Real-world studies of effectiveness in the UK, Israel and Canada suggest that vaccines are displaying a slightly lower effectiveness outside of the trial environment, probably because of the spread of the more vaccine-resistant Delta variant. Estimates put protection against symptomatic infection, depending on the vaccine, at between 60-90 per cent. According to Public Health England, about 17 per cent of the 105,598 Delta variant cases reported across England in the four weeks to July 19 were among fully vaccinated people. PHE counts people as fully vaccinated 14 days after their second dose.
Anthony Masters, a member of the UK’s Royal Statistical Society, said fully vaccinated people were likely to make up a “bigger proportion” of cases as vaccine coverage was extended, particularly in younger groups who face a higher exposure risk because of greater social mixing. “If you get extremely high coverage across the different ages, it’s plausible that cases could become majority among fully vaccinated people,” he said. About 55 per cent of the UK population had received both doses by July 21. In Israel, where nearly 60 per cent of the population are fully vaccinated and coverage is spread more evenly across age cohorts, 52 per cent of about 6,000 people who tested positive in the week to July 21 were fully vaccinated. Are some fully vaccinated people at more risk of falling ill than others? Very few fully vaccinated people who test positive for Covid-19 are getting seriously ill. According to PHE’s real-world studies, the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine is still 96 per cent effective against hospital admission, while the Oxford/AstraZeneca shot is 92 per cent effective. Cold and Hot
Well being here 4 months now and from florida, where I lived all my life. I have determined one thing. I do not like ICE anymore! I found out the hard way of what happens when you step onto it woth boots that dont have traction. YOU SLIP! I miss the warm sun of Florida
. I miss the heat. The beaches, and I hated swimming in them, but now. I would take that over the ice. Snow however........I love the snow part of it. The first snow was so pretty. I love it when it lingers on the branches. But I hear that is the kind of snow that snaps the power lines. I don't envy you all up here, and I am starting to see why most hate the cold. It really is almost to cold to do anything outside. And I miss the outside.

Theresa May has announced she is standing down as Prime Minister on 7 June following months of mounting pressure over her failure to deliver Brexit.
Her voice cracking, the Prime Minister said it had been ‘the honour of my life’ to serve ‘the country that I love’.
In an emotional speech, Mrs May said she had ‘done her best’ to deliver the result of the EU referendum.
“It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit,” she said.
“It will be for my successor to seek a way forward that honours the result of the referendum.
“To succeed, he or she will have to find consensus in Parliament where I have not.”
Mrs May will remain in post until a successor is chosen, which will be in mid-July, the Tory Party confirmed today.
Jeremy Corbyn welcomed the resignation and demanded Theresa May’s successor call an immediate General Election to ‘let the people decide our country’s future’.
Boris Johnson, the favourite to take over as PM, said: “A very dignified statement from Theresa May. Thank you for your stoical service to our country and the Conservative Party. It is now time to follow her urgings: to come together and deliver Brexit.”
Andrea Leadsom, who quit the cabinet this week, said: “A very dignified speech by Theresa May. An illustration of her total commitment to country and duty.”
Leadership hopeful Liz Truss said: “Very dignified statement from the Prime Minister. She has put her all into the job and has shown huge resilience at this difficult time. Thank you.”
Michael Gove, who remained loyal to Mrs May throughout her time in office, said: “A moving speech from a Prime Minister who deserves our respect and gratitude.”
The final straw of her doomed premiership came when a last-gasp effort to win support for her Withdrawal Agreement Bill backfired spectacularly and it became obvious her Brexit deal was dead in the water.
Leadership frontrunner Boris Johnson was one of those who praised Theresa May for her 'dignity'.
Brexiteers within her own party were enraged by the concession of the offer of a potential second referendum and customs union arrangement announced on Tuesday.
She also lost the support of many senior Cabinet members who made it clear her time was up.
Labour and the DUP also said they would not support the deal.
Andrea Leadsom dealt another blow when she quit as Commons leader on Wednesday evening saying she had lost confidence Mrs May would "deliver on the referendum result".
Mrs May delivered her speech this morning shortly after meeting the chairman of Tory backbenchers at 9am. The timing means a new Tory leader - and therefore Prime Minister - should be in place by the end of July.........

I listened to a video of EM on his take about AI.
"Artificial Intelligence doesn't have to harm humanity but if man is it's way, it will destroy it. Like ants, we don't hate them, but when we build roads and they're on the way, they get sacrificed. "
This had always bothered me since I heard of this speech. I love Elon, I admire and he gets all my respects, after this I've been disturbed and has so many questions.
I said: "well since AI is created by man, then good man makes good AI as well as bad man with bad AI."
Lo and behold, I read just now that AI can in itself creates its own.
How will this impact the future of humanity? Anyone?

Visit to see Santa
Today, I took my cat, Peanut, to the library to have her picture taken with Santa. Yes, I know, I'm crazy...but I love my furbaby. She so well behaved and I took several pictures of her. Now, that we are at home, she is exhausted and is napping next to me while I type.
