrogen bombs was lost and never recovered. Still spread in the sea near Thule airbase. The officials declared it harmless. But shot all wild foxes in the area.
One man died bones smashed, parachute burnt. Another had two feet and one hand frozen until he was found after 20 hours in the dark and coldness down to almost 40 degrees Celsius.
The american aircraft crash at Thule was number 14 with atom bombs.
I have no clear idea how many accidents with military and civil nuclear material happened till now in East and West from Hiroshima, Tschernobyl to Fukushima. Or if anyone knows at all the true figure and what happened. But what u can say is all life and mankind since the end of WW II has to cope with radioactive elements unknown before. Perhaps people get single for this reason. They split into atoms.
And eat radio mushrooms.

Jury selection...

Currently they are having jury selection for Trump's hush money trial. 7 jurors were selected and I passed a TV showing one was removed. They need 6 more and 6 alternates.
I haven't been selected for jury duty in more than 40 years and yesterday I was thinking "What are the possibilities to get into the selection pool?"
That would be awesome to fly to New York City today and first thing tomorrow morning catch someone who looks like me... offer him cash to borrow his identification and get into the room for jury selection.
That's less than 5% probability to get that far... Okay, less than 3%

Little things mean a lot at this time of year

Here we go, heading towards 2017 at a rate of knots - some alone for the first time, some have been single for a while, some even in the early stages of who knows, fingers crossed, might be good, hopes for 2017 ...

But this blog is for those of us on our own for Christmas, and how we plan to spoil ourselves just a little. Got your plans in place?

I'm writing this blog while I wait for a delivery of some Christmas treats (slotted delivery time, between 6.30 and 7.30, and it is now 7.11 pm) banana yay (where is he?)

Anyone else decided on their treat(s)? Any good ideas to throw into the pot?

And those who have fab plans lined up, that's nice for you - but rather please share your best ways of enjoying time alone, 'kay?

Apart from being on CS, of course laugh - music, or films, or climbing trees, or -oooooh! Delivery just arrived! joy cartwheel gotta go

The Preppy Killer

Did you hear about the recent parole of a woman killer?...It all went down in a New York City park in the 1980's...
Robert Chambers a lovely young man who was charged with murder but was reduced (he pled to a lesser charge)...due to the testimony and other 'supporters' believed that it was in fact an accident...conversing
He admitted to killing his friend Jennifer (after it became clear that he could not lie about his involvement) in a 'rough sex' went wrong accident... wow
At first he suggested it happened as the young lady was the aggressor and he was defending himself...later he said he applied too much force...idea liar
Adding to this seemingly unreal tale...his lawyer painted this young lady as a slut or bad girl...Robert on the other hand was a good looking, tall, popular lad who went to one of the best schools in NYC...heart beating
If you were privy to see the autopsy photos...I would beg to differ...but then again...this took place in the 80's... uncertain
Another ace up the defense's sleeve was his mother's friend a Catholic Church Cardinal called Uncle Ted...vouched for Robert's virtue/good character...innocent even gave him refuge...
So you can see why the prosecution decided to plead him down to a lesser charge... very mad
Little did they know that Robert's friends and family hid his thievery and drug addiction from the public...shock
It gets better...he gets 5-15 years in the clink but had some behaviour/conduct issues that resulted in him doing the full 15 years...drug use/ smuggling to name a few...
Just when you think you heard enough...there is more...jaw drop
After his release from prison...he decides that dealing drugs out of his apartment is a great job...good for the community...roll eyes
Robert gets busted and spends approx.15 years or so in prison again...his girlfriend gets rehab...maybe they think she has been through enough...stuck
So now he is free and going to be someone's neighbour...
Good Luck New York...wine
